black bar on top of windows

Hello

Here's my question:

For some reason, I suddenly have a black bar on the top of each window.
I don't get this black bar in safe mode.
I always get this black bar with all the disabled extension (equivalent to safe mode)
I don't get this black bar when I select in the title bar in 'customize '.

Seems to be related to the title sort of bar...

I use the latest version of FF (42) on OSX 10.11.1

Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Best,
-J-

Hello juliendalcol, try Disabling graphics hardware acceleration.

You will need to restart Firefox before this takes effect so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

Then perform the following steps:

  1. Click the menu button

    then select the Options under Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.

  2. Select the Advanced Panel, then on the general tab.
  3. Uncheck the use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

This solve your problems? Please report to us!

If the problem is resolved, you should check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in these articles in the knowledge base:

Acceleration is disabled in SafeMode except all the extensions and the material.

Thank you.

  • How to get rid of the black bars on the top, bottom and sides?

    I export an Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3) project that is in HD (widescreen) format. The original video is HD, the size option I have chosen for the project is HD, all that shows when I look into the window of the program. I admit I'm a bit of a first novice user, I don't need a little help to export as there are a ton of options. That's what's happening: when I export to AVI or Quicktime my project comes out with black bars all around. Not like the black bars on the top and down like when you have a large screen video exported to a size 4:3 standard, but almost like a 16:9 video, narrowed down a bit with a black box of 16:9 set around it. What the hell I am doing wrong. I'm sure this has something to do with an option on the export, but I tried messing around with the options to export about 20 different ways. I'm desperate! Please help!

    Thanks in advance!

    To help you understand a little more about your problem

    The reason why you have black bars on the top and the bottom of your exported image is that you placed a "small picture within a large framework.

    First makes up the difference with black borders.

    Go back a step... which is your final requirement for this story for example Youtube, web, broadcast, PowerPoint etc...

    The answer to this determines the solution because it becomes a quality factor.

  • Calendar resumes always full screen with black bars at the top and bottom

    Calendar always starts like that. I can reduce and enlarge the window, and the problem disappears when the application is open. But once I leave the app and re - open, I have the black bars and minimize/maximize again to get the calendar view full-screen. Seems to happen on the screen of my Air and when you are connected to an external monitor.

    Hello

    I have the same problem.  I had this bug with 10.11.x for awhile and then he suddenly stopped.

    I don't really know how...  Maybe it was a cleaning with Onyx, but I'm not sure.

    Since the upgrade of 10.11.4 today the bug came back.  I ran Onyx on the system without a bit of luck so far.

    @xryancx: do you have that you have installed a beta version of Mac OS X?  It was my case (El Capitan GM) but I did upgrade to the official, as soon has - it is available on the Mac App Store.

    Some people think that I've noticed is that the bug does not affect view DAILY.

    Step to reproduce:

    1. Calendar launch (you'll get the bug full screen)
    2. Exit full screen
    3. Click on daily view
    4. Return to full screen mode
    5. Calendar of quit smoking
    6. Calendar lunch again (there is no bug with day mode)

    Hello

    I know what browser you use?

    I suggest to uninstall third-party toolbars installed on your computer and check if it solves the problem. Once you get rid of the problem, you can install a new toolbar.

    Uninstall the toolbar program tools and features. See the link below for assistance:

    1. Right-click on your desktop, choose Customize.
    2. At the bottom, click background.
    3. Finally, click on the Position of the image and choose Stretch or complete, what you prefer.
    4. Click on save changes.
    If this isn't the cause, you could also do that you use the full resolution of your monitor.

    This looks like a probable hardware problem.   Check your RAM and temperatures although it may turn out to be the video hardware itself.

    If anyone has this problem here is the solution I came up with that:

    CSS (can be online or connected to the style sheet)

    . Video-wrapper {}

    position: relative;

    padding-bottom: 54.1%;

    padding-top: 2.2%;

    height: 0;

    }

    . Video-wrapper iframe {}

    position: absolute;

    top: 0;

    left: 0;

    Width: 100%;

    height: 100%;

    }

    HTML

  • Black bar on the right upper window controls

    Since I "refreshed" Firefox 36, a small black bar appeared in the far right corner of the Firefox screen that exactly
    covers the Minimize/resize/exit buttons. Although the controls work properly when I click in the box to left/center/right of the black bar, why is the bar, in that exact spot, in the first place? And how do I get rid of him?

    I'm not a computer technician. I don't know what is safe mode or what's an extension. I'm just a simple user. I'll try to reload Firefox and if I don't get a version without these problems that I can't cope with I will begin using another browser.

  • How to go around the top and bottom black bars?

    Hey, I've been doing video games youtube for about 2 years now and recently noticed something.

    How I used to get rid of the black bars using all my settings and then using the "Stretch to fill" function to the exporter, I quickly found that it sacrifices quality I would like to make the edges soft and causing a look less in my game videos. I would like to know a fix as soon as possible so that I can continue to make the content of the strong research!

    Parameters:

    Settings.PNG

    The original video was recorded with an aspect ratio of 16:9, but is still the quality of the 1080 p 60 (HD 60 fps). I would really like a specific fix for this soon and maybe some tips for rendering in the PPCC region.

    Thank you!

    ~ Alex

    The other option would be to just scale manually first.  Looks like it would be on a 3-5% of premium.  You lose a little bit on the left and right edges, but it shouldn't cause much loss of quality at all.

  • VMWare Fusion 4.1 full screen - black Bars?

    Hi all

    I get black bars at the top and bottom of my VM sessions when I try to use the full screen with my VM.  I don't know how to solve the problem I tried all the obvious things (last VMWare Fusion and VMWare Tools in the guest OS).

    I had trouble with VMWare Fusion version 4.1.0 (529802) and full screen with a machine virtual Windows 7 x 64.  I upgraded to 4.1 and Mac OS X Lion at the same time.  When I upgraded, I have also improved the VMWare tools in the guest OS (see screenshots).  I noticed that I CAN manually change the resolution in Windows, and expand the Windows form to fill out the black bars, but as soon as I exit full screen and go back in the black bars of back... it is like VMWare is not said that the guest OS resolution appropriate to set go full screen!

    Does anyone know how to fix this?  It is incredibly annoying.

    Hi Cyberfunk,

    Sorry it took me a while to catch up with this thread... for some reason, my forum email notifications have stop working.

    Your file preferences Fusion user, in "~/Library/Preferences/VMware Fusion/preferences", seems to contain the following:

    pref.autoFitFullScreen = fitHostToGuest

    With your VM off the power (not sure if the suspension will be enough) and with closed merge, remove the line above, then launch the merger, turn on your virtual machine and then see if your comments in full view full screen.

    See you soon,.

  • Former 'black bar' trouble with a new twist

    I'm having the 'black bar' common question again, but with bound first files, files not encoded. There is no black bars showing on the front, but there are in yet. Is there a way to fix this without exporting each file in another program before you build in yet? I really want to have to go through and harvest all the files, export, then put it in again, especially since the black bars do not appear anywhere else, but it. Also, to my knowledge, still don't have a feature of the culture. Help!

    Behind the transcoding settings window, you can see that an asset is selected? You can select more than one asset and apply a setting of transcoding to multiple assets at once.

    In the transcoding settings window, you do not enter automatic (as I had in the screenshop I had), you choose the custom preset, you named (as, for example, the Custom Stan... at the top of my list here).

    You can join the "Edit quality Presets" without going into a framework particularly transcode assets. But you must go in the setting of transcoding to apply a preset, custom or otherwise, to an asset.

    Edit: looks like a little different as this screenshot in CS4.

  • Black bar in 32-bit comps!

    Hello

    Most of my work that I do as 8-bit comps in Ae. However, I recently wanted to play with a few overbrights in Trapcode 3D Stroke, which can only be realized in a composition of 32-bit.

    Whenever I look at the comp, rub it through it seems OK, but as soon as I play it as a preview of RAM, a black bar appears at the top of page 3 of the screen (and no, there is no mask or solid covering this area). I thought I'd update my nVidia drivers (I have a Quadro FX 4800 card), but alas, to no avail.

    32-bit-error.png

    It also works his way through the versions made outside.

    The problem persists (or perhaps worse) whenever I pass the computer to 16-bit color space:

    32-bit-error-2.png

    Now half top of the screen is repeated and divided into a cycle that repeats.

    Only when I switch the computer to 8 bits, the problem is resolved.

    In this model, I used a JPEG sequence (8 bit files). But the problem seems to exist in any new comp or a project on 16 or 32-bit.

    I have a professional job quad-core 64 - bit windows 7 with 18 GB of RAM.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your reply Mylenium, much appreciated.

    After consulting with my hardware vendor, they suggested that I should update my driver for my Matrox CompressHD that uses a graphics driver unified (or sth). I thought that this card is only useful to speed up H.264 encoding, but apparently she also has effects on your preview and renders (even if you choose to not use it on the rendering).

    After a reboot it solved the problem - the artifacts have disappeared as if by magic. Seems that keep all your drivers updated can be a good thing after all...
