Bing desktop / wallpaper on Windows 8.1 RT (Nokia 2520 & Surface 2)

How can I get the Nice daily Bing of screen on my RT devices?

There is no App, no theme... nothing there. Cannot find anything on this subject online.

Thanks for your help!

Sharief,

I think that you don't understand the original question. I would try to explain once again.

It is not any display or display the wallpaper from Bing daily.

Windows 8.1 (PC, workstation, laptop), you have the option to install Bing Office - for example - and have the daily Bing Wallpaper applied automatically, every day at your office (and the Startscreen if you choose).

On Windows Phone 8, you also have the option to select the Bing daily to be your photo Lockscreen wallpaper.

On Windows 8.1 RT there seems to be no option for the daily Bing Wallpaper applied automatically, every day at your office (and the Startscreen if you choose).

A Bing App on the store would be great, but as I said earlier - it is not available in the store for Windows 8.1 RT

Then... How can I have the daily Bing wallpaper automatically applied to my 8.1RT computer as I do on other 8.1 devices?

Thank you.

I found a 3rd party app earlier that replaces the Bing app that was available on Windows 8 and re-activates this feature for Windows 8.1 RT

It's called 'Daily photo.

It's a shame, Bing / MS does not provide this functionality out of the box (or more).

  • Problems of Windows Vista with paper Magentic desktop wallpaper. __

When Magentic is set randomly change desktop wallpaper, as soon as a few programs are open, the screen goes white between applications, & sometimes annihilate the taskbar altogether.
What I don't understand is why, with half of the memory & half the capacity of the hard drive, my old computer running Windows XP Pro, has no this problem.
Don't want to upgrade to Windows Vista, but the OS came with my new laptop.
Is there a chance that this problem will have been resolved in Windows 7.
So far, this isn't progress, & for people who also use their computer for a living, this kind of problem in what is supposed to be an updated operating system does not give one the feeling that Windows is no longer a platform that can be trusted with the exception of frivolous folk.

    Hi Buntyp,

Like you, I like so much the program Magentic but had the same problem. I have three children and each of them have a laptop. Two of them have Windows Vista and other Windows 7. I installed Magentic in each computer and had to uninstall the program because the screen turns white when used for a long time.

I suggest that uninstall you the program, use the desktop and screensaver provided by Windows and write a note to the developer team Magentic explaining your problem. I think it is a bug in the Magentic program that came out with the new OS (Vista and Windows 7). I hope that they solve the problem in the near future to use the program once more.

    Good luck

  • sound does not work on desktop since installing windows 7

We have recently upgraded to windows 7 XP and we lost our sounds on most computers. When you plug the headphones to get us a red x on the speaker in the taskbar. It asks for a user name and admin password and still does not work. When you do a test it says all the internal speakers work. There is no sound with or without headsets once red x. We tried to install the drivers and have failed. Help!

    Hello...

See if the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor has nothing to say about the audio-

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=20

Is there a red or yellow X for audio (or other) in Device Manager?

    START | type devmgmt.msc . Select devmgmt.msc. Tab 'View' - 'show hidden devices '.

Run the DirectX Diagnostics - it will provide information on audio.

START | type dxdiag | Select dxdiag.exe. desktop wallpaper of dxdiag - "save all information". Save it as a text file

Download dxdiag output to OneDrive - https://onedrive.live.com/

Please provide more information about what happens when you try to install the audio drivers, i.e., there is no shortage?  All messages?

Please provide the link for the ausio drivers you are trying to install.

Has been updated the BIOS?  If this isn't the case, please check for a BIOS update.  Well, there are cases of audio problems after updates Windows 7, including my own system.  I have upgraded Vista to W7, and fortunately, HP has released an update of the BIOS for my laptop which fixed the audio problems.

  • Impossible to change the wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter.

original title: Windows 7 Starter wallpaper!

Seriously one you can't change the wallpaper on Windows 7 starter. Of course, that I understand that this version of Windows is expected to be very light on has to run smoothly on netbooks... but F---ing screen? Microsoft remembers that they always write operating systems right? My dinosaur, Nokia cell phone from 5 years ago allow you to change the wallpapers.  They left the gadget feature but no background screen! This really proves to me that Microsoft has absolutely no idea of what they do.  Windows 7 comes on just about all netbook now from this current holiday season.  So here's my question... Why would anyone want a netbook windows 7 when XP (earlier than prior windows operating system 7) had more features it does? Apple is looking for better and better. I don't even have a netbook for Christmas, and even though I really wanted one, I'm very happy that I don't have. I'm not going to get one at all now if its windows 7 on it.  I'll wait for the Apple tablet, and that's all.  What do you mean Microsoft?

    Hello socratesman,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

In Windows 7 Starter, you are not allowed to change the wallpaper. You can't even replace the image by default by another because the system compares the hash of file of your background desired with the hash of the file of the default wallpaper.

You need to upgrade to a more full version of Windows 7:

  • I can't change wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter

    Original title: wallpaper

My Acer laptop has windows 7 starter edition. A few days ago, I met a problem of the missing desktop wallpaper and become black. I tried to solve this back, but I can't. I can't change wallpaper?

    Here are a few references...

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-desktop/unable-to-change-Windows-7-Starter-wallpaper/cf67c2ad-FD07-465A-9173-5f6771c334b6

The above discussion has a lot of messages, but READ THEM ALL before attempting to change your wallpaper... those who have tried to change the paper painted made them unusable PC... Be careful.

    http://www.TechSpot.com/guides/264-change-wallpaper-on-Windows-7-Starter/

    http://www.Instructables.com/ID/Windows-7-Starter-easy-way-to-change-wallpaper/

You can also try searching for additional references.

Microsoft has not provided a way to change the wallpaper, but the references above each show a way to do it. I have not validated/tried the methods described in the links above.

Don't forget to back up all critical files (and make a restore point) before making changes to your system.

  • Display quality desktop wallpaper?

The display of desktop wallpaper is always poor and does not properly handle the colors. My monitor is calibrated correctly with the pantone huey pro.  Color display correctly in photoshop and viewer of images, but not on the desktop.  How can I fix it?  Is there a setting somewhere that I have to change?

I knew someone had a similar problem the thread below; However, it was never completely. http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/GettingReadyforWindows7/thread/f18065a9-25b6-462C-b593-a1d8bb8eeb9a

Response of Azam is misleading...  A JPEG file can be displayed as wallpaper and it can look very well.

Your image itself carries an other than sRGB color profile?  Based on your description, I bet for this.

If so, open the image in Photoshop and convert the color profile sRGB via the Edit -> convert to profile menu, then save the image, then place it during the desktop display.

Windows does not in general, image color management and so it assigns (guess of any image is in) the sRGB color space.

  • Impossible to change the wallpaper of windows 8.

Change the title of the thread: wallpaper of windows 8

I just installed windows 8 cant seam to change the background color from black to something easy to see

I found a way around the problem.  Open the run (start + R key) and open the local Group Policy Editor, gpedit.msc

Under the User Configuration: go to administrative templates, office and then click the desktop folder.  Open and allow the enable Active Desktop.  Then, open the desktop wallpaper and allow as well.  After you activate the wallpaper desktop, in the Options box, type the path to the image that you want as the background.  Apply and restart the computer.  After the reboot, I went back to customize and just click on the wallpaper you saved (it should appear) and then it should appear.

    Good luck.

PS, I have improved three computers (2 desktop computers, 1 laptop) to Windows 8 Pro and only had this problem on a desktop computer.

What is the best strategy to migrate data from Windows to one Mac to another? I use Parallels Desktop to run Windows on my current Mac but want to use Bootcamp on my new.

If it is only the data (not apps) I use Dropbox. It turned out to be the best way to move things between the side Mac and the bootcamped Windows of my iMac side. I don't see why it would not work to move data from a virtual machine installation of Win to a BootCamp installation.

  • Desktop SMS and Windows Mail are not working together

    Hello

thought I'd post here here as having a few issues with my Windows Mail but my desktop computer suffers the same problems and on a Vista forum where I posted my problem a few very useful told me who to try to solve the problems.

One of them suddenly realized I had said my laptop is a Toshiba, and apparently the Desktop SMS and Windows Mail are not working together so that the person suggested unless I use it to uninstall apparently amongst the technically trained its known that these two programs do not like each other and explain why my office is not the problem but the laptop don't.

After you have reset the Touch of Windows Mail (tutorial on a site http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/ vista) wood don't be put off by vistax64 as site 32 and 64 and followed great reset Windows Mail from Brink (do not restore all mail) then uninstalled Desktop SMS and touch of the drink no more mail questions that gave me problems almost every day with marking than reading/sending project messages.

So had to click forward then remove those bits and complete the email to send and touch wood since doing these two things as soon as send an email to the box shipment or project to obtain the number of emails in parentheses, whereas before it wouldn't happen unless I closed the program and then reopened.

Hoping that these solutions have solved my problem and wanted to share it with someone else who wants to read this thread and you recommend Vista 64 because they are all very useful there and speak in non-technical terms for those of us not technically trained.
