BBMSP

How is manipulated to BBM messaging? There is no way to send a message to the BBMSP. Y at - it's going to be a different version with added e-mail or messages sent by other means?

Session stuff is not yet supported. I think it has been mentioned in a webcast/session Jam of the Americas in San Jose in September, but was not going to be ready for the launch.

I also * vaguely * remind hear something to the effect that it may be * removed * plan for now, and if that's true, then I just don't know where I heard it, but also have no idea if anything would be scheduled for replacement.

  • BBM ProfileBox icons - created by the user

    Hello

I connect my application to BBM and I was wondering if it is possible to have icons for profile box application to be generated by the user.

For example, a user takes a photo of something he possesses, and I would like to use this photo as an icon with the id 1 for example (if the user changes their photo, I would record this new image with id 2 and so on).

On another device, an icon with id = 1 would have led to a totally different picture, because the user would take a picture of something different.

    If this will work?

I am concered because I read this (native basic docs): http://developer.blackberry.com/native/reference/bb10/com.qnx.doc.bbmsp.lib_ref/topic/bbmsp_user_pro...

You can use any image you like for a profile box icon, as long as it's less than 333 x 333 in size (119 x 119 and less than 15 KB is the ideal size).  You need just to register the images before using.  See the example here.

  • Issues of ANE BBM...

I have about 60 percent of the files headers BBM social platform focused in a way to 1:1 (just a c/as combo wrapper that calls the same function in the BBM SP) but I hit a few roadblocks. I did not quite understand how to convert and the classes/structures between native code and as3 (apparently it is possible) and feel it may take another week or so to do, but I want to be able to get it this week from the 10K and BFBB deadlines have been pushed back. I did not use the BBM SP many native or java and am largely unfamiliar with her, so I want to ask in uses. I can understand there is no much need for more than one of the structs BPS or BBMSP event unless you need functionality multithreaded, but for the rest of the structs: profile, contact, image, list of contacts; is there a big need more an instance of each object? And if there is, the amount will vary greatly or it will usually be a number small or coherent? I ask this question so I can decide if you want to create a table of structures and manage the creation/deletion of them myself and assing object ID passed back instead of success for a number of functions or should go with one of the data structures c ++ (table card, hash, etc) and lett the system handle?

I'm not 100% familiar with BBM and its API. Simple is better most of the time. If the AIR apps customer wants to manage all these data objects, let.

Another thought if you go to data objects from cache, is that C/C++ is more effective in making that time AS3 (trail), and if it's one thing to request/response, it can be done in the thread the donkey with little extra treatment to the AIR application.

Here are the right questions to ask jdolce. He has much more experience with ANEs can is best suited to ask him how to better manage data objects.

  • BarcodeDetector more RegistrationHandler.cpp for connection of platform BBM surveys will not work

    Hi all

I'm writing an application that will scan qr codes using the camera in the qml with a sensor attached barcode object. It works fine, but I want to connect my application to the bbmsp, and I used the example code provided by Blackberry in the code of RegistrationHandler.cpp/hpp.  Once I create the object:

    RegistrationHandler * registrationHandler = new RegistrationHandler (uuid, this);

The scanner no longer works.  It works before adding to this and with this line of commented code, it works fine. So I can choose, operation connection to BBMSP, or barcode. I can not get both to work together. I checked that it is this exact line of code isolation, nothing else happens.

Can anyone maybe suggest some possible reasons for this and suggest what I might be able to do about this please, because it must have left me stumped for 3 days?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, thanks for the response.

the scanner itself did not work as I said - it has absolutely nothing and would not bar codes detect, viewfinder remained open, and even debug commands in all signals detection returned nothing, suggesting without barcode could be found. However, with the independent example exact same codes have been scanned.

I have an update now - to trace the problem that I have commented the code line by line. Close unexpectedly when I raise the code line by line, it worked very well, and now the scanner returns bar codes. The problem settled, effectively without change in the code.  Very confusing... thank you for your reply but
