Backup system failed

I used standyby for years.  Suddenly, last night, it wouldn't go into sleep mode.

Instead, I got this error message: "failure of the standby system - is the device driver for the 'HID compatible mouse' prevents the computer enter standby.»  Please close all applications and try again.  If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver. »

Mine is optical mouse Microsoft 1. 0a.  I searched through to:

How will I know if mine is a system of 32 or 64 bit?

And I'm on the right track?

I understand that you did an image backup, and while he was almost done you received the error (0 x 80070003).  Here is a link to a response from Microsoft to help you. Windows backup error 0 x 80070003 (One answer per Vinod N)

I'm not sure if you would be able to leave and get back on disc 99, because once you have repaired, it will be changed from when you first ran the backup.  The disc that you used only were not read, accessible writing, so you wouldn't be able to reuse them.  You can see that an external hard drive would be a more economical way to make your backups. The data must be in one place and easier to store.  If you decide to use a USB key, so do not more then the 32 GB and won't Windows 8 on it.

You can probably buy an external drive for on the cost of the replacement of disks.  Here is a link to the HP Shopping external storage , but you can buy one at several places, Office Depot, Staples, Wal-Mart and computer shops are few.  I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit hangs during antivirus and backup system analysis

I have problems with my PC. Last night, before retiring for the night, I noticed that Microsoft Security Essentials icon is yellow and warning me that my computer was in danger and had not been scanned for viruses for awhile. Normally it is set to run automatically on a schedule, but it does not work if my computer is set to go to sleep after a period of inactivity (which is because I want to save energy). So I have to manually run the virus scan. I have it set to run a FULL scan and then went to bed. In the morning, I noticed that my computer has been completely closed. It would normally be asleep and she simply by moving my mouse wake up. I had to hit the power button on my PC to start upward. The warning message that Windows did not close properly displayed and gave me the boot options. I just booted normally. As the virus scan has been the last thing my computer did the night before, I decided to try to run a FULL scan again. It crashed my PC. I started again and tried a QUICK analysis, which worked well. I searched "Microsoft Security Essentials plant system" and found a recent instance with someone else, and after more detailed diagnosis, they determined that it was probably a failing hard drive or a bad memory. The recommendation was immediately back up their system of hard drive and replace it.

Before you run any Diagnostics to determine my culprit, I decided to start a backup system just to be safe. I ran Windows Backup and choose "Create a system image" and he has done on an external hard drive on a USB3 docking station. He got about 90% through the backup, then my system crashed. No error message, just a full stop.

Unfortunately, a not save the link to the original set of instructions to diagnose why the system crashed during the anti-virus scan.

Now I ask... What can I do to save my system if it crashes my computer?

    Hi Greg,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that the system hangs when a complete analysis of how MSE or backup system and I'll be happy to answer your query. This could be due to MSE not updated and that's why he showed the yellow icon. We will try the following methods and check.

Method 1: Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) update

For update to MSE, please see: How to manually download the latest Microsoft Security Essentials definition updates

Here are some methods that you can try in order to solve the problem.

Method 1: Perform the clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Please note: After troubleshooting, be sure to start your computer in normal mode by following step 3.

Method 2: Clean boot material and check.

    a. go to Start and type Device Manager in the start search field.
    b. type Device Managerand select Device Manager from the list programs.
    c. right click on the sound card, video card and NIC, one by one, then click on disable.
    c. restart the computer.

If it solves your problem, allow hardware devices that in time to find the exact device originally this problem. After you find the device that causes the problem you can solve by installing the latest driver or replacement of the device.

Method 3: Do restore the system from the Windows recovery environment and verify.

    What is system restore?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-system-restore

Important: System Restore will return all your files non-system as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

If the problem persists, or you have questions about Windows, do not hesitate to let us know. It is our pleasure to be of service.

  • Recover lost File_Access backup system

XP Home Edition: I don't have to re-record a word file I did hours of changes to, but even since I took my computer in for repairs that I got this message that floats to the top and told me I did a backup system. I can't understand how access only. Suggestions? Thank you!

Assuming that someone set up backup NT to do something for you without your knowledge * and * they chose to save more than just the State of the system * and * you saved the file you want to recover in the State you want to recover in to one of these backups occurred * and * there was enough space (or pension) not to crush the last backup with a new one that occurred after the backup that you really want) If it exists) has been done...

Click on start--> all programs--> Accessories--> System--> Backup Tools. The wizard backup or restore starts. Click "Advanced Mode". Click on the tab "restore and manage the media.

If you want to restore from a backup file, expand file, and then the file backup that you want. For example, expand Sauveg.bkf created on 02/09/2011 at 13:15 backup includes the date and time of the backup as part of the default file name.

Select the check boxes for the folders you want to restore. If you want to be more specific in your selections, double-click the folder you want, and then select the check boxes for the files or folders you want to restore.

In the restore from box files, use one of the following steps:

If you want to restore the files to the location where you saved the, click original location. Use this selection when you restore the entire computer.

If you want to restore one or more files to another location on the hard drive, click on another location. Type the location in the location box. Use this selection to prevent the restore operation to overwrite existing files on your computer.

If you want to restore one or more files in a single folder on the hard disk, click single folder. Type the location in the location box. This selection allows to separate from the rest of the files on the hard drive the restored files or folders. On the Tools menu, click Options.

Click the backup method to use when it restores a file that is already on the computer, and then click OK. Backup uses this selection to determine whether to replace an existing file only when it restores a file in a folder that contains the existing file. Click Start Restore.

In the restore confirmation prompt that appears, click OK. A restore in progress dialog box appears, and the restore operation starts. When the restore process is complete, click Close. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.

That is based on certain important assumptions that point to the fact that you should probably configure your own backups that you understand and control.

  • backup system required a disk... How to use a CD?

G ' Day, I run XP SP3 and Office 2007. When you run a full backup of the system, I wonder to insert a floppy disk. I have not seen a floppy because Noah wear shorts. How can I change the system to request a CD-ROM. sincerely, Bob

I don't think it's possible. The program you are using is very old, when all THE PCs have the floppy drives.

Instead of using the built-in XP Backup program to perform a full backup of the system, do you a favor and use a better program like Acronis True Image or Paragon Backup System.

    Hello

-No, I don't have third-party backup programs installed.

    Hello

This problem occurs because the backup process detects that the system drive is dirty.
Windows Vista backup always includes the system as part of the backup drive. If the system drive is dirty, the backup process skips the system drive.
and no snapshot of the system drive is created. Therefore, the backup cannot locate a snapshot of the system drive later, and the error occurs.

  • Backup Windows fails to 50% due to IO error

    Hello

    I am using Windows 7 32 bit.

I just bought a 3 TB external Western Digital hard drive.

I tried to make a backup of Windows but it happens about 50% recorded so the IO error appears and says that my backup has failed?

To SOLVE the problem, I downloaded and ran - WD quick Formatter_Win_1_2_0_10

Once again my thanks for your kindness!

  • I have that one saved backup system, is there a reason to keep additional files prior to the last backup of system? I can remove them systematically?

I run the Windows Image backup to a hard drive external on a weekly schedule. The result shows on the hard drive as "WindowsImageBackup\(User name)-PC\Backup (date) (number)"-currently about 80 GB (binary).

I reserve about 135 GB of available space for backups of the system, so I save only the last backup of the system.

So far, I have no problem with that.

However, the disk hard, there is another folder '(USER NAME)-PC' & under which is a folder "backup of files (date) (number)" for each time that the backup system runs.

These files vary considerably in size - for example, 1 GB, 12 GB, 22 GB. They delete or replace automatically - just, they accumulate.

What I want to know is ~.

What is the purpose\importance of these additional files?

Since I only have a single saved backup, is there a reason to keep additional files prior to the last backup of system? I can remove them systematically?

    Original title: Windows Image backup

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

File '(Computer name)-PC "contains the files necessary for the Windows. Data files saved in libraries, on the desktop, and if the Windows folders for all people with a user account on the computer are also recorded.

[The default Windows folders include AppData, Contacts, desktop, downloads, Favorites, links, saved parties and searches.]

The size of these files increases, because the content of the folders mentioned above increases.
