  I moved an A B (Oracle 10.2.0.3) Linux partition partition tablespace as follows:
  
  -alter tablespace < tbname > ReadOnly;
  -Copy the data file to the new location
  -alter tablespace < tbname > offline;
  -change the database file rename ' / ora1/datafile1.dbf ' to ' / ora2/datafile2.dbf ';
  -alter tablespace < tbname > online;
  -alter tablespace < tbname > read write;
  -Remove the datafile (s) from the old location.
  
  After that, no space was released in A score.
  
  Using the 'lsof' command, I saw that the old data files are still used by several oracle process (oracle < InstanceName > with the name). A few minutes later, these processes have disappeared.
  
  Why always these process despite the fact that the tablespace has been moved and deleted its old data files? I can kill (kill-9) them next time?

  Old processes can open the file.

  Yes, you can kill-9 (after that you check what they are), or you can kill the session from the database.

  I have an APEX application which the login is authenticated with a password (encrypted) in the database.

  After you import a request of APEX 4.2 to APEX 5.0 to a different database, here is the error I get when I try to connect from page 1:

  If I import this application similarly APEX APEX 4.2 4.2, but to a different database, I get no error and I can't the application United Arab Emirates.

  Thanks for your response.

  You gave me good advice, I was exploring just the look and feel of the APEX 5.0 and it is still a Terra Incognita.

  Although the Advisor provided advice nany to be alert in, I found the problem.

  "PL/SQL errors" referred to in the report of the Advisor stressed (at least) a request that identify the database the user record.

  This query worked very well in the original request of the APEX. So, I could not believe that it is a real "syntax error".

  The problem seems to have been the DataPump data import.

  A subsequent investigation showed that some tables were not created properly. There where some columns missing ID and also the column date was not correct.

  For a table, a column that was missing has been used in a join to identify the user.

  As a result, the column was "ambigously defined."

  I moved a Windows 2008 R2 VM from a 5.1 ESXi host to an ESXi host 5.5 using vCenter Converter Standalone.  The c: / drive system passed largely to where I now have to extend the volume.  Is this normal/expected behavior?  Perhaps the conversion/move creates temporary files I can delete?

  Size of the disk is defined during the conversion and which will not increase by its own during conversion.

  Now, you need to V2V, if you want to reduce the volume.

  I tried to move a virtual machine with the guest OS Windows 8 used in the VMware Workstation 9.02

  my HP desktop with Intel core i7-2600 processor, running Windows 7

  to my Toshiba laptop with Intel core i7-4700MQ processor, running the latest version of Windows 8.

  I did something like that all the time with my old laptop with i7-2630QM running Windows 7.

  It turns out that something changes significantly when the host of the laptop operating system passes W7 to W8.

  After starting the virtual machine on my laptop W8, I clearly stated it had been MOVED and NOT copied.

  Unfortunately when I try to use one of the Office 2010 applications, I get a message that the change of
  HW has been detected, and that I must again request (purchase new license I guess).

  Can someone help me solve this problem. For me the time is important.

  I'm leaving for a business trip to 3 weeks and the old laptop is no longer appropriate.

  It seems to be normal, because the changes to the hardware (RAM, CPU,...)

  may be a reason for reactivation of Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Office.

  I had such a situation, the upgrade of RAM.

  So if you have the license, activate it again.

• Printing from Adobe After moving from program on external hard drive

  I have Acrobat Pro Xi running on a Mac (latest OS). I need to move some files from my Macbook Air to give more space on the HARD drive. I moved the folder Adobe, Adobe Application Manager, Adobe Download Assistant and Adobe Acrobat Pro Xi program on an external drive. However, since doing so, I can't print from the program. For more information, I also moved MS Office through and other programs, but not printing problems.

  There was one that I had to bring anywhere with Adobe, or do I need to reinstall the program again?

  On Windows, or MacOS you can never just move Adobe applications from one hard disk to another and hope they work.

  You must first completely uninstall the software and then reinstall it on the target disk. There are also some system files that Adobe relies on your stay on the system drive and will be installed there regardless of the hard drive, the main part of the application is installed.

  At this point, try to use the uninstall program. It may or may not succeed in removing the application. Then, manually delete the directories that you moved the original. Then, reinstall the software, focusing on the drive to which you want to install, assuming that Setup allows such an option. If the choice of the installation disc is not provided, you may need to consider other options for obtaining sufficient disk space.

• Strange problem after moving from the virtual computer to a new data store

  I am migrating our VM existing (8 in total) a 'problem' RAID to a new table on a new controller and am having a strange problem. Here are the steps I took (host OS is Ubuntu 8.0.4 LTS x 64):

  (1) off the power the virtual computer from the Web interface

  (2) the directories created for each virtual on the new RAID array computer (in this case a RAID 10 array on LSI 9750-8i controller)

  (3) rSync used to copy the data from RAID1 to be RAID2

  4) has created a new data store on the new RAID through the Web Server of VMWare user interface.

  (5) removed VM of the inventory through the Web, their return, added user interface then choose files .vmx on new data store on RAID2

  They have all power save fine... but three of them are not accessible on the network. I can open a console in the Web Server of VMWare user interface and they all run normally... but I can't their ping or access the respective virtual machine Web GUI. It seems quite arbitrary that those who work and those who are not. In this case... the VM that don't work is a license Autodesk, a Squid proxy server and a VM of cactus. All three of these virtual machines are 32-bit Ubuntu Server VM (two 8.0.4 and a 10.0.4)... and are the only Ubuntu VM on this host. It must be signifigant but I'm not see how.

  If I delete these three virtual machines of the inventory again and add to their original location (on the RAID1) they light up AND work normally. A consultant that we were working seemed surprised, as he had also done this experiment with some of the older VMWare products. I don't see how it would be the physical location of the files of the virtual machine. Any ideas?

  We rely on the migration to ESXi soon but in the meantime, we get these a few VM out of this RAID array problem. I'm stuck.

  Depending on the application, it may be enough to reconfigure the IP parameters (they are very probably on DHCP now) for the newly detected virtual NIC.

• File not found after moving from vm again ESXi

  Tried to move a virtual machine to an ESXi 3.5 to another server.  The virtual machine is a Windows 2003R2 domain controller configured with 3 GB of Ram and a hard drive (36 GB in size).

  After downloading and downloading what I believed to be the (scdc01.vmdk 36 GB) virtual disk and the virtual computer file that server would not start filed a complaint against "file not found".

  Found that there is another virtual disk file (scdc01 - 0000001.vmdk about 2 GB insizing).  Other investication showed that the virtual machine is configured to use the scdc01 - 000001.vmdk and not the scdc01.vmdk.

  Because I didn't build the virtual machine, I'm at a loss as to what the "scdc01.vmdk 36 GB drive is for."  I know that its possible to configure a server for its hard drives will grow according to the needs.  How do you verify if this is the case.  Is there a way to check if a virtual disk file is used by a virtual machine?  If it's Setup to grow is there nothing wrong with the execution of a domain controller installation Windows in this way.

  000001 file is an instant vmdk.  It relies on an another vmdk.  It should be named something like scdc01 - flat hard and also several GB in size.

  Make sure you copy this file in place and it should work.

  The virtual machine is based on the snapshot based on a parent vmdk.   scdc01.VMDK is a file descriptor, which also relies on the vmdk base or instant capture.  When stereotypes are present, it is based on the snapshot.  Otherwise on the parent - flat hard

  Can anyone advise on where to find the drivers?

  I have a laptop Inspiron 640 m.  It has been upgraded to Vista (which I absolutely hated) by Dell, so I took it upon myself to reinstall Windows XP.  Needless to say I now have terrible problems with drivers.

  I get the 'Assistant new hardware detected' for the following drivers;

  -Ethernet controller

  -network controller

  -video controller (vga compatiable)

  -sm bus controller

  I can't what to install on the Dell site.

  I downloaded the something which was means to have drivers for Inspiron 640 m, but it failed, so I thought I'd do a separate download... but I had no joy.

  Anyone got any ideas?

  I contacted system administrator to retrieve images of backup but does not seem to work...
  Is it possible that it can not be restored? I've been to move this directory and change names several times in the last days before deleting...
  All the answers? Recover my data?

  Objects deleted on network drives are forever lost to the operating system, you will need to use data recovery software.  You must not use the network drive until you retrieve your files, or else you can overwrite the files while you are using the disk and make recovery impossible.
