  • Satellite M30: Questions about the battery, SD, energy-saving card reader

    1. After looking through the forums, it seems that my problem is not uncommon: my Toshiba Satellite M30 seems to have a life of the battery for about 10 minutes. Power not connected to the adapter, Windows detects 100%... 99%... Then 3%. Throughout the life of the battery is about 10 minutes, and I don't know why. Does anyone know? (Info from BG: laptop about 2 years, not too used)

    2. How will I know exactly WHAT model of Toshiba Satellite M30 I? (There is a code after the M30-part - I need this to find out what batteries I need to buy to replace)

    3. What is the nearest Service Center, I can talk to the United Kingdom with regard to my battery problem? From Toshiba Web site lists 20 companies different with Toshiba in them to the United Kingdom, and I have no idea which we touch!

    4. my SD card reader is a bit faulty. To put a SD card, no message appears to recognize the card - the laptop just doesn't recognize at all, and I do not see "SD card" or equivalent in "My Computer". However, if I put an SD card, and then restart the computer, I can see the SD card, it simply does not update while the computer is on, when I restart - cures for this?

    Hello

    1) looks like a dead battery. It s not unusual that the battery will discharge performance after about 2 years. As far as I remember, you can load and unload the battery for about 500 times. After this period, the lifetime battery decreases faster. The same symptom occurs for example with a cell phone battery. I think you should ask the new battery Toshiba service partner. PS: The guarantee covers the battery for about a year.

    (2) it's very easy at the bottom of the unit, you will find a label with the serial number and the name of detailed specifications.

    (3) visit this site:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?PF=true
You will find the database with ASP together all over the world. These guys are responsible for replacements, repairs, etc.

    (4) number of SD card is very strange. On my Satellite SD card window opens if I insert the SD card. You can try to remove the SD card from the Device Manager reader and after that new reboot, the OS should has new charge card CD driver. Eventually, it helps.

    (5) I don't know what you mean exactly but on the Toshiba driver page, you will find the tool power Toshiba compatible and taken in charge. If you have downloaded from the area Sat M30 driver so I think you can use it only on this laptop.

    take easy B-)

  • Lenovo G400s optimize battery health auto turn off display

    Hello

I rarely use my laptop outside the power adapter, so I decide to try the 'optimize battery health '.

To my surprise it drain the battery of 60% and he stopped there without discharge or charge, which is good.

But it has a few side effects, it turned off my screen every minute which is annoying, in my power Option, my screen is set to never turn when I plug in, I even try to define each presets/profiles of never turn off screen when the plug-in or battery, it helps not at all.

This could get really annoying when I read an article when my keyboard and mouse is not in use.

Thank you for your attention, the hope for a solution soon.

    Details of the laptop:
    Lenovo G400s

    Core i5 - 3230 m

    Windows 8

    8 GB RAM

    128 GB SSD

    1 TB HARD DRIVE

    All the drivers/software updated

Energy management: high power Performance management, optimize the battery, drive energy-saving hard.

p/s: Please let me know if need more information, I will provide as much as possible to fix this.

Okay, my bad, it was my stupid screen saver settings that enable the return to the logon screen after 1 minute.

He was supposed to turn off when I set to (none) but I guess that I was wrong, in any case, this has been solved by "human error."

  • Battery problem: HP Envy 6-1006sa sleekbook

Hi guys forum newbie here just want to ask you a few questions.

I recently bought a second hand HP Envy 6-1006sa sleekbook and I love it.

It was installed at that time, I bought and showed a remaining time of Windows 7 "'8.5 hours" 100% charge on 'power saving mode'. "

I then he wiped and installed Windows 8 and I'm off the amount of time out of the battery. The maximum amount, I get right now would be 6 hours in power saving mode.

Can someone help me understand this? Am I missing some HP battery backup settings, software or something?

Thanks in advance for any help guys I am very grateful that you take the time to answer.

  • Satellite U400 - big noise from cooling modules

    Hello

bought a few months ago Toshiba Satellite U400 and everything was perfect, and I bought it just because I don't like the sounds.
When I surf the net I love that he's quite, but these last 5 days he began to ring.

Toshiba U400 works and it should be for many 'Air' on the side and its just all the time, even if I open IE or MSN or anything like that either, and before she just made some time, but now he often does.

Please help me because it's very embarrassing and it sounds too, and I don't like it, why this departure to East happened now and not before? and what I can do about it?

    thnx.

    Hello

    What you can do?
Well, first you must make sure your modules cooling holes are free of dust.
I recommend to use the jet of compressed air to remove dust of grids and cooling fans.
In most cases the dust prevents the flow of air that causes a higher temperature and therefore the propellers would turn faster.

Secondly, you can change the settings to more battery as energy saver.
If you are using Win XP, then you should check the Toshiba Power Saver.
Here, you can assign the CPU, the speed of treatment and performance at a lower level of cooling

  • Satellite A200 - cannot adjust the brightness of F6/F7

    Hello world

First of all, excuse me for my English ;)

So, I am owner of an A200 and I install my own copy of Windows XP because I don't like Vista (like many...).

Under Vista, my FN - F6 or FN + F7 strives to set the brightness, but NOT XP. Can I use the FN - ESC to mute, etc, but NOT the function FN - F6 and FN + F7.

I install the application 'Save energy', but after a reboot, it does not work. I see the icon (a small battery with both hands... one each side of the battery), the energy saver works because if I unplug my laptop, the brightness drops by a few degrees (and the icon for a bulb change 'orange'.

So, here, something I miss to install or I did not properly confugure?

    Thanks for helping me!

Update you the BIOS to the version of Win XP?

This is necessary, because without this BIOS update some features of the laptop as FN keys would not work properly.

  • Compaq does not start without charger

    First of all:

Product name: Compaq Presario CQ57 301SA

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

My problem is that whenever I try to boot my laptop with only the battery as energy source, it does not start. The equipment starts and everything, but displays only a black screen. No flashing in the keyboard and the power led is displayed.

If I plug in charger and connect it to the laptop, which is the only time that the contineus to laptop to display the startup process.

At first I thought that there may be a problem in the battery, but it is completely charged (100%), said the HP battery check is OK, and whenever I remove the charger after startup and the logon Windows stage, the laptop does not turn off.

Just for the background story: I recently sent my HP laptop for hardware failure and they replaced my motherboard. When I picked up, they turned on without the charger plugged and it starts up successfully. When I turned it on in my own home, this happens.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

    Hello Kazu081,

Did you get this resolved? I thought that since you had the motherboard replaced, and that's when your troubles started, you must call and speak with a representative.  Let them know what is happening and please let me know the results.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Good luck!

  • Issue of consumer power a1

Running 4.0.4 android, with flight mode on, always on wifi and bluetooth off.

I turned it on 3 hours on a full charge. I do not use it, it was in standby for 3 hours.

Now, when I watch the news of the battery, the energy in the last 3 hours is as follows:

-. eve of cell of 82%

    -. 8% android OS

    -. 5% wifi

    -. 4. compressed % idle

    -. screen 1%

My question is: is 82% of cells normal sleep? How do I turn it off to save energy?

    Thank you

Watch cell is essentially an idle process. There is currently no way to remove it. Lenovo of Android versions are versions of telephone vs versions of the tablet. If it was a version of the Tablet would not this process. . And Yes, what you see is normal.

As I understand it, there are a few people enterprising aross the pond who are still working on a CM10 of Android for the A1 version. They indicated that when he's ready for the liberation they will let us know. For now, it is what it is. Lenovo has apparently abandoned all development and support, beyond service of the A1 and the A1107 warrany.

  • Spectrum x 360: screen goes black randomly when on battery and some energy-saving options enabled

    Hello everyone,

I bought this fantastic machine called spectrum x 360 and I love it.

Unfortunately since the early days I'm facing what I think it's a problem of driver/software (not the related material).

This problem only occurs when I'm on Windows, not in the bios or at the startup. JUST IN Windows envinroment, especially after the login, and when the computer was turned off. Sometimes when I use it after a while, randomly.
This occurs only when the spectrum is on battery. The problem does not appear on AC adapter.

Problem: the screen goes black randomly for a few seconds and then reappear, sometimes the entire image on the right slide and there is a part that looks like yellow and corrupt, then goes black and reappears.

Windows Version: I'm on Windows Home 64 bit, build 14393.321 10 (update of the anniversary).

The entire screen works fine for normal operations, no artifacts.

    Replication of the problem
Initially, I was able to reproduce the problem with the driver build 4360 (which is the version of the driver from the HP site). Whenever I loaded the home page of youtube and the banner has started playing on the screen went black sistematicly.
Then I updated the GPU driver through the Device Manager, which has improved my GPU driver to 21.20.16.4494, as of July 25, 2016 and the problem happens much more rarely.
Now I am facing this problem again but Edge works correctly and is not the cause of the problem, it can appear even when I don't do anything with the PC.

I noticed this problem appears when saving options are enabled for the Intel GPU (I'm trying to translate this to English because the GPU driver Panel is in Italian):

    -update panel houses;
    -advanced mode; energy saving

If I disable these options, the problem does not appear or, better, for I've tested so far, he could not displayed when options are not in market, but I have not tested this very long to be sure.

In my opinion, there is a bug in the display driver, or some customizations made by HP causes problems with the driver.
The rest of the computer works correctly.
Any idea to solve this problem? Or should I keep these options turned off power saving?

    Hi, thanks for your help.

I have a passion for COMPUTING and ex-computer SCIENTIST, I am familiar in surveys on hardware/software questions and hope that this post will help some users get rid of this problem.
Black screens and screen corruption has been issued by the option called "auto refresh Panel" energy saving.
I did a lot of hours on battery (condition where this pop ups problem) in these days and the problem didn't show when it was turned off.
To verify that I tried to activate "Panel options self-identity" in certain occasions and, at random, on the first boot of the machine (after being turned off) the problem arises again.
It certainly is a problem with this energy-saving option.
    Now everything works fine.
If the problem appears again, I will post more information.
    Thank you for your support.

I think it would be useful to stick this post on top in this section of the forum, to be useful to other users and being more visible.

  • Portégé R500-10u: energy-saving - the battery life and screen

    Hello
I just bought a Portege R500 10u and I fight with the energy saver utility.

No matter what I do, when I switch to the power of the battery, the phone tells me that the maximum time I have is 2 hours and 45 minutes - even when I do not do anything on the laptop at all.

Furthermore, the screen saver is constantly on all the time. In the public service of electricity of standby, everywhere wherever I could see, the setting is NEVER. When I on the power controls in Windows (I use Windows XP), the screen saver is programmed to start, but I'm not able to change this setting. I get a message that I need to use the Toshiba power saver utility.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    > still not more than 3 hours and 20 minutes under full load, with disabled wifi

You said * ONLY * 3 hours and 20 minutes! Hey Buddy, are you kidding me!
It's more than enough for this laptop! There s nothing wrong. Believe me ;)

  • GO50-80: battery 80% available (plugged in, not charging)-energy management function

I have no idea why or how fix it. Previously, my battery does very quickly.

I messed up when I posted before. It is stuck at 56%. I noticed the power management feature is new to win like last week 10 and has probably improved on my machine so. This is why I had not seen that before I would say. I have dl had the driver of energy management last night and now I have a new battery indicator to start. Guess I'll have to worry not be stuck at 56%, as it's apparently normal now. Thanks for your comments.

  • My new ThinkPad Yoga comes with 3 energy saving modes. Who gives the best battery life?

My new ThinkPad Yoga has these modes in the control panel power options:

    High performance

    Balanced

    Energy-saving

    Energy-saving

Which one should I choose for use of battery? Blanaced, saving energy or Power saver? It is not very clear. Thank you!

Classification of use (worse better) for the management of the power supply.

    1. high performance
    2 balanced
    3. power Saver
    4 energy Saver

For example, energy-saving disable the hard drive on the battery in 5 minutes, while power saving mode turn off the HDD in 3 minutes.

  • Management of energy has said that my battery is illegal?

    How to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hi skullmonkey,.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Could you uninstall and reinstall the driver of Lenovo energy management. This can be downloaded from the link below.

    I hope this helps.

    Concerning

  • Show the three electrical energy in the battery under Windows 7 instead of two

I am using Windows 7 on my laptop, and I usually spend between High Performance (when the power cable is in) and energy savings (when the power cable is not in). When I switch between patterns of consumption, I click the battery icon, and that brings up a list of available power schemes. However, it shows that balanced and saving energy or high performance. It will show only balanced, High Performance or balanced and Power Saver. I have to click "more power options" to select those I want. Is there a way to make energy savings and high performance also well present, or otherwise increase the number of poster eating patterns?

the above seems to have started to work after a reboot. Maybe I made a mistake of syntax on strike 1.

  • High energy impact of Photoshop CC 2015, CEPHmtlEngine Helper constantly being performance-draining my battery!

I just bought a new Macbook Pro and downloaded Adobe Photoshop CC 2015. I have it open and immediately noticed it was draining my battery and I'm even not using the application, it is open just sitting there. I checked the activity monitor, and it shows the energy impact between18-20 when the program is opened. My previous Mac running Photoshop CC 2014 and I could leave that open, reduced in the dock and it is not drain my battery the same as on this new machine running PS CC 2015. To the title of the activity monitor, it shows that the CEPHtmlEngine assistance program has 13 energy impact. What is this "CEPHtmlEngine assistance program? Is it still necessary. In fact, I see two of them in my activity monitor in the drop-down arrow under Adobe Photoshop CC 2015. Why have I not two. I checked my old laptop running Photoshop CC 2014 and there is no such thing CEPHtmlEngine Helper listed below Photoshop CC 2014. Can someone please explain this to me and tell me if it is possible to remove the CEPHtmlEngine assistance program so I stop wasting so much energy to the battery on one of these seemingly useless items. And why I have two of them below Photoshop in activity monitor?

    Thank you. -Jeff
