  To get small icons in your Start menu

  Click Start on the taskbar, and then select Properties from the context menu.
  Ensure that the selected option of Start Menu as ist and click Customize to the right of the Start Menu option.
  This will display the Customize Start Menu dialog box.
  Use the Option Select an icon of Sice to Programms and now select small icons

  To configure your display appearance, wants to get small icons on your desktop

  Right click on an open area of the desktop and select Properties.
  Click the appearance tab.
  Click on 'effects' (in my Version of XP in German), perhaps you will need to click on Advanced.

  In my XP there is a "huge symbols" choice, if you have this choice, remove the hook.

  I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused, however the pane on the right is a central element of the user interface & can not be disabled permanently.

  I apologize if I chose the wrong forum for this.    HP Pavilion P6610f Windows 7 family Ed Office.  Internet Wi - Fi of 64-bit (Qwest DSL) middle of experience in technical (I think).  Windows Defender No Windows Live Security Essentials yet, (oops!)  When I signed out of AOL and returned to my desktop, the taskbar, start icon and menu start would not appear.  I tried CTRL + ALT DELETE, to try to find out if a program is interfering, (nothing was running) could not arrested except to do it manually, so I did and pressed conitnually f8 when starting upwards.  I tried 'last best configuration' (did not help) went to HP Support Assistant, ((Heureusement, la barre de HP advisor était en haut de mon écran de bureau) I tried all diagnostic & troubleshooting steps HP Support Assistant.) When I tried to go to Windows Explorer from there, or attempted to open the configuration of my system, he kept saying that the (HAPSLC) (or something close) leave work and he wanted to know why, but never did. I tried it 4 times.  I was hoping to reset back a few days but could not find a way to access this page. Scared to try something else. I did a factory reset on September 1, 2012. Have a record of system repair that was made in may 2012. I think that Windows was the installation of the updates at the time wherever I discovered that these things were not working.  You have any advice would be greatly appreciated. Its really annoying I can't do anything because most of the sites have login at the top of the screen and I can't connect to anything.

  This problem may be caused by the Yahoo! toolbar as scopes as well down and covers the top of the browser window, allowing links in this part of the screen not clickable.

  Please go to the library Module, then click on the picture in the Menu bar and then click the stacking.

  From there please select expand all stack them.

  It should show all the images if they are virtual copies.

  I got my new computer with Windows7 installed two weeks ago.  My problem is that all of a sudden I can access is no longer the contents of all folders.  If I double click on the "computer" folder or the folder "Drive C" or anything else, I don't see anything; without opening the file appears on the screen.  However, if I look in the Task Manager, the folder I tried to open is displayed as "running."  But the folder does not appear on the screen.  It seems so that Windows Explorer is running, but does not properly.  This problem only occurs under my log-in user (which is a user of the administrator).  There are 4 other users 'Standard' on the computer and the problem does not occur on their desktop computers.

  The last thing I did before this problem started to happen was to go to start-> games and I tried briefly one of the games 'free trial '. Of course, I do know for sure that the game is what has caused the problem, but it was the last thing I did before I noticed the problem.  Previously, the files opened normally.

  Any suggestions?

  You run any virus protection software?  If this isn't the case, I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials.  It is light, goes fast and is free from Microsoft.

  If you are not infected, a possible step could be to try to use system restore to roll back to a time before the problem began.  Click Start, type 'Restore' and then select the system restore.  Choose a date before you had problems and follow the instructions.

  You can hide the tools constantly right pane by doing this:

  1. go in the Edit menu. then Preferences..., select the 'Documents' category on the left (the second from the top) and in the right, uncheck "pane open tools for each document. Press OK to dismiss the preferences pane.

  2. then open any PDF file and hide the pane tools by SHIFT + F4 or by clicking on the thin partition between the page and the tool pane.

  3 close the player.

  In the next time on when you use the drive, you do not see the tool pane. You can still get it by clicking on the thin margin to the right of the display of the page (where the Tools pane will remain hidden) and activate it by activating the preference above again permanently.
