  I guess that your WRT54G is set on "IP address local" 192.168.1.1 and that your DHCP server is "activated" and the range of DHCP servers is always set to the default value of 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149 - is that correct?

  If so, your Blu - ray player should be connected when the option "using DHCP".  If you have a long cable (especially more than 30 feet), make sure that you use a cat5e or cat6 high quality cable.  Have you tried to close down the Blu - ray the WRT54G and using a short cable that you know works?  If this is not the case, try this and see if it works.

  If you can not always get the Blu - ray to connect, then try to set the Blu - ray in a static LAN IP address.  Note that a static LAN IP address must be outside the range of the DHCP server, and it cannot end with 0, 1 and 255.  For example, try 192.168.1.20 (assuming that you do not use this address elsewhere).  You must also set the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, default gateway to 192.168.1.1 and the DNS server on 192.168.1.1.  Note that some devices may not use DNS server to the proxy of the router at 192.168.1.1, so if this setting does not work, then insert your real address in Server Internet DNS (found in the router on the status tab).

• BDP-S350: problems AFTER firmware update

  I recently bought a copy of "Guardians of the Galaxy" on blu - ray, and when it arrived I put in my player SONY BDP-S350 and watched all of the 2D version of the film.  At this time there the S350 was running version 07.1.009 firmware.

  Then, I got the brilliant idea to do better all by updating my firmware.  After a bit of difficulty (entirely my fault - RTFM) I've successfully upgraded to the version of the firmware 07.2.026.

  I just tried to play the same disc of "Guardians of the Galaxy" that I saw before the upgrade and the S350 reports it is unrecognizable and is yet to play.

  Other, older, blu - ray discs play normally, and regular DVD movies play too.

  Anyone had this happen with a BDP-S350?  I know that firmware update is not removable... advice?

  I solved it!

  I put a USB in the port to "EXT", thinking that it would so add wonderful new capabilities to my BDP-S350.   Instead, he sprayed some features and made it impossible to play a blu - ray disc that plays perfectly well than a week ago.
