BDP-S580 white screen after startup

I've owned my player for several years and had zero problems with it.  However, it now turns off after startup.  I see the sony blu ray logo, then the next screen has the blue streak fell on it (I call it the loading screen) and then the screen goes white, and the signal is lost.  On the real player, however, everything looks normal.  The display shows the home page, it responds to the remote control to open and close the drive.  If I touched the game, I get the meter to display and advance but I get no sound and no video on my tv.  Indeed, after a few minutes my self to stop the countdown appears and turns off the TV because no signal detected.  My audio system (which is connected between the player and the TV) shows as it loses the signal dropping HDMI icon which is initially present when loading the blu - ray player and the logo screen is present.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh dear, my apologies!

I give this advice to so many people, I forgot that you actually wrote, sorry!

I noice that you have your BD player that is connected to your audio system, can you give me the make and model number? Alternatively, you can try to reset this device if possible. Also please be sure to check that your HDMI connection wires are firmly held down, sometimes they come loose over time.

Another suggestion, that you can try is to turn your BD drive and unplug the power supply for a few minutes before you reconnect the power and turn it back on again.

If the issue is not fixed please visit this link below and perform these troubleshooting steps, please not, some are model specific and does not apply however it is recommended that you try to change the screen resolution by following these instructions.

There is no picture of a Blu - ray disc player and the screen is completely black or flashes.

    Hello LA_Hay,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?

A problem with the card installed on your system, might be a major cause of the problem. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Try to start your system in a State of services necessary to the operation and a minimum set of drivers enabled, called Safe Mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: If you do not have the white screen in safe mode, try to clean the system startup:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: See "How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as usual after a repair.

If the problem persists, try Method 2.

    Method 2:

    Update your graphics card.

    1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click the Managerof peripheral . If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of hardware categories, find the display adapters and select the device driver you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
    3. Click the driver tab, click Update driver, and then follow the instructions. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information, visit the below mentioned link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

If you are not able to update the device driver via windows update, you can visit your computer or graphics card manufacturer's Web site and download & install the latest driver.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

If you check the Toshiba document you would see that your Satellite P300 is not related to this issue.

In your case I would recommend upgrading the BIOS and graphics driver.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.

    Hello

    Its hardware problem or software.
Start the laptop in safe mode means that some essential software process would be disabled and the system would use only a few basics of essential equipment.

So even if the laptop runs correctly in safe mode, it could be a hardware problem.

That's why I think only with the help of HARD drive recovery would be the best way to know what's wrong here...
