BlackBerry 8120 smartphones

I can send text, but cannot receive.  I was able to do for two weeks, all of a sudden, I can't receive text.  I've tried everything.

Thnaks for the help

Keep the unit turned on, not connected to anything, turn it over and remove the battery. its very important you don't turn it off before doing this...

Put the battery back in and try to send you a text message.

Otherwise, u sees them coming and they are deleted immediately? Are your errasing of call logs themselves? It would be a problem of not enough memory.

  • Access Wi - Fi blackBerry 8120 Smartphones

If this question has already been beaten to death, I apologize. I just got my Blackberry 8120 new mail. The installer went relatively well; Looks like a nice little phone.

But the main reason I bought it because AT & T has finally offered a phone that would allow me to access my home network wireless, or Wi - Fi hotspots in airports, Hotels, etc. in order to check my e-mail (GMail) or get info from Web sites. I'm not interested in VoIP. But after spending hours on the phone with technical support of AT & T, I finally learned that I have to sign up for a data plan in order to be able to use the built-in features of Wi - Fi to my phone. It is not and the meaning (for me) at all, since I bought the phone, so I wouldn't have to pay for access to the data of AT & T broadband. All I want to do is access Wi - Fi networks, like I do with my laptop!

Anyway, support AT & T told to call Blackberry, and they gave me a number to call. But automated response system asked me to enter my number of contract support tech or something, which I didn't, so I came here instead. My main question: If someone has found a way to access Wi - Fi the phone Blackberry Pearl 8120 without signing for a package data (unnecessary)? I don't like the browser I use, as long as I can access the Web. I would also like to know why AT & T / Blackberry, imposes this requirement on their clients, because I know of no technical reason why broadband is a sine qua non for a Wi - Fi connection. If I can do it on my old laptop, why not on the 8120?

Explanations or suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance for any advice you people can offer this newbie!

I hear you man.  Honestly, I will go ahead and try the phone.  I would have canceled my order, but surprisingly, they he transported within 6 hours.  If I can do anything that solves the problem, I'll keep everyone informed. This forum has provided a glimpse of hope on this matter, but I am always sceptic (http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/print?board.id=cingular&message.id=100376&page=1&format=pag...).  Somehow this program No Data is supposed to help block these features the ban free WiFi. It would be great if AT & T would create a simple program like T-Mobile (B "lackberry feature Enabler") to allow their users to do such things (http://www.blackberryforums.com/wifi-hotzone/99353-8320-without-data-plan-what-you-can-can-t-do.html), but I guess that company b/s and the almightly dollar just annoy really create a product intended to please the customer.

I turn to also write a letter on this subject should also arise. I mean, I'll give them a fair shot and see if it works.  I know that technical support will not be able to help with anything. they have the same answer "c-o-m-p-u-t-e-r-i-z-e-d" and have been poorly trained to really help people.  Mavericks of techno that you and I have a better luck to understand things in the forums at random. Have a good one, Jay

  • Deleting messages from blackBerry 8120 Smartphones

    Hello

I had my 8120 for 9 months and never had a problem with it until now.

For some reason any it deletes all the messages of my text in itself, even when there is not a lot in my entry or exit box...

Also deletion of some history on my Facebook app I have on the phone.

I have a chip memory of 1 GB in it and does not really have much saved on the phone...

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you

First thing? Check the file without Options > status, what is the number to the free file? Now, remove the battery from your device, hold a minute, replace, and restart. What is now the free file?

  • BlackBerry 8120 Smartphone wi - fi problems - have I been a little reckless?

    Evening everyone.

I had a great idea: why not to buy a smartphone wi - fi enabled, so I can stop lugging 3 bits of electronic deception on with me all day. So, after some research, called ebay and before long a BEAUTIFUL O2-locked 8120 pearl arrived. I jumped my PAYG O2 simcard, put music on it and synced my newspaper and everything seemed fine, until I tried to use the Wi - fi:

-Why can I get blackbery sites to load? A Wi - Fi connection is certainly independent of my carrier or BIS/BES? It seems to connect (it says its connected and I get an IP address in the diagnosis) but then why can't any other site (regardless of the status HTTP/TLS/HTTPs)?

I went through a lot of resets and settings but at the moment, I have a very expensive dairy that makes calls, rather something that I can use to surf the web (and thus be productive when it is out of the office). The 02 website recommends a BONE which is a previous version of my current operating system (I've got v4.3.0.94, & the Desktop is the current version) and that seems just wrong. Well I found a version more up-to-date is not 02 (and I worry that this would be trash all this).

I'm not registered to any BIS/BES as I wanted to combine a PDA, MP4 Player and phone, and thought as a Wi - Fi browser would allow me to check my email, etc. when out and about, it was the answer to my questions. I wonder now if I was a little fiery and needs to spend ££ s £ on etc data plans.

Can anyone tell why the connection to the you internet is so difficult? It's just that if I look, my girlfriend will let me...

    Many thanks in advance,

    Paul.

That's all! Thank you very much for this - I now used it in several hot spots, and it's been great.

Much appreciated for you the time and effort - such a simple solution really seems so thanks a lot again.

    P.

  • BlackBerry 8120 smartphones turns off

I hope someone can help me. I confess to being a complete fool when it comes to technology, but I love my BB and have not had any problem since I got it in the month of April, but for the last week, she was driving me around the bend. I get a steady red LED and the phone does not turn, I have to take the battery out to get it working again and now it is turn to the and again I have to remove the battery but I am also having to charge it so he can turn it on even if it has a lot of battery. Sorry for the course so long, but I thought that it would be preferable to have all the information to work with.

    Thanks in advance.
