Batch adding 1 PDF file to many

I have a PDF file, Enigma, with that I need a hand combination. I have a 1 page PDF (let's call that 1) and I need to apply this page to several other individual PDF files (let's call them A, B and C). The final result should be simple files combined as 1A, 1B, ake sense 1 C?  It's almost like a source/destination that sort of thing, I have another program where I have an ability to source/desitination (no PDFs, the other stuff) and it looks like this:

Capture.PNG

So the idea in this program, is that I can copy the format of a party to the rest.  My idea for Acrobat is to add 1 PDF file in front of a large number.

I can do manually in Acrobat using combine-> merge files, but when you're dealing with a ton of PDF files which can be laborious. Anyone have any ideas on how to do it more quickly? I searched online for command-line tools, publishers of lot, etc., but none seem to be able to do what I describe in this scenario...  I want to maybe stocks could help but were not able to understand this exact behavior yet.  I welcome any advice.

Thanks for any help!

OK, so here's how you do it. Create a new Action and add this JS code (assuming that the file you want to insert is located at C:\temp\cover.pdf):

this.insertPages ({}

nPage:-1.

cPath: "/ c/temp/cover.pdf"

Start: 0

});

Add an order record after that, and you're all done! Select the files that you want to perform the Action and run it.

  • I need to adjust the dpi when batch exporting a PDF file in format TIFF, Acrobat Pro

    Hi all

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro. I use action tool export batch than several (approx. 425 individual pdf) pdf to TIFF format files. My problem is the resulting TIFF images are of low resolution, and I do not know how to set the export settings to get Adobe to export it to 600 dpi or more.

If I jump the batch and each pdf file manually I can actually adjust the settings to 600 dpi, but I have too many files to do it manually. Also, if I use the feature to "combine files", bring all within a multi-page pdf, then export to TIFF: I can set it to 600 dpi, but then each file exported with a different file name. Example: "MAP5" gets exported as 'Page x of x' so I would rename of 425 files to their original file name.

Thanks in advance for your time and your help.

In the category 'Convert to PDF' of preferences, you can specify the resolution.

  • get files from a specific folder for adding a pdf file

    Hello

How can I get a file in a specific folder for adding a pdf file?

You don't need to get the files in the folder B, if you know what is the path of the folder B, and what are the names of files...

To process several files, you use an Action in Acrobat Pro. They have to run the following JS code (assuming that this file B is actually C:\Temp\B\):

    var folderBPath = "/ c/temp/b /;

    this.insertPages ({cPath: folderBPath + this.documentFileName});

Then add a Save command, and you're done.

  • How to compress a PDF file in batch using Acrobat Pro CC 2015?

So I upgraded to Acrobat CC 2015 and here, it seems you can't batch compress a PDF file more.

You can create a new action with the command "Reduce file size" which does not reduce a lot. Most of the PDF files remains the same size.

Powerful control is inside the tool 'PDF Optimization' and is called 'Advanced optimization' and can compress images etc.. Unfortunately it seems that this option is available on a per file basis.

So, how can I batch compress a PDF file with this new version?

    Use a backup step:

  • Convert a batch of PDF files to TIFF

I'm running Adobe Standard X and can't see where batch convert multiple PDF files in TIFF format, so that our estimating software can open them.  I know it's a piece of cake to do in Acrobat 9 Standard, but I must be overlooking something here.  For what it's worth, all the source files are located in the same folder.

I know this is an old post, but it is how it is possible with Acrobat Standard.

It can be done with the standard, but not in a single step as pro.

Open Acrobat and under Getting Started Draft "combining files in PDF.

Drop all your PDF files in the box and click on "combine files".

Once the file is created, go to file > save as > Image > Tiff

Each page will be recorded as a separate tiff file were all would you choose to save.

Only problem, is that the name of each page will be the same except an increment number.

  • How to create small PDF files with images of reasonable quality?

    Help me Obiwan Adobe!

There seems to be several utilities on the web that claim to do this, but I thought I ask first of all experts. There must be some sort of step by step technical describes a place that allows you to create PDF files that have reasonable quality but which do not come with such extreme weight they can not be sent by e-mail.

I saw suggestions ranging from using the footprint of the PDF in InDesign feature (sometimes it works, sometimes not), export from InDesign with the preset PDF/X1a (used to work ok, but now seems not chewable files down, as they used to) to adjust preferences for a lower screen resolution - not in export or save as dialog box - then saving it under a reduced size. I tried almost all the techniques I've seen but in vain.

So I guess there is something that I am missing. Building a file InDesign you want to compress severely, is best to use JPEG files or other PDF files or something else for placed images?

I know it's asking a lot and clearly native features of Acrobat are not much help, but I have several uses for this. I do a lot of book design and prefer to send drafts for customers who are at least pretty good for them to watch without blurry images. I would also like to set up a portfolio PDF that does not require the sending by FTP. In fact most of the places that ask for my PDF portfolio want less than 1.5 MB. It seems impossible.

So there you go. Somebody needs to write a book. In fact, if I get a good orientation, maybe I'll do it.

    Thank you

. Jpg can be a possible reason for blurred images. JPEG files are not generally recommended for use with PDF files, although many people use. Usually, TIF or PNG are recommended for bitmaps with PDF files.

  • How to generate a Word document and a PDF file of help files?

    Hello

I'm new to RoboHelp HTML and uses version 8.  I've updated some help files, and now I want to generate the output.  Here are my questions / or the process that I used:

    • To compile the help, I clicked on generate a main page layout.  Is this correct?  I noticed that the stamp on the xpj file has not changed.  The date is still many months.  (Why is this?  Must show a recent update date?)  However, the files that I've updated reflect the dates when I did the updates.  It comes to files art, a high hydrostatic pressure and htm, js, ldb, pss, DPC files.
    • To generate a pdf file, I clicked on Generate PDF.  I was not able to generate the PDF file first, but then I enabled macros in Word 2007 (Trust Center settings > enable all macros.. .and clicked on the checkbox, approved access to the VBA project object model) and you click on Generate the PDF.  At the end of the generation, I got this error in Word: Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  The news that you were working may be lost.  Word can try to recover it for you.  I closed the Word and dialog box generated several blank documents.  Microsoft Office Diagnostics was performed and found a problem and fixes it.  Despite the error message was generated a pdf file.  (If you could give me any idea on why I got error messages, which could be useful to know).
    • How to generate a Word document?

    Thank you!

    Erin

    Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest a different workflow.

When you select generate a main page layout, RoboHelp did this according to the settings in all that is attached to your main layout. Better at least first double-click the page layout so that you see the settings and can make a difference to the way you want. After that, you can use generate a main page layout if you want, but I'd rather go through the layout itself and check the settings.

The XPJ file changes only when certain things should be recorded in it and it's not every time that you are working on the project. In other words, don't worry about the date of the file.

Now for the PDF. Again not the best place to start and still better to go of the provision itself. You can try to simply generate a PDF file, but many users prefer to create a Word document and make some changes in that. It can just be put page breaks to improve appearance, it may be more, it's your call. Once the Word document is good, generate the PDF from there.

You will find the page layouts, that I want to talk in the pod of single Source Layouts. View > pods.

  • Political image when I create a PDF file: warn and continue does not work

    Hello!

I need to create a PDF file with many images, and I need to know if all this image is low-resolution (< 300 dpi). I tried to use the policy of the image in the PDF settings but it does not work, because if I choose "Warn and continue" (if the resolution of an image is < 300 ppi, warn and continue), the program creates the PDF file but do not get hot me and I see no message... and I'm sure there are bad pictures because I wrote a check to test with 72 dpi images.

Thank you very much for your attention,

    Best regards!

(Sorry if my English is not as good as it would be)

You can use the preflight in Acrobat.

  • Password protect many PDF files in a batch

I have several PDF files, I want to add passwords, but I don't want to combine them into a single file.

Is there a way to batch or run a script that would assign a password to all the files individually in one fell swoop?

    Thank you!

    Hi Kim,

    The short answer is Yes.

Select it Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing menu item

Click the new sequence on the dialog of batch sequences

Add a name (for example password Sec) and then click OK in the dialog box new sequence

Click on the Select command button on the edit batch sequence dialog box

Highlight the list box on the left until you find the security

Select Security and then click the Add button

Select Security in the listbox on the right, and then click the Edit button

Click Password Protection in the drop-down list security method

Affect the security settings that you want to use, then click the OK button in the password security settings dialog box

You will be asked to confirm the password you have chosen

Click the close button in the Security dialog box

Click OK in the edit sequence dialog box

You are in the dialog box change the sequence of batch at this stage and finished one of the three points. This is where the batch is powerful. If you have decided to run the command in a selected all folder you need to do is to drop all unencrypted in the folder you selected and run the batch sequence. If you click the Output Options button you can assign new names to the files so you can keep the original unencrypted separate of the newly encrypted copy.

    I hope this helps.

  • Convert a batch of PDF files to text files

I have thousands of PDF files that I need to convert it to plain text for processing files.

I can convert them individually to help save it under... dialogue. However, I would like to set up an Action to automate the process, but I see no action in the Action window that would allow me to specify the output format required.

Am I missing something, or it is not possible to convert a batch of PDF files to plain text files in Adobe Acrobat X?

    Thank you

Thanks for the tip of Bernd.

I don't really know javascript, but I managed to make it work by referring to the following page and using my rudimentary knowledge of PHP:

    http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-PDF-Acrobat-JavaScript

I created a new Action with the Action Wizard.

I put "start with:" in my files folders (for example, C:\MyFiles)

I added in step "Run the Java Script" and used the following code:

    / * PDF text * /.

    this.saveAs ("/ exit/MyFiles/c" + this.documentFileName + ".txt", "com.adobe.acrobat.plain text");

Note: The value "/ exit/MyFiles/c ' where you need the files to be issued (' / output/MyFiles/c ' corresponds to C:\MyFiles\Output).

I put "save in:" "do not save the changes" (as the fact required javascript code save).

I then ran to the Action, and files such as C:\MyFiles\101.pdf have been issued in the form of text files to C:\MyFiles\Output\101.pdf.txt, which is good enough for me.

I do not seem to run into lots of 350ish however, or even Acrobat stumbles on and dies.

Hope that helps someone else in the future (i.e. the future self).

  • The Acrobat 9 batch - get PDF files of the folder names?

    Hello

Can someone give me an example with the use of batch (when the value of a specific folder/files) for a list of the names of files in this folder? I was not able to find examples online. It does not seem be any batch built in sequences that automatically do so I guess it will have to be done with javascript?

In the end, I need to automate a process (I was hoping to create a batch sequence to do this) which will allow me to invite a user to choose a record source to PDF files and then based on this selection, run a Javascript that I create, which will merge all of the PDF files in this folder into a new PDF apply some culture settings to each page, and then ask the user where to save the merged PDF file?

Has anyone ever done something like this? I'd love to see an example of how this could be able to achieve.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to create a batch process to test (now called 'Actions')?  Actions in Acrobat 10 has the 'Merge all the files in the folder' option, and batching in previous versions has always included a commad culture page, but also an option to ask the user where to save the file.
