bandwidth monitoring

Hello!

I was wondering if Linksys offers a software that could minitor the bandwidth of each computer connected to a router. I saw a few posts asking this same question and the answers are not, but they have been since 2008. Has anything changed in the last 4 years?

Thank you

Nothing has changed, sorry.

    Hello

My Internet plan has a 60 GB download monthly limit. Course this limit, the costs of my service provider x$ / GB.

Is there a Windows application that allows me to monitor my traffic/bandwidth from one date to another? If not, is it freeware available somewhere for that?

    Thank you

    Not natively in Windows, no.

  • Monitor bandwidth on C5

    People,

Anyone can confirm that extremely useful bandwidth Analyzer was fired from Captivate 5 and there is no simple way to estimate the length of a project from inside of Captivate 5?

    Thank you

    Donal

    Hello

Indeed, Captivate 5 is more bandwidth Analyzer. If you want to see the total duration of a project, select the table of contents and preview. The total playing time he will be there.

As for being 'Extremely useful' bandwidth monitor, well, that's a very long debate. It might be useful in the presentation of information reflecting the storyboard tab, but this is where it ended. This isn't remotely close to being realistic with bandwidth requirements, which probably explains his disappearance.

  • Svchost.exe constantly downloading stuff devours my limited bandwidth

Hello everyone, I am running Windows 7 and recently I had this problem with svchost.exe and hope someone here could help me fix. The problem is that my computer out of no where just begins downloading stuff (I don't know what it is download), I have a band bandwidth monitor (BitMeter) and have noticed these constant downloads. So I started researching on the internet and a small program called TCPView and found out that the downloads are caused by a program (I don't know which) using svchost.exe. TCPView I am able to put an end to the process, that said using the Task Manager these processes are not visible or accessible so my only chance to stop him is to use another TCP or process viewer. Also when I stop it is only temporary as it starts again after a few minutes.

I run the command (tasklist/SVC /fi "imagename eq svchost.exe") and found some inconsistency with the download market and without (after that I stopped it) and found it market/download Appinfo, BITS and Wuauserv serve I don't know what program uses this service, hope that helps. I can't afford to work because I have a little bit of bandwidth, I tried a few things like HiJackThis, Windows Defender, Avast Anti Virus, Norton Internet Security to name but a few, that I even restored my PC to the way it was when I bought it first, and none of them fixed my problem. Help please

Excuse my English/grammar, I'm a little frustrated now to try to keep this thing remotely, thanks in advance for your help

Its occur mainly because of BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service)

    Stop this service.

Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services - Search BITS and stop the service by right-clicking on it and then click on stop. Also in the properties of this service select manual or disable.

  • Make a network monitor is running "Windows XP mode".

Since the upgrade to Windows 7, I had trouble getting Bandwidth Monitor Pro to work on it. The program launches but does not recognize the network adapter. If I run it under Windows XP Mode which shows successfully traffic inside the VM on the graph, but no traffic to my host computer of windows7.

How can I fix it? I've heard of something called 'transition connections' or whatever. Which is relevant to my problem and how do I do it?

Please don't suggest other bandwidth monitoring software. I tried a bunch of them. None of them compares to BMP.

I can't help you make your old software works with a newer version of Windows.

I realize that in your original post, you said that you didn't want advice to use another program, but nevertheless you could take at least one free Microsoft Message Analyzer and its predecessor, the network monitor.  If you don't want to use one of those, you might take a look at the Message Analyzer Team Blog for ideas or ask in the Message Analyzer TechNet forum.  There is also a blog for network monitor and a TechNet forum for it.  Even if work on the monitor network seems to be stopped in 2010, there seems to be some recent posts on the NM forum.

These forums seem to be the best place to get help for a situation like that you are facing.

You can use the same username/password to access the TechNet forums as you do to access these Microsoft Community forums.  In fact, if you click on one of the links while logged in here, you will already be logged on the TechNet forum when the window so that it opens.

    Hello

    Thank you for the update.

It is not a way to limit the bandwidth of the network through the windows. This can be done only between your router and you could contact the router manufacturer for help.

In Windows 7, there is no network integrated monitoring tools. However, you can download and install the link below, below, network monitoring tool that takes care of your bandwidth monitoring network.

I tried the instructions at http://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/563-do-you-have-any-configuration-tips-for-cisco-routers-and-prtg and the first step fails because I

    no ip Routing

    Thank you.

We do not know anything about your environment or why you decided to activate ip Routing and fill. But there is probably a reason why you did that.

The importance of this is that NetFlow data are generated as part of the routing decisions. And you prevent your router to make routing decisions as you have disabled ip Routing. So I don't see anyway that you can get this router NetFlow, as long you have disabled ip Routing.

  • Logging strange problem with PIX

Since I upgraded to v7.0 on my PIX525 I noticed a weird problem that I have been unable to resolve in what concerns my PIX syslogging. A handful of times a week, I get messages stating that my email gateway trying to send about 4.2 GB e-mail messages to mail servers different.

Problem is I don't see any indication of this in my mail server logs, my SMTP gateway logs, and my bandwidth monitor is not reported this. We move usually about 1.5 GB per day through our internet pipe so if there was a 4.2 GB extra traffic, I know. I tried to sniff the traffic of the mail server and I do not take into account everything that matches the entry in syslog. I can't find any info regarding no matter where this and I was wondering if anyone has seen this issue.

    Thank you.

Trac bug Cisco messages the following warning, corrected in version 7.02:

CSCeh96708 Yes Syslog reports erroneous transfer size in syslog TCP disassembly 302014

Please upgrade to version 7.02 and these messages will be fixed.

  • FT peaks of the processor and latency

What kind of latency should expect when running FT protected comments?

I have a new 3-node cluster using servers DL380 G9 6.0 with the latest patch from April. Nothing runs on the then invited another cluster vCenter and 1 2012 windows server, I use for the FT test. When I activate FT on the client, it becomes slow and the comments CPU spikes when you do something, open the windows, moving around, etc. It's ping to meet when protected FT is usually is normally 50 ms or more and you can see it increase when the guest cpu spikes as a result of the opening of windows.

Is this normal? I do not think that this kind of slow and latency would be acceptable for production applications, am I missing something?

the guest is 2012 with 2 vCPU and 8 GB of memory

Exchanges of Vmotion and FT have 2 network cards dedicated to each of them and active jumbo frames. When traffic monitoring network connections is not anywhere close to saturating the network. Use of the host is nearly 5% on all nodes.

After trials with network cards 10 GbE for IP and bandwidth monitoring, that we determined that 10 GB is required even if the documentation indicates that it is only recommended. They changed the underlying technology that connects FT in vSphere 6.0 vLockstep to what is called "Fast pointing to the audit. Followed by the natachasery FT using esxtop on an old 5.5 system that uses the old technology (vLockstep) and then this same comments and using FT on 6.0 while monitoring with esxtop once again, we could see that it uses a lot more bandwidth to do the same.

So the real question wasn't that something was misconfigured, but the documentation needs to read that 10 GB is 'necessary' and not 'recommended '.

Working with VMware, we also discovered that they would not escalate the ticket to engineering at least use 10GBe links for feet and inches 6.0, it would make you assume that it is an obligation, not a recommendation. The documentation is misleading and I hope that this post helps someone in the future and that VMware updates the requirements documentation.

A last little note to anyone out there who isn't an expert in linux... basically I...

This version is flawless, once you install webmin.

    Log in as root

Then, run these commands and ignore dependencies errors as they will be corrected.

    apt - get install wget

    CD/home/user

    mkdir webmin

    wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.490_all.deb

    apt - get install perl

    dpkg-i webmin_1.490_all.deb

    f - apt - get install

From there, you should be able to login to webmin https://serverip:10000 interface and under servers find you Server Proxy Squid.
