BlackBerry 10 storage is stored applications?

A BB10 device, matching a card SD installed inside as you did the SD card the default storage device, then when you download applications through BB World, where these applications stored? If you were to remove the SD card, these applications would be inaccessible?

Application data are stored in the phone itself and not on the SD card. You could never store and access the apps on an SD card on a BlackBerry phone. There was a time you could check the apps on the SD card to free up memory in the phone, but these applications were not available in an operational state.

If you are lucky enough, @sdgardne will stop and post a reply to this; He got a great explanation where in a phone, the various functions to draw their memory.

I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones there is no option on my Blackberry mass storage / USB to aid to export photos to computer.

    I'm trying to transfer photos from my Blackberry. I don't have a data plan or a micro sd card, so the usb mass storage option is (I think) the only way for me to get my pictures on my computer and my phone.

    I plug the usb cord into my computer and the phone, but my computer does not recognize the phone as a storage device, so when I click on "removable disk (E)" in my computer, I am asked to insert a disk in the drive.

    I read that, so that it works, I need to turn on my Blackberry mass storage. I go to options and storage device; However, there is no option "Mass Storage" even that are listed. Only two options with checkboxes are 'Enable Compression' and 'Media Card Support.'

    Is the storage option of mass elsewhere on the Blackberry Curve? I tried to restart my phone, computer, using different usb ports, and using usb different cords nothing helps. How can I get my pictures on my phone?

    Hello

    You can still use BlackBerry Desktop Software for it!

    If your media or Images are stored on the memory of our device then first install BlackBerry desktop Software here BlackBerry desktop software after installation connect your device using the USB cable and run the Desktop software.

    Select images from software then you can import the Images on your PC.

    Good luck.

    Finally, the BB 10 can fully synchronize with Google and Hotmail? I have a Google and Hotmail account. I want to synchronize fully two accounts with Z30. I really want to buy a Z30, but this will depend on the answers to these questions. Thanks for your help. GOD bless you all.

    Are there

    Chrome did not
    Firefox won't work.
    Google Maps doesn't but BBMaps does the same thing and works more pleasant on the BlackBerry.
    Bible app has not tried
    PDF support is built into the Z30.
    Office Documents app is incorporated with Documents to Go
    Yes, Pandora
    LinkedIn has built in app
    YouTube integrates an app
    OneDrive is a dedicated application of BB
    Dropbox is a dedicated application of BB
    mSecure (Yes, but I think that you must have already purchased on an Android device to download.) BB comes with password Keeper built in. With OS 10.3 this fall, that I am sure that you will be able to buy it directly on the BlackBerry
    WorldMate is called BlackBerry Travel on BB devices.

    Google and Hotmail full syncs. Google dropped Exchange Active Sync for BB users, so you're left with IMAP, Mac OS x Server and Caldav sync that works, but not as beautiful as Exchange Active Sync. Hotmail works very well.

  • BlackBerry in storage blackberry z10 Z10 problems

    Hi all! After os updated 10.3.2.2836. In my opinion, this device for the largest system operating system itself. 16 GB for the system device already, if it cannot be reduced to a minimum for data storage

    Before this latest OS update storage, storage is never complete. I had to remove all the application but the rest of his stay of 1 GB. It is equivalent to devices from other brands

    helps to refine the system so that any storage space for the operating system itself. or there are other ways to this problem other than total elimination? THX

    I can't understand your message, but it may not be important. Read more and see what you think...

    The Z10 has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage memory. The operating system and applications are in RAM. Embedded flash memory is for the media, and some data of the app are stored here as well. As a general rule, you need to store your photos, video, audio, all you can on a card microSD; but there are cases that you have no control and in these cases, the data will be stored on the camera flash memory.

    I don't know why the camera flash memory seems to be filled when all indications are that she shouldn't be. I have a theory, but no need to enter. You prefer better is most likely do a security wipe. I do not know a better solution (but I am willing to learn, if someone a pole).

    Then... Perform a full backup. If you use a memory card and it is encrypted, you will need to disable the media card encryption and let the removal of full encryption. As an additional security measure, I copy all the files from the card to a computer using the link, before disable you encryption. Then do a security wipe. Then, restore the backup and install all your applications. If you use the encryption of multimedia card, you can turn it back on it.

  • PlayBook - local storage on the application upgrade

    Hey guys,.

    I was wondering what is happening in the local storage (SQLite or key / value) when the application is upgraded via the BlackBerry store. Should keep his content or wipe?

    Is there any ETA on API to access the shared storage devices?

    Thank you

    -Ryan

    I have not seen something official, but I have investigated this area extensively and have every reason to think that the local storage will be preserved as the app is not actually uninstalled.  An upgrade should preserve all that content.  I would consider another thing to be a serious bug and really I'm sure that they choose to do it this way.  For all that is worth...

  • Error in persistent storage when the application update that happened.

    I've been struggling with the problem for a long time.

    MY application uses a persistent storage to store parameter information.

    But when I update my application from version 1 to version 2, number of items in my configuration page has been changed, which means the new version of the page layout will load and save some new stuff in a persistent storage that did not exist in the old persistent storage.

    Problem occurs when custorms update their request. How can we drag all the old stored information when users start to use the updated application?

    I see these three options:

    (a) the best thing to do is to delete the old application, which will get rid of the old persistent data.

    (b) create a 'version2' of you persisted object with a different name.  In your treatment of startup, you see if there is a version 1 object, and if so, migrate the setting of the object Version in 1 to your new object.

    (c) try to your compatible changes.  There are different ways to do this.  A way that is easy to understand is to persist a string, which is your options encode in XML format.  If you use an XML string, then you can add a new attribute to your new options - but the persistent object remains the same.

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not download applications

    Hello, I recently brought the new 9320. I have the card memory base San Disk that come with the Blackberry. Also, as soon as I put the phone I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Support software. The desktop software and storage on the phone at the same time options I have a 14.4 MB remaining on the phone storage and 1.4 GB left on my memory card. When I try to download apps on the phone via my WiFi it is said that there is not enough remaining space. I guess that the phone will only attempt to download the application in the device memory. Is it possible that I can get the phone to automatically download the application directly on my memory card? Or is there another problem that prevents me download apps?

    Thank you.

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

    Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (the BONE itself more certain applications storage, overhead and such). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

    The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

    Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

    On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

    Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

    In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Thus, issues of the app, it is a question of AppMemory... Please see the information above in order to maximize the amount of free AppMemory on your BB. If your particular model of BB has a limited amount of total AppMemory, then you must understand the mixture of 'must have' for you and then give priority to your "optional elements" in order to charge as much as you can, sacrifice these things of lower priority.

    Good luck!

  • WARNING blackBerry Smartphones: 3 rd Party Applications and new software update

    Warning about the 3rd party applications: I recently downloaded 5-10 3 rd party applications on my Blackberry Curve 8310.  All seemed well for the first day or two, but then after that my phone started himself reboot over and over again. The only thing I could do and that he would keep on had to continuously press the back (arrow).  It was extremely difficult to erase the applications on the phone while having this button is used to keep on. Finally, I kept it long enough to completely wipe the phone and reload the OS software and do a restore on all content.  It was the only thing that helped.

    After I got my phone working again, I noticed that some of the service books were somehow deleted during this process. I had to go on my site of BIS of service providers (google to find the website of your provider BIS) and I had to return the service directories to my phone. After that, I noticed that my APN, username and password have been deleted... For google, I got that as well to find the right APN address to type to get my internet and other functions running.  Now, I noticed that my notebook, brickbreaker and tasks are missing from my list of icons and the list of the Applications on my phone. URGH! Now I had to re-download the new software and while recharging it I had to make sure I clicked on advanced and made sure that these elements have been verified to download as well.

    ... NOW, my phone is restarting again.

    DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE! IT OF ME GIVIN SUCH A MASSIVE HEADACHE! I AM READY TO THROW MY PHONE OUT THE FREAKING WINDOW. SERIOUSLY... WHAT GIVES?

    UPDATE:

    Well, I figured out how to get my Notepad, password keeper, and the brick breaker back... and since I have redownloaded the software and restarted my phone, everything seems to work very well.  If you just installed the new software and you miss now your Notepad, password keeper and brickbreaker icons, here's what you do:

    1. open your BB Desktop software and connect your phone.

    2. click on Application Loader

    3. click on start under Update Applications

    4. click on Check For Updates in the lower right corner of the screen. This will redirect you to the page of the BB software.

    5. from this page, you want to click on Blackberry Device Software in the left column.

    6. click on the button update now.

    7. click on the update button. This will pull up the BB Desktop.

    8. from this screen, click Options. The device Application selection page should open.

    9. here you want to scroll down and tick all that you are missing as: Notepad, password keeper, etc.

    10. click Next.

    11. click on finish

    You are only halfway done... Now you must do the following to get your old memos and passwords that have been stored in these dos applications.  I hope that you have a backup that you saved before installing the new software.  Otherwise you are about to lock but if you have it, it's what you do:

    1. in the main menu of the BB Desktop click on the backup and restore

    2. click on advanced, on the right.

    3. in the upper left corner of the screen click on file, then open.

    4. search your saved backup file, and click on the one you want.

    5. now, in the left column, you will see roughly the same thing that is in the right column. You can click on those that you are missing, one by one and add to your phone by clicking on the ">" arrows.  Specifically, you will want to click on: Blackberry Messenger, Memo Pad Options, memos, guard password, password Keeper Options, tasks, tasks Options.

    Hope this helps anyone who was having the same problem as me!

  • Don't turn off the misdeeds of the option of backup (storage iCloud) the application or at the end upward in a data loss?

    I'm having a total allocated 5Gig my storage space, in my iPhone5s (16 GB, last update 9.3.2). I have backups for like almost most of my applications. So I tried entering space by turning off backups, for some of the apps. Now who will be harmful?

    In other words, for example say I have backup for WhatsApp and then turning off, I'm freeing storage space. So once I have turn off backup, what actually happens? It does not store messages or conversations in the cloud?

    Adding to the question above, what is the difference of the backup power off and removing documents and data out of the app?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    To your first question: no backups in iCloud means that if you don't back up your device with iTunes on your laptop, an accident or problems, you will not be able to recover your data and your data will be lost. But turn it off doesn't cause any loss of data, that you are prompted if you want to keep what you have in your device or not (always answer ' keep on my iPhone ")

    Secondly, the removal of the information from the application deletes your progression of game, or Safari bookmarks, or attached or any other app login information. It deletes the data on your device.

  • Copy numbers classic blackBerry in the phone - how application?

    Hello

    It alredy happened to me several times, but after again experiencing it today, I would ask the forum because I can't believe that it is not possible:

    I would copy a phone number of a site, an email or a text message or some source in the application text phone for composition, but I can't find a way to 'paste' a number in there. I found myself every time with the number of writing down or he telephone numbering in another...

    Y at - it any opportunity to do so, if possible, without creating a contact entry?

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Best regards

    Hans-Jürgen

    You should be able to without any problems.

    If you visit a Web site via the Blackberry browser - just click on the number that appears a notification, if you want to call.

    Or if you prefer to copy - you can hold on the number to activate the copy/selection option. Just copy the number or choose from a few other options.

    Once you copy - go to the phone app then just press on the field where you enter the number of the paste option.

    Impossible to install any browser in my z10. It shows the application already installed if the app is not installed.

    I'm not sure. But try this...

    Open BlackBerry world. Glisser slide down from the top, and then select settings. Select general. Select Update BlackBerry World. Restart the device.

    ... then test.

    To create an ABC App that performs the following operations - are the points below as possible for the Blackberry OS 6 and 7?  Yes/No :-) - and whether links to the code samples.

    (0) is still active (though in the background, possible?), while in the background, it will be as described in (2), (3), (4) and (5) below.

    (1) see the other apps on the phone (what kind of applications are possible?)?   The following points (2) and (3) are mainly possible if (1) is possible.

    (2) can activate the apps and activities seen in (1)? (depending on the configuration of the user in ABC app)

    The applications can be started with the entry of parameter?

    (3) sends messages for background apps on the phone (from ABC app, depending on the configuration of the user in ABC app), who are running in the background.  (3A) is the model of Blackberry Sandbox allow applications to share data (files)?

    (4) you can make (2) and (3) above according to tell of a weather event

    (5) following the location of users (if the user allows) and designated operational entities (2) and (3) if the user reaches or crosses a specific location.

    Thank you

    Paul

    You can run (yet) background apps, although there was much demand for such a feature and most valid use cases provided. I can't imagine that this is not in the pipeline.

    You can not (yet) start other applications or communicate with them, but who was announced for BB10 and is called "invocation framework". At best, the details are still sketchy.

  • Too many guests while launching a browser in a j2me on Blackberry 4.2.2 handset application

    Hi all

    I'm working on an application J2ME which starts a default browser and opens a Web page on the Blackberry handset.

    My Tools includes jde4.3 BB + Eclipse Europa + BB4.2.2 combined - 8820, 8310 (for the execution of the application).

    I use the following code and in the face of a problem during the race piece crushed this combined 4.2.2 BB app, say BB 8310 Curve:

    public void startApp() {}

    Boolean b;
    try {}
    b = platformRequest ("http://www.yahoo.com/");
    destroyApp (true);
    notifyDestroyed();
    }
    catch (ConnectionNotFoundException ex)
    {
    ex.printStackTrace ();
    }

    destroyApp (true);
    notifyDestroyed();
    }

    public void pauseApp() {}
    }

    {} public void destroyApp (boolean unconditional)
    }

    Why does always she asks too many questions/confirmations and launching too many pop ups before launching the browser.

    It asks questions like:

    (1.) you want to grant the status of trusted abc_app Application?

    (2.) the abc_app of the application tries to invoke the browser to display www.yahoo.com. You want to allow this?

    and so on...

    before you open the desired Web page.

    I want to be able to reach the webpage directly avoiding these guests of pop ups not necessary to display on my mobile screen. Help, please.
