• Script to automatically replace the specific layers?

  Hello. I work for a small company and we frequently get client files I need to edit. Because of the way thay are formatted the layers always come with the same name/structure, but they still have a layer we need to replace. Go to a shared drive and manually place our desired element (a .pdf file if it is of importance) in the subset to continue with the file layer. Thus, for example, there will be a layer in the default file named layer 1, and this layer is Group 1 > Group > mask of clipping and Image.

  I know ideally we should simply fix the script that formats the layers, but for now is not possible. So what I would like to be able to do (assuming that it is still possible), is to have a script that we can run that automatically replaces the 'Image' file in these layers of subset, I spoke with a file to a location on a local computer (for example replace the 1 layer > Group 1 > Group > image.jpg with C:/example/example.pdf).

  I searched online and could not find anything, so I thought that I have turned to the community for help. Entries, suggestions or creative solutions would be greatly appreciated! And as always, thanks, everyone on these forums is usually very beautiful and impressive, so it's always nice to come here to help.

  Well, this should help you get started. Keep in mind, it is written in VB.NET then you will need to translate it is that you want in Javascript. At least you will have a model to begin with. This is just a quick hack for you to start with - you may need to change the layer you want the new image appears on, if it's important. In addition, it is assumed that you started with a plot point (image.jpg) and whether you want the new image to be incorporated. You will see the code tweak as you wish.

• What happens in a batch file when you try to redirect the output of a command in a text file? How did it break the lot?

  I have a lot that downloads the files, and I want to redirect the output to a text file.  The lot is set up similar to the following:
  Set ftp = c:\ftp.txt

  Define ldir = c:\temp
  echo open monsite.org > ftp %
  echo user > ftp %
  echo pw > ftp %
  echo get myfile.txt > ftp %
  echo mget my*.dat > ftp %

  This lot works perfectly if I redirect the output of the ftp command, but, when I redirect the output, I get a logfile with 3 lines as follows:
  no connection
  mget my*.dat
  Good bye

  I tried the commands different redirect, with undesired results
  > & (which causes only the batch to close by anything in the logs)

  Why is - what this redirect would break the batch and the ftp script in particular?

  This is now fixed; was a simple mistake really, but thanks for all the help anyway.

• Windows - corrupt file message, telling me to run the chkdsk utility - does not work

  This is the message I get: "the file or directory C:\System Volume Information\EfaData\SYMEFA. DB-journal is damaged and unreadable.  Please run the chkdsk utility. "When I type chkdsk/f to the command prompt it tells me that it cannot run while windows is open and asks if I want it to work when I reboot.  I say Yes and restart and nothing happens.  What I am doing wrong?

  Two observations:

  1 symefa seems to be linked to something of Norton/Symantec called "Symantec Extended File Attributes" that seems related to Unix file data, so why it is present on a Windows system is a good question. A position I've seen connects it with Norton Internet Security 2010/2011 and suggests that uninstall NIS using theNorton removal tool will solve the problem.

  2. the System Volume Information folder is a folder 'hidden super' which is not normally accessible.  This is where Windows XP stores the system restore points andother information important to the operating system .  I suspect that Norton/Symantec has decided to take advantage of the great hidden nature of this file in order to hide some of his own thing.  You can access the System Volume information as described herehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531 and delete the offending file.  But I would get rid of NIS first and then delete the file.

• Dashboard - not automatically runs the analysis

  We have a dashboard with a couple of guests analysis and dashboard. Whenever we open the dashboard all analyses are executed (the cache or db)... we would like to let the user decide first prompt values and then run the dashboard (apply or redefine).

  You mean loading? I don't think there will be a lot of waiting...
  ex: If you set a report level current_date filter, there is no data and it would show no results without delay... other than the reports in real time.

  There is no work around to do this, other than what I proposed. This is the only way to stop the execution of reports on the dashboard

  When I try to download bank statement site web I get this error.  Internet Explorer cannot download a of files cannot be written to the cache.  I made sure that the do not save the encrypted data on disk is not checked.

• Automatically runs the integration procedure when arrives to the new file source csv

  I have a few steps to integrate my data defined as steps in the odi package. All data will be loaded from csv file, located in the source directory. End users will have access smb to the end of the file, they will be able to put the new csv (with a valid, defined name) in this folder. Thus, odi must periodically check if the new file happened and if the new file has been found - my packege should be performed. Or alternatively - package can run periodically and check if the source file exists if so the data should be integrated.
  
  What is the best way to do it?

  I'd do a package starting with a stage of ODIWaitForFile;).

The env has been opened with indicator: DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_TXN |  DB_INIT_LOCK | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_REGISTER | DB_RECOVER | DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_THREAD | DB_INIT_REP;   Autoremove indicator has been defined: envp-> set_flags (uid_dbs.envp, DB_LOG_AUTOREMOVE, 1) before open env.

However in HA env these log files were never deleted. Could help you in this matter? The customer needs to run checkpoint? Can it be a bug in the bdb?

  I do not say that this is causing a problem, but make the DB_ENV-> log_archive (DB_ARCH_REMOVE) in your thread and setting DB_ENV-> set_flags (DB_LOG_AUTOREMOVE) are redundant. In your thread, you control the timing. The DB_ENV-> set_flags (DB_LOG_AUTOREMOVE) option checks and removes unnecessary log files when we create a new log file.

  Have you seen in the documentation of DB_ENV-> set_flags (DB_LOG_AUTOREMOVE) we do not recommend do deleting files of automatic newspaper with replication? While this warning is not repeated in DB_ENV-> log_archive (DB_ARCH_REMOVE), it also applies to this option. You should review the use of this option, especially if it is possible that your customer could go down for a long time.

  But it is a warning and automatic log removal should work. My first thought here is to ask if your client has recently experienced a synchronization? Internally, we block archive on the client during certain parts of a synchronization master to improve the chances that we will keep all records required by the sync client. We block archiving for 30 seconds after the client synchronization.

  This thread is to discuss a different issue. The reason for our BDB 4.6 warning against the use of automatic elimination of log with replication is that it only takes into account all sites in your replication group, so that we can remove a log of the master who always needs a client.

  We added remove auto journal group that supports replication manager replication 5.3 BDB, and this discussion is about a change in the behavior of this addition. With this addition, we no longer need to recommend against the use of elimination automatic log with replication in BDB 5.3 and later versions.

  Could help you in this matter? The customer needs to run checkpoint? Can it be a bug in the bdb?

  I'm not sure that the customer needs to run its own control points, because it performs checkpoints when it receives control point of the master journal records.

  But none of these options to delete log on the master does nothing to remove the logs on the client. You will need to do the following: to archive logs separately to the customer and the master.

  First of all, I suggest you to check the commands written in a batch file. To do the same thing, just right-click on the batch file, and then click change. It will open Notepad with the list of orders scripted for this particular batch file.

  To respond to your request, you must enter the administrator password to access this command file.
  Instructions for Windows 7
  In order to run as administrator, create a shortcut to the batch file.
  1. right click on the batch file, then click on copy
  2. navigate to the location where you the shortcut
  3. right click on the background of the directory
  4. select Paste shortcut
   
  Then, you can set the shortcut to run as Administrator:
  1. right click on the shortcut
  2. Select Properties
  3. in the shortcut tab, click Advanced
  4. check the box "Run as Administrator"
  5. click on OK, OK
  Now when you double-click the shortcut it will ask for confirmation UAC and then run as an administrator (which as I said above is different than running under an account in the administrator group)

  Configure your task under your administrator account.
  Then go to the folder with the batch file and ADD on control for the folder administrator permissions and each of the files in batches.
  If the batch files write data, then the target for the task should ALSO have all explicit permissions.
  Now try to run the Task Scheduler task.
