I went through all the help screen and suggestion (usually for me to check things that worked perfectly the day before) I finally find something that worked for me - I've disabled 'FT Deep Dark 10' tab 'appearance' - video stutters is more - although the fact that I had this theme installed for about a year with no problems led me to where I started... It is clearly a problem of Firefox.
