Windows 8.1 was delivered with the version of the downloadable 6.801.5.0 driver from Dell, I also tried and committed in my opinion the FW even hanging the question.

I'm afraid - anyone know what is happening?

    See you soon

    Chris

Appearantly this is related to the latest driver from Dell. I've found a workaround, but it's a bit complicated:

1 connect a USB stick which is big enough

    2. install Wndows 8.1 on the * USB drive *.

    3. start Windows, and then remove the current driver and install the previous driver for Windows Server 2012.

    4. use the 3rd party software (say that Ghost) to copy the windows from USB drive to VD on Dell PERC H710P controller.

    5. start Windows in the USB drive again and use 'bcdedit' to clean boot stuff

in any case, I'm LSI 9361-8i, so it won't be a problem for me in the future...

  • Dell PowerEdge T320 PERC H710P Upgrade

Dear support, I have a Dell PowerEdge T320 server that was purchased with a software RAID controller in S100.  I just bought a PERC H710P controller and hoped to help on the installation.  Do I need anything else to install the card as a set of cables?  I have a 8 x 3.5 "hot swappable backplane already installed with a pair of cables SAS that connect to the motherboard.  What else do I need to do this work?  I'm also not sure where the PERC H710P controller must be installed?  I can't find pictures or drawings on the Internet.

    Thank you

    Joe

    Jpmigliozzi,

You should also order the cable (part # DJXF7) as well. This is the cable that connects the 710 in the bottom of the basket 8 x 3.5. Look at the picture below and let me know if those are the cables you already have.

    Let me know.

  • How to add my 'fired' drive back to RAID1, PERC H710P and erase or foreign configurations...

    Hello

I just got a PowerEdge T620. The OS is in RAID1 (two 256 GB SSD), controlled by a H710P PERC controller.

When the computer was OFF, I took one of the discs, to see what it was the brand. (I bought the computer from a dealer and I wanted to just make sure I got what I paid for ). In any case, after you turn the computer back on, I noticed that the small screen at the front had changed color and showed a message. I checked the message and the computer seems to work with a disk in a single well. As it is supposed to.

I decided to put the disc back in French - while the computer was OFF. I noticed, that at the start, the system is now saying:

"Configuration foreign (s) found on adapter Press any key to continue, or 'C' load the configuration utility or the 'F' to import the foreign configuration (s) foreign and continue."

I did a search on here and on Google and was able to find something that looks like a 'response' to me. However, as I have never done something like this before, I would like to ask you guys and see if I'm about to do the right thing!

-When the system boots, press Ctrl-R.

    -I get to Setup BIOS card PERC H710P 4.00 utility - 0014

-Then, I press 'Ctrl-N' until I get to the page "foreigners."

-Once there, I insist on "PERC H710P adapter (Bus 5, Dev 0).

    -Once highlighted, I press 'F2 '.

-After pressing 'F2', a window opens, which says 'Foreign Config'.

-Then I press "ENTER" and another window opens with two options:

    'IMPORT' and 'CLEAR '.

From what I have read, I need to select "DELETE?" Not sure if?

    Thank you

    G

p.s. I downloaded photographs showing the PERC BIOS...

Yes, what you call after having done, you must DELETE it, and then assigned as a hot spare.  If you import it, you will damage your table

  • R720XD - Perc H710P Mini - Firmware version 21.2.0 - 0007

    Hello

I can't find the correct version of this run anywhere.

The next page that I think is good:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/555/DriverDetails/product/PowerEdge-r720xd?driverId=347MX&osCode=WS8R2&FILEID=3188831026&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=SF

But I can't get anything on this page to run under 2008R2.

Can someone help pls with the right package to run?

    THX,

    John Bradshaw

The link you provided is not for the H710p mini card. This is why it does not work, not because of a 32 bit 64 bit problem, and that I had linked to is the adapter not the mini that I have it based on the link and not the title of your post.

    Try this one http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01263699M/9/SAS_RAID_H710PM_21.2.0-0007_A04_ZPE.exe

To answer your questions about 64-bit, here is some additional information:

WOW64 is the 32-bit emulation Microsoft implementation, so that you can run 32-bit applications in a 64-bit environment. It is transparent, you don't have to do anything to run an application in WOW64. It has been used for all the applications installed that are not native 64-bit since 2003 x 64 applications.

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/Windows/desktop/aa384249 (v = vs. 85) .aspx

Some updates of the firmware of hardware have the 64-bit versions, but most of the time between updates in 32-bit and 64-bit versions provides no advantage because it updates the firmware and not a normal running application and benefits that provide applications 64-bit are not necessary for an update , because it will not need more than 4 GB of memory, or the memory better treat that provide 64-bit applications. Production of 64-bit applications is a big advantage, but for an update that runs only once and is not necessary after that he improve the experience.

  • PERC H710P Mini may not increase storage

Hello, im trying to develop the existing Raid 6 storage. I've added 4 new drives and they are listed as loan. However, in Volume, it has no other choice to reconfigure. What Miss me? I read that only Raid 10, 50, 60 cannot be increased...

Ah... it's because you have several bays in the same set of disks (called "slice"). You cannot reconfigure arrays in slices. You will need to do a backup/restore or remove the second VFD to expand / reconfigure.

  • The PERC H710P will support third party company 8TB SATA drives?

I'm looking to extend the life of an old 2950III of PE with 64 GB RAM and Windows Server 2012 R2 which is used as a repository for copies of backups. Anyone who has used successfully 8 than TB Enterprise-class WD, Seagate or Hitachi drives with this controller successfully?  The server is currently configured to use Windows Storage Pools, but I plan to migrate to ESXi 6.0 and vSphere. I have read the reports that to 6 discs have worked successfully, but as I buy 6-disc I'd like to optimize storage space financial available if possible if the cost per TB makes sense going with a 8 TB drive.

If these drives will work, should the card be flashed?  I've read only reports of the flashing with the firmwares on this forum and that you have used personally the official flash versions of Dell.

    Thank you.

Ah, I noticed that earlier in the thread title... might want to put all the pertinent details within your post, as the title for a reason any is not visible when you reply.

So... maybe. Non-certified discs are guaranteed to certainly not to work and the less mainstream you will (as to 8 disks), plus it is likely that there will be a mismatch. I recommend you get to go somewhere with a good return policy and try just to test.

  • Fake H710p PERC? -Firmware upgrade error

    Hallo,

I recently bought a DELL PERC's H710p to the address but I can't update the firmware or install the driver. I always get an error like:
    "No controllers present or detected."

First I thought that this is because the PERC H710p is not supported on a DELL R710 server. But after some research, I found something weird.

The reason why the update of the firmware fails is simply the fact, that the "SUBDEV = 1f38" required when updating cannot be fond. My 'H710p' has a different SUBDEV. His SUBDEV is 1f77. So my question is, I bought some controller "false"?

If this is not a 'fake' controller, what should I do to update my H710p and how to install the drivers?

    Thank you

Controllers H710 series have been tested and validated in the Dell only 12 servers (such as the PE 720) generation.   Further, check your H710p came from a Precision Workstation.  The following valid this information, which came from the file nocheck.bat for this controller:

    OFF @Echo
    CLS

    put the FW = 21.0.2 - 0002
    Set ROM = H710PAWS.rom
    SUBDEV = 1f77 set
    DOS32A = set / AC /NOWARN:9004

You will need this patch: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=CGM2K which is the latest available for this particular controller.

The controller may or may not work in your PE710, it just has not been tested or validated.  Good luck!

  • PERC H310 H710p migration

    Hello

I'm not an expert in RAID configurations but I am in charge of server Dell T320 my company and we will replace the storage controller that comes with it (H310) with a PERC H710p. We have a configured RAID-1 and we will continue to use the two disks of same after migration. We will replace the controllers.

I know I have to do a backup before you replace the Exchange, but we will lose the RAID-1 configuration and data (including the operating system) after migration? Or it will be transparent to the system after reboot?

Where can I find a type of paper that could guide me through this process because I don't want to wreck anything.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Jorge

    Hello.

It is advisable to back up your data before performing any maintenance task. Ensure that you have a backup is valid data. The PERC H710 P supports the migration of virtual disk controller PERC H310. As a best practice, make sure that the hard drives and firmware H710 P is up to date. Replace the H310 and update the H710 P firmware with the controller cables disconnected from the background. Stop the server and connect the cables of the controller in the background and then restart.

Your RAID configuration can be transparent to the system or appear in a foreign configuration. Clear the foreign configuration through the utility OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) or Ctrl + R for the POST.

I would like to know how it works for you.

  • Referred to Dell r.620 and H710P PERC - backplane cable?

    Read this thread:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/906/p/19471857/20339141.aspx

We ordered PERC H710P customer mini kit (342-3536-PCVT5) and 2 x 800 GB Solid State Drive SATA value MLC 3Gbps 2.5 in. (342-5821) for our r.620 (which previously only had the on-board controller S110). Can someone help me identify the part number for the cable necessary? Looking around without success.

    Hello

As you initially had the S110 and it only supports the background configuration of the 4 HARD drive backplane I'll assume that it is the bottom of basket you have. If this is the case then the part number for the cable you need is:

    WVF6J

This is the background cable basket for a PERC 4 HDD backplane SAS A connection mini. It works with all mini girl PERC cards in the r.620; who are the H310 and H710 (p).

Normal sales agents in general have not access to sell these parts. In general they cannot sell the new components that are designated by a 7-digit reference number in this format 111-1111. Our spare parts department is who you must contact to buy spare parts 5 figures.

800 357-3355 is the number listed for them. Be sure to reference the contact page in the future as long as the number can change. It will be not updated in this post, but it will be updated on the contact page.

  • Mini H710P PERC in a server r.620 - updated the bios

I tried to update the bios in the PERC H710P mini that came with a server r.620 (the boot in the bios of the RAID, the map itself ranked H710P mini card).

However, none of the available updates would be charge - every the map does not exist.  I used installs it back based, since it is a VMWare host.  Three updates, I've tried have been

Monolithic mini H710, H710P, and H710P of blade.

Any ideas?  I didn't want to force an update with the control-no option.

    Hello

I don't know why she does not appear on the download page. I checked several pages to download the product as it should be, and it is not present anywhere. The package is properly formatted, so I suspect it's a timing problem of a certain type with the site. There is a newer version of the firmware that is pending release and will get I hope that Web site to get new data.

You must be the FW 21.0.1 - 0083 or later to apply this update to the firmware.

    Thank you
