  • BIOS password reset please help

Hello.  I have a laptop that I am trying to erase and re - establish.  It was given to me and it turns out it's a locked BIOS.  Three unsuccessful password attempts gives a screen locked.

The laptop is a HP Compaq 8710p

    The P/N is #ABA KR886UA

Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

    K.

    Hi MrToaster...

I'm sorry that you are having a BIOS password problem with your 8710p.

Reset the password is quite simple and is covered in Chapter 4 of the Guide Service and Maintenance:

    1. Shut down the computer. If you don't know if the computer is off or in hibernation, turn on the computer and then stop it through the operating system.
    2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
    3. Turn off the power to the computer first, unplug the power cord from the power outlet and then unplug the power adapter from the computer.
    4. Remove the battery (see battery on page 50).
    5. Remove the battery from the time clock (RTC) (see battery RTC page 80) real.
    6. Wait about 5 minutes.
    7. Replace the RTC battery and go back to the computer.
    8. Connect the power to the computer. Replace any battery at this time.
    9. Turn on the computer.
    10. All passwords and all CMOS settings have been cleared.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As shown in #10 above, this will also clear the CMOS memory on the computer!

If you are not comfortable performing these steps, contact HP support for your country / region and they can help you in getting the machine.

    I hope this helps!

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600: reset my admin password - lost please help

So I look like everybody else.  I got a new router and I guess I must have placed a password in my settings a long time ago because when I went back to scan an email, that he was asked to update the web settings so I went to admin and a pop up showed for user name and password for192.168.0.11:443.  I tried many times not knowing what to do and I locked.  I tried to turn off my computer, but the printer asks to enter a PIN as well.  What the devil do I ;-)  I just need to reset it so I can email my papers to work and set up my wireless again... Thank you very much.  I love my printer and want to continue using it...   Eileen

    Hi @schuetz0710,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see you're wondering how to remove the administration user name and password for your HP Officejet 8600 printer. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

The administrator settings are configured in the built-in web server locally from your end. If you do not know the login information, we will need to reset the settings by making the semi Full Reset. This will set the printer back to the default settings and the network must be configured again. I can send you this information in a private message. In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

I'm not able to remove my bitlocker to my external hard drive password. Please help me out, it is very important to me...

    Hello

    1. what happens when you try to delete the password?

    2. you receive an error message/code?

    3. have you forgot the password?

The best way to remove the bitlocker password is to follow these steps.

    (a) connect your external hard drive in the computer.

    (b) click Start, click Control Panel.

    (c) while on the Panel, the icon find Bitlocker Drive Encryption , click

    (d) you will see all the partitions on your hard disk and their encryption status, whether encrypted or not.

    (e) on one that is encrypted, you will find an option to turn off bitlocker. Click on it and wait for the machine to decrypt.

  • How to remove password BIOS (Satellite A30) - Please help

Hello. In the company I work, there is a Toshiba Satellite A30 having a BIOS password.

I was asked to remove the password and, inside the BIOS, I was able to clear the password (at least that is what I thought at first):

BIOS asked the current password and I typed, then requested a new password and I just pressed the ENTER key, and when I was asked to retype the new password I pressed ENTER again.

After that, I saw that BIOS showed "PASSWORD (clear)" and I saved the changes and exit.

To my surprise, I was asked a password even once, I just pressed the ENTER key and it showed an "INCORRECT PASSWORD" message and the same message when I type the old password!

I don't know if there was a password of Toshiba when the computer was purchased, but the manual that I downloaded here does not mention that.

Is there a way to fix this? I do not understand what can happen!

VERY GOOD THANKS in ADVANCE and thanks again for reading.

    Hello

If the correct password is not for you there is no way to remove them. It can be removed only by the authorized service partner. Please contact them and they will do it for you. I guess it can't be expensive.

    Check this page http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?pf=true.
