  No, because if you bought a new iPhone, then you need a SIM card to activate it before you can use the wifi applications.

  This is a phone after all, you don't need a sim card any to be able to activate it.

  I tried repeatedly to place my classic Blackberry on all parameters that would produce no noise, and yet I did not. Some notifications remained silent, although the phone would always sounds. I tried to do the following:

  I wanted to add that reading is fundamental! The do not disturb is the the way to silence calls. It clearly states the installation and tutorials provided with the phone. I've had this phone for months and somehow, I forgot it and I'm here in the middle of going back over all night reading.

  Its possible you may have a filter defined in address book on your BlackBerry® smartphone.  In the address book, press the menu key and choose filter.  If there is no boxes checked, remove the check mark, and then check the address book again.

  So far, my experience with the Blackberry Storm has wishing me fervently I didn't buy the phone or even looked at it. Why? simple. whenever I'm on a call and and so unhappy as to touch my face out of the phone, TI puuts the pople, I'm on the call to we hold, mutes them cutting me, etc etc etc. Th phone is more this kind of incident to be broken into pieces in a fit of fury rigtheous. Someone must have thought that a screen lock would be an idea of common sense to stop this problem, but I do not see anything telling me how and Blackberry responses! installation was as much a drink of water to chocolate. Someone can please and if there is no existing method to do someone on the EDGE please apply a little common sense and put it in a software update?

• BlackBerry Smartphones: the phone rings not...!

  I put the do not disturb sign for 'NO '.

  The profile is on "Vibrate AND tone"... screen turns and recognizes an incoming call and tells you how many... but not ring or vibrate.

  I have an alarm... it vibrates but no dial tone.

  After hours of reading the manual, experimenting with settings etc, in desparation I simply turned off the unit and removed the battery for a few minutes.   When I put it all back together the unit worked perfectly... go figure! :

  Looks like you were playing in the developer settings... Make sure that you do not set animations less than 0.5, or what is happening. If you turn them off, that's what we will see.
