Backup restore Windows 7 not genuine...?

Machine XPS the HD went bad.  We did an image via the MS tools under windows 7.  Because the hot spare.

We installed the new HD, made the restoration of the image.

When you try to download updates from Microsoft Security Essentials, we found that Windows 7 is more authentic.  We have tried various Microsoft of its fix for this problem.  Yet, it always happens.

Is that all we can do others buy windows 7 and then reinstall?

OK solved the problem.  It turns out that it was the Intel Matrix driver.  I opened the Device Manager, uninstalled the Driver for the hard drive (which has been replaced).  Power cycling the system, he came and re-installed the driver automatically and VIOLA! It's all working.

Download the SP1 update for your language and edition of the links on these pages...

Heidoc - Microsoft DR download links

The links are for downloads from Digital River servers run for MS, so are about as safe as you can get :)

Once you have downloaded, you then need to burn the DVD of it - use the Windows disc Image burner, or (even better) your favorite at the slowest possible speed burning application.

Note that you do NOT "drag and drop" the file on the disk, you must use the option "burn image" of your app - or you will end up with a useless coaster :)

Once you have the disc burned, check it to start the (or other) system OK - but do NOT start repair-you must start the repair of in a normal Windows startup.

Follow the instructions in this tutorial - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R

    - and they should help you get through (it is not as hard as it sounds!)

Always ask first if you are not sure - either here, or on sevenforums.

    Good luck with it!

The letter change is quite normal - don't you worry about this :) BUT you must start normal windows and start the upgrade of statement, or you will end up with a clean install.

  • Vista asks to activate and insert the restore disc. SE message at the bottom of the screen: "this copy of Windows is not genuine".

    Original title: corrupt Windows Vista

I have vista business and I think he got corrupted when I went overseas. Now it asks me always to activate and insert the restore disc but I've mislaid and cannot locate my restore disk. Also on the bottom, it indicates that this copy of windows is not genuine? Please help anyone on how I can restore this back to the original.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    See which way suits you.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html

    See you soon.

  • "Build 6002: this copy of Windows is not genuine".

    Hello world...

I've had my TOSHIBA Satellite L40-139 for more than a year. She was purchased by PC World and came with a preinstalled version of Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. I don't have the disc that came with the laptop, but the Windows installed is genuine.

I went to install Vista Service Pack 2 after you download. I restarted my laptop only to find my desktop wallpaper disappeared and was replaced with a black background and the following text in the lower right of the desktop:

    Windows Vista (TM)
    Build 6002
This copy of Windows is not genuine

She was followed by a pop-up with two options, 'Activate now' or 'Activate later', followed by a pop up an error that says Windows must be reinstalled as a "unauthorized modification were made...". Please insert the CD or DVD. If I press 'Activate now' he's just another pop up that says I can contact TOSHIBA. If I click on the link it will just a standard screen for "help!"

I don't know what to do... I have the sticker intact COA product key and tried to enter, but she returned with various errors. It's like as soon as I installed service pack 2 I had problems. Yet once again, I don't have Vista or a toshiba recovery disk (I don't even know if it came with one). I tried to restore Windows, but it returns with the same screens!

    Help!

PS. is the Toshiba support line a toll-free number? Does anyone know a number that is free to call mobile phones? (I don't have a landline).

Your model of laptop is not delivered with the recovery disk, but with recovery image stored on the HARD drive. In s manuals document clearly describes that you must fund recovery DVD only tool preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator.

Version of the OS pre-installed (Toshiba recovery image factory settings) is definitely authentic and I really don t understand how it can happen. I mean thousands of people do the same update, and there is no other claim on similar problems.

Anyway, if you didn t create recovery disk you can try now is to reinstall the OS using the HDD recovery procedure. How to do this you can read in document http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm Toshiba FAQ
This will remove all HARD drive, extract second partition so if you have some important data backup.

If it will not let me know.

  • had my computer for 4 years and now bed screen Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 this copy of windows is not genuine?

Screen reads Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 this copy of windows is not genuine.

I had this for 4 years and no computer has ever seen this. I'm on anyway by clicking on "Activate later."

All the 'Help' forums I see suggest retype the product key. The sticker on my computer has a series of 20 characters of 5 letters and then 15 numbers without dashes or breaks.

When I retype it, on the second character (letter) he stops because the field says "invalid character": he wants a number when my product has letters.

In the system when I go to start. Computer. Properties of the system. He also says that I need to activate and has a product ID number with numbers and letters (5 numbers-3 letters-7 digit numbers 5) - but that doesn't work either. I don't know what product key to use because the two seem invalid now or my computer does not allow me to type the right pair...

    so far.

All the advice give me links that do not work, such as:

link does NOT-work window starts then disappears

http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012 this does NOT work either...

    Help!

Because my computer is more than 3, I can not yet ask questions by phone. Each application number for my service code that crashes then upwards on me are not covered...

Thanks for any help-i'm mystified as to how this could happen right now. I have not downloaded new programs recently...

I'm afraid to try to uninstall because I don't want to lose my itunes or personal files...

I guess I need to just unplug and get a flashlight, because I easily see not no sticker on my computer with that type of number... it seems crazy that the number is not available otherwise.

If the worst comes to the worst and you have a vista OS preinstalled, Dell, HP or whatever, you do not say, contact the manufacturer of your machine and ask them to send you a set of vista recovery disc and reinstall the operating system to how you bought your machine

normally, these recovery disks do not require an input key product on your part

and they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

and the same thing applies to that too; No product key entry required by you

He is currently using a Volume License KMS client.

Based on your report, you are currently using KMS license that requires that you enable with a KMS host. This is normally configured by an IT Department in a company to manage activations of clients on a network. This should be done every 6 months (180 days).

If the school is a license for Windows 7 Enterprise, you can try to join the domain and see if she wakes. Its possible to repair ship installed a non-genuine Windows 7 license Enterprise or trial that uses a KMS host that is illegal. Hello.  After years of good service my hard drive recently bit the dust.  I used Acronis to clone the HD and improved to a 1 gb hd to a 2 GB hd.  Everything went well for a few months, but now, all of a sudden, I start getting the message window indicating that my version of Windows is not genuine.  I read a lot of posts with the same question.  I not did something to solve the problem yet, but I downloaded the diagnostic tool and run multiple lines/requests to the command-line posted by Christmas Paton (thank you Christmas - by the way, people, don't pay attention to Andre and do not follow the "Six clicks to...") »).  See all the results of my tests below.  I see some obvious questions, but I don't know what to do about their...  "Incompatible file" and "corrupted file".

So far, Windows continues to operate correctly, but I fear that it will stop eventually.

    Thank you in advance.

    J

Regarding the Acronis or any other brand of backup software for this question not not common to see questions (especially the failure to load windows - bootmgr missing message) when it cloning. I prefer to create an Image backup and restore the backup of the image on the new hard drive.

  • I get an error, "this copy of Windows is not genuine".

    (1) I was doing a restore of files since my e-mail program seems to be
corrupted - with extreme slowness of IE. (Note that I had backed up the files before)
    (2) the restored worked well, but it went to a white screen that read something to the
that he was 'recovering orphaned files' (these are on pages 6 and 7). [I NEVER HAD THIS BEFORE.
    (3) when the system rebooted, I had the following words just above the notification bar:
    Win 7
    Build 7601
This copy of windows is not genuine.
    (4) Action Center has notified me that my last backup did not complete. Tried to rerun the p/c
and got these 2 messages: First: SLUI. EXE - bad image
C:\windows\system32\SPPC. DLL is not designed to
run on windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program using the original
installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
Second: SLUI. EXE - Entry Point not found, the procedure entry point PPSC. SLOPEN able
not found in dynamic link SLC library. DLL
    (5) I could not re - install Windows 7 64 bit because I kept getting a message that my last backup
    had not.
    (6) try to restore previous restore points without success. (they kept failing).

Finally, tried to START - computer - properties (in order to change the correct product key, but the property page of a computer "failed to load.")

Other than the "non-genuine copy of windows" and the inability to make a bacxkup (or restore), IE9 works well.  My Os is

Windows 7 Professional Sytem Pack 1.

    Your help will be appreciated.

    Ed.

Original title: this copy of Windows 7 is not genuine (message)

One would think that MS support Enginers would be able to read the emedded minimum information in a report of MGADiag - of course, we will continue to be disapponted in this regard.

In this case, no amount of stamping with time will fix the problem, which is that doctored and mismatched, files caused by alteration of the disc

  • Windows 7 not genuine after format.

Hi dude, I'm sorry if there is another thread on this topic. However, I could not find so I hope that's not too much pain. My story starts when I had a virus on my laptop, I have tried everything that you try to restore to an earlier date, f8 and all but did not succeed. Then I went to format my laptop. The place I bought my laptop Burns me a copy of Windows 7 as my laptop did not come with 1. Then I formatted my laptop and typed in my product key found on the back of the laptop. everything was fine until today my phone disabled certain functions and the corner saying im 'build 7600 7 window this window is not genuine' not quite sure what I can do to solve this problem, as the laptop computer was purchased with Windows 7 installed. My laptop is an Asus X52JK. Hope I can get some light on this situation. Thank you guys

Thanks to all for trying to help. Ive called Microsoft and they said there is nothing can be done outside to call ASUS and get a recovery cd window 7. After that I have to format the laptop with this cd. The reason is that the cd I used is not compatible with the product key. So now, I have to buy a recovery cd window Asus and wait more than a week for them to send it to me. In addition to this, I was able to backup everything on my laptop. A lot of waste of time. Thanks again guys

  • T430s Windows 7 not genuine

    Hello

I bought a Lenovo T430s, 2355-CTO type, it is still in warranty (already checked it), and for the last 20 days, I get "Windows is not genuine". It work perfectly during the last 4 months, but all of a sudden (I guess an update of Win) starts to show me this message.

I don't have a product key on my battery, Lenovo, I called and they told me that my laptop is with prefabricated Win and the key is embedded. I tried all of the fixes that Lenovo, I could start console but nothing has worked.

I don't want to restore the default hard drive (the only option left) I have a lot of data on my drive HARD, plus another SW installed from the corporate network.

Are there not a difficulty, or something?

    Thanks in advance

    Adrian

Thank you for your response. I'm going to download this kit, and if it happens to me again, I'll try this fix as well. Unfortunately I already restore my Lenovo to its default settings on the weekend and reinstall everything. Now it works, but it is not a nice way to fix this topic.

  • "This copy of Windows is not genuine".

My family has owned this office for six years now. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2, and it was recorded and works fine until this morning.

Today, I was invited with a dialog box to activate Windows, and my desktop background has been replaced by a black screen with "Windows Vista (TM) / Build 6002 / this copy of Windows is not genuine" in the lower right corner. All my system restore points are missing.

The computer seems to work very well, but the warning indicates that the operating system should be registered 'today', so I don't know what will happen otherwise.

When I clicked to activate my copy of Windows, a guest said that the activation key is not valid for registration and provides a link to 'contact the Hewlett-Packard Company to fix this', so here I am.

There are many results of this online version, but they all seem to suggest reinstalling Windows from the drive and store all our data elsewhere (we do have one large enough to handle this drive), or using a system restore point (which, let us remember, disappeared).

I would like to know what my options are. Thank you.

    JJokerDude, welcome to the forum.

It is a problem best solved by Customer Service of Microsoft.  They have all the information they need to know that your copy of Vista is valid.  They helped me several times with similar situations.

As an Overclocker, I installed and uninstalled Windows many times.  Microsoft will only allow us to activate our copies online a limited number of times.  It must be so, call them to get activated.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • I just got a black screen with "this copy of Windows is not genuine".

Original title: OS not real question?

Well, I bought a computer off Craig's list this week. Yes, I know this isn't the safest place to get a computer, but what's done is done. The current operating system of the computer is Win7. However I just got the black screen with "this copy of Windows is not genuine". I looked at the back of the computer and saw that he has a real sticker Win XP Pro. So is there anyway I can just download XP Pro on this computer and be good from there?

    Thank you
    KnightChain

Check with the manufacture of the computer to see if you have a "recovery partition" and how to use it to restore XP or if they still have the support of Windows XP available with they can send you to usually a small fee.
