Before OS Server health check

Hello

If I want to install the new server or reinstall the old, is the health check of any server provided by DELL before installing OS?

Thank you

"Also this software is compatible with all Dell servers?

Most.  In the compatibility section of the download page, it will give the list of servers runs on this particular version.

"I guess this iso is bootable, if I understand the txt file.

Yes.  You download and run the file, it will create an ISO bootable, you can record and burn yourself or burn directly to CD.

On the T710, you can go to F10 and diagnostics, choose system services startup options.

Some sites on the internet suggest to get rid of this warning by setting these two keys, the default value 0, but they already are.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_DLLs HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_DLL

There is nothing in the 'Data' column for these two registry keys. And there is no list of DLLS.  The string in the warning count is 0, so I don't really know what is the cause.

    Old_geekster,

I know that this is your best advice but I really don't want to go there. Up is simple, get the programs and files on the computer; not so much.  And then there of all the bloatware to get rid again.

Several sites indicate that this is not a problem, even if there is a list of libraries, as it has to do with the code and can be ignored as long as are listed in the DLL acknowledged regarding confidence of applications.

At the end of my Wininit he says the warning message string is 0 and it lists all the libraries. One source suggests that it is a false alarm since no DLL is actually loaded.

I looked for someone who had a warning Wininit where string = 0 and no list. I found this conversation: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/custom-dynamic-link-libraries-are-being-loaded-for/80497a24-1b98-4705-93cc-32d67b5947d1

On the second page, there is this suggestion of No.Compromise on May 24, 2010:

"In the registry, change the value from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs from 1 to 0, restart and check if the event in question is still connected."

(Also would check if HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs has been set to 1 and if so, change it to 0).

Note the value to check is LoadAppInit_DLLs of type REG_DWORD, rather than LoadAppInit_DLLs of type REG_SZ. »

    May 25, 2010, he adds:

"For the moment, it won't affect anything else, if AppInit_Dlls is empty.  LoadAppInit_Dlls is an indicator that tells Windows to "respect" (load the dll in the AppInint_DLLs) the AppInit_DLLs value.

Older, pre-Vista apps will not know to LoadAppInit_DLLs a value of 1, so the dll they would add to this place could not be loaded.  It can be considered a good thing, because it is a quick way to get the (good and bad) code loaded into the address space of each loaded process user32.dll (practically everything), which deals with the AppInit_DLLs.

New apps are common sense for LoadAppInit_DLLs setting so they put 1 and also add components to AppInit_DLLs.

In your case, it seems that some program added DLLS to AppInit_DLLs, LoadAppInit_DLLs set to 1, and then the dll have been removed (manually? program cleaning? uninstall program?) AppInit_DLLs, but LoadAppInit_DLLs was restored to the default of 0 (or not being is not present at all).

"So, our exploration indicates that Windows based the decision to record the event on"Custom Dynamic Link Libraries loading for all applications"for the LoadAppInit_DLLs parameter, regardless of the content of the AppInit_DLLs value" (it was marked as a solution but the instructions are in the post on May 24, 2010).

I did this and the warning of Wininit disappeared.

    It worked after I changed HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs, but I went ahead and changed HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs .

I never changed anything in the registry before; big no no. But this person instructions and reasoning were clear enough even I could understand and it worked.

    Thank you

  • Cisco NAC server and check active number? Would this work?

    Hi all

A client has achieved a question when we introduced Cisco NAC today.  They wondered, lets say, a client of Cisco NAC agent installed may be connected to the network switch. It has all valid requests and patch levels on his machine (posture validation check pass)

However, even if the customer takes the position of all the parameters, they want to know that if the host name of the client (for most Windows laptops) does not exist in their active database (this database is a database of estate number which is in a similar format or .csv) posture validation must fail.

Have you met such request like this before? Is there a function on the NAC server which checks a field against an external database as an active database?

    See you soon.

    Dumlu,

Currently, it is not possible. You can create controls who can check values locally, but not against external data warehouses, so for this card against your thinking, NAC would have to know all the names of workstation before hand and then check against that. It is unwieldy and very very difficult to scale.

If it's something you and your client think would be a good addition (and it sounds like a good idea) Please engage with your account team and ask them to request a feature for you.

    Thank you

  • vShield Edge 5.1.2 load balancing HTTPS health check possible?

    Hello

We expect configure edge gateway Load Balancing Service using vCloud Director 5.1.2 and vCloud network and security 5.1.2

Is it possible to configure health checking with HTTPS and configure the URI to use for the control?

    Best regards

    jmarschall

    Hello

You have 3 options to check on the edge of health:

1 TCP: checking the simple TCP connection

2 HTTP: sends HTTP GET using either the default value {/}, which is accessible by default on almost any server, but may be changed to any other URI.

3 HTTPS: sends hello SSLv3 client messages and check the server Hello coming from the virtual machine. No URI is included.

If you CAN do health checks for HTTPS, but NOT for any custom URI. Instead, it checks for valid SSL beyond the normal TCP communications.

Hello again and thanks for posting back.

First of all, here is a link to your systems support page.

Now that you are running a Vista machine.  In other words, it has been chugging along for awhile now.

First thing you want to do is make a backup of all your data.  Music, Photos, Documents and so on.

Then do a full restore of the system.  The reason is that your computer is that the data on it are displaced, written and erased many times leave stains on your hard drive that are sales (magnetic shadows of old data).  Thus, your operating system becomes a mess.

Perform a recovery of the system (Windows Vista) HP

You should actually do this once a year to keep your system clean and happy.  The computer is no different from any other machine.  As you want to change the oil and clean the car from time to time.  Your laptop must be maintained.

There is software out there on the market, you can buy that will help you to clean your operating system and maintain your system registry database.  All of this helps.  Especially if you don't know what to look for and what places on your OS with these unnecessary files and the dust bunnies tend to hang out and start causing problems within the system.

If you do not have the recovery partition or if you are not able to access for some reason this link will be of great help.

    Hello

    Try the following

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by opening windows control panel, open programs and features, make the entry for HP Support Assistant right click and select uninstall.  Once this process is complete, restart the laptop.

Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant of the page on the link below - the download links are to the bottom of the page.
