  • How to clear the BIOS on an HP Pavilion 500-214ed

    Hi all

in a Flash of genius unprecedented I accidentally disabled all the USB ports on my Pavilion 500-214ed. Which now leaves me with a useless system, since both USB keyboard and mouse do not work. So I need to reset the BIOS to factory settings.

I have found the ROM_RECOVERY (E16) jumper on the motherboard, which I guess is that I need to clear the BIOS, but I can't find a manual or something to let me know which jumper settings, I need.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, Steve:

Normally, you can find that info on the motherboard plug page but it isn't here.

Have you tried to unplug the PC and carefully remove the cmos battery room and pressing the power button to remove all residual power to the motherboard?

If all goes well, remove the cmos battery will also clear the BIOS settings.

But if you look at the motherboard first, there are no jumpers labelled CMOS and password?

I have a Macbook 13 "Unibody I bought the day it was released October 14, 2008, and it is an object of value. I took it out yesterday El Capitan running, but it still works. The reason why I wanted to remove this from the storage room is so I can cover if she would support a later version of Mac OS X on WWDC. Then, at the same time, the battery is 100% when I SLEEP. Then, a few moments later (although I already stopped the Macbook), the next morning, it won't work. What should I do? It's vintage on the Apple site.

  • Satellite P30 - battery will not work correctly

    Hi all

I have a Satellite P30 for more than a year now and overall I am very satisfied with this mobile 'desktop '.
The worrying thing is that I keep the laptop high time constant to allow room for the fans. (If they get hot the laptop just turns off).

My question is about my battery about 3 months ago, the problem began, suddenly at random time my laptop can not regocnize battery which mean that even if the cable ca is in hes runnin on battery and goes so goes out after a while. I always leave the battery in the laptop when I use it because the cable ca is not quite stable more unfortunately so I need to keep a book on the cable in order to make it work.
Is it possible that I can claim a new battery or do something about the problem? It is very difficult when I'm workin and all of a sudden the light just goes and I know that I have a max of 30 min before he died.
Please let me know what I can do, thank you

    Alexander Wiegand

    Hi Alexander,.

I don't think that the problem is with your battery, it is more likely to be a bad contact on the ca cable where it plugs into your laptop. In general, the ca card makes an intermittent contact and that the power of fools management system into believing that AC power has been disconnected. It follows that the power, then transfers to battery power and it ejects then until the powers of the unit off.

I managed to solve this problem on my SA30 anchoring the power cable at the back of the laptop so that there is no constraint on the card.

With regard to the problem of overheating, computers laptop modern can generate a lot of heat and requires a lot of cooling air to keep things cool. Make sure that the cooling system is cleaned of dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner pipe placed on the intakes on a regular basis.

    Kind regards

  • Can I change my iMac G3 DV400 SE PRAM Battery?

    Hello

I need to change the battery of LANDAU of my iMac G3 DV400 SE he has not been put in service for a few weeks now. I post here to get a safety advises to avoid death by electrocution myself and to avoid damaging the electronics. Please keep in mind, I am a complete novice and a layman. I have found the battery behind the trap door RAM map Airport - and I intend to change the battery by here rather than remove the entire bottom half of the machine.  In any case, I kept it unplugged for a few weeks. Now, should I get anti static gloves / mast, wrist strap etc,? What tools do I need - for example pliers to remove the battery, or is it safe to do so only with your bare hands? And what would you say to wear clothes and shoes? Is a bed in a carpeted room OK? Or what kind of environment do I do this? Besides, I do myself or must it be handled by professionals?

    Thank you.

You have that gave a lot of thought... Everything you can reach through this opening, as long the iMac is turned off.  Danger (high voltage) is at the back of the CRT, which makes Apple (by design) hard to reach (unless you intentionally take the iMac goes beyond the 'user level').  It's just a battery low voltage, as the replacement of the battery a flashlight.

To avoid the unlikely but possible damage to the Mac, you should discharge static electricity from your body.  Work on a floor without carpet is better.  If you do this on the kitchen table, touch a metal surface ground, like the faucet to the sink.

  • Satellite A500 - Remove the battery when connected to the network?

    Hello

I bought a new Satellite 500 and I would use it as much as possible. I'm not sure the stage of development of this battery. Should I remove the battery when I use the laptop at all times with the net supply?
Or this does not damage the battery longer years yet there is, or is the problem of the destruction of the battery because of the heat and being reloaded frequently persists?

I'm sorry if I could post to redundantly, but it is difficult to search for information, since I'm not a native speaker.
I encourage you just for a small tip for a related thread if available.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

To be honest, I often work with connected AC/DC adapter, but I never removed my battery. Sometimes I decide to work in another room and then I just unplug the AC adapter and that s all the! :)

  • TECRA S2 when battery charging, Wireless drops every 5 min

Hi, I have a very annoying problem.

When I'm surfing wireless at home I have no problem, but when I start to charge my battery, wireless turning off every 2 minutes or so to reconnect immediately.

This problem does not exist when I am in charge battery next to the wireless router. Only when I'm in the living room.

Is that what someone else has this problem or is - someone has a solution for this?

The wireless network card supports different options. In the Wlan card properties, you should find a tab advanced.
There you can change different settings. Please try to disable the power save option WLan Card.

I don't know if it helps but you know train is free ;) m

  • Y55EA K): what battery should I buy?

I got a 601 error message on my battery.

Software support for HP on my laptop says my 'primary battery' had to be replaced.

The HP parts store is nto find any parts at all for my mobile number K0Y55EA.

In the forums, it seems very difficult to know if "Main battery" refers to the large main internal battery to operate your laptop when not connected to the network, or, if this means the small cell that is internally and keep the room time and date when everything elese is turned off.

    I'm not havve external batteries.

    So I have three questions:

I need to replace the part or the LARGE battery internal?

What is the numebr of the party for whom?

Where can I buy it (because it is not useful to store part of HP)?

    Thanks in advance

  • Pavilion 11 mobile TS: battery

Hi, my battery stopped working, it says that it is "plugged in, not charging", it seems that I need a new battery.  The problem is I can not find a battery for this notebook on the HP store, can help you with this question? Are there batteries at low prices for this laptop?

    KC211 wrote:

No, I used the same power cord provided with the laptop. The cord of works fine, fortunately.

It's just a battery issue, I am struggling to find the right battery on the HP Store and the second, I take out the power cord. the pc stops.

Use your HP battery part number and go on eBay and find one that fits your room number.

  • Envy 15 t: corner of the broken battery holder

Hello! I use this 15 t for a subject like a year-and-a-half. The corner of the battery holder (I don't know what you call... I can upload a photo if possible) is broken, which makes the battery rather loose. I wanted to know if you sell this as an accessory, or if there is a way to solve this problem.

Yes, they are called "base box plugs", and they are listed on page 46 of the manual here:

Computer basic pregnant caps (included in the plastic kit) for HP ENVY 15 notebook PC model 763787-001

    You can order here:

I couldn't find it on eBay or amazon or in any other room houses but apparently HP has them in stock.

  • Recommended for battery does not charge if plugged in charger and the system is activated in map mode.

Anyones answer is welcome to the 21/08/11.

Thanks to one that meets responsibly!

    Hi Raymond,

    Possibilities:

    1. bad adapter.  Check the status in the BIOS.  That's what it was when this happened to me about 4 months ago.  The battery even though the battery was fine and worked fine llaptop off voltage AC, BIOS did not recognize it as the appropriate adapter type and therefore not allow.

    2. bad battery.  They go bad--and sometimes a little quickly (as you will notice that if you have an extended warranty on the laptop, it does not include the battery).  Check the status in the BIOS.  Remove the battery, use the air to empty the room and a soft cloth to wipe the contacts.  Reinsert the battery and see if that helps.

3 motherboard problem with connectors or wiring between them.  Very hard to tell her that's it--usually replaced if replacing the other two does not work.

It is unlikely to be software-related.  This reeks of hardware problem.  Contact the manufacturer's technical assistance service and see if they have any suggestions on how to better ID the cause (and get costs for spares for each of the elements so that you know).

I have listed them in my view of probability.  You of that or the other need to find someone with the same computer you that can let you borrow the battery and the adapter long enough to test (then you will probably be able to IDENTIFY the problem).  Or you can buy the pieces one at a time and see which works (I hope the first) - and try to get a guarantee of full refund for any reason, so you don't spend money on parts, that you don't need.  You must send it to the manufacturer for repair or take it to a local computer repair shop good reputation for service.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

PS Si the adapter is plugged into a surge protector, try a different surge protector, or plug it directly into the wall to rule out a defective surge protector.
