    Hello

Apparently the Blackberry Protect is not available for the Blackberry Q5 (no idea why not!).  Anyone know how I can protect my Q5 Blackberry in case it gets lost, stolen, or broken?

    Thank you.

BlackBerry Protect is not available as a download for the Q5 because he cooked in full to the BONE. If you drag to the bottom on your home screen and select settings, you should see Protect on the list. You can make backups on BB10 devices as you could with older devices but it still works very well for tracking and locking your phone.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I recover my blackberry protect data backup on a Mac?

My blackberry 9360 a curve was stolen a few days ago, I never it synced with my computer but I still saved on blackberry protect and I can access my data if I go to protect.blackberry.com and login with my blackberry ID. I see that my backup files exist but I can't download them and I can't get a new blackberry at the moment but I really need all my contacts and phone numbers, is anyway that I could retrieve this information on my macbook?

    Hello

BB Protect backup files are only single use... to restore to a BB device. It has no other use of them. Where the reason for which this BB Protect is a component very well to a good backup, but in no case should be considered to be the only component.

If you can access another BB, even for a short period, you can restore it and then save it on your computer, from which you can get 3rd party applications to extract the local backup data in human readable format. However, I've never heard of these tools for MAC... but also, I don't look for MAC stuff.

If you don't try this (restoration of BB Protect for an another BB), you must be very careful... to refer:

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Q10 ID deleted with Blackberry Protect to the

    Hello

I do not own the Blackberry device, but my father and I think he did something wrong. He asked me to write to you to help you, because he can't use his device because it deleted the Blackberry account. On October 23, he bought Blackberry Q10 and on 26 October, he deleted an account (he had some problems with the reception of e-mails and he thought that it might help). He also said that the problem might be related with Blackberry Protect. What can I do to make him his device working properly?

Greetings from Poland and thanks for any help.

    MREX.

You can try. I don't think he'll do good. Why BlackBerry would be to blame when they provide a big warning that says do not remove the BBID if it is connected to a device?

  • BlackBerry phone loan of Q10 of wireless provider - unable to connect with ID

    Hello!

I had a problem that requires my Q10 to send in for repair and the loaner phone, I received would not connect to my Blackberry ID.

The message I get is 'Blackberry Protect anti-theft is activated. Please sign in with the ID of Blackberry which served to set up this device".

I guess that means that a registered person the phone with Blackberry Protect loan and this is the ID that is required to connect. However, this makes me little use.

Is there a solution? My supplier tells me there is nothing they can do as a matter of Blackberry. They suggest to take the phone home and make security wipe again, but I have a feeling it won't.

Hello and welcome to the community!

    Reference:

Your suspicions are correct. This device must be:

    1. Connected to the BBID which was used last
    2. Defeat/stopcock Protect, requiring again enter these credentials BBID
    3. WIPE
    4. Associated with a different BBID as part of the initial configuration screen

Lack of this EXACT sequence, the device will not be usable by anyone. I suggest that go back you to Telus and insist that they give you a device of loan that you can actually use. No one may use the machine without these prerequisites BBID powers... simple as that.

Whoever you talked to is not well formed, I fear... is not "a question of Blackberry. On the contrary, it is the result of the compulsory anti-theft features and their failure to follow the appropriate procedures. When they recovered the aircraft that put her, they should have made sure that the user has performed the previous steps (1-3) for tell - associate their BBID apparatus.

    Good luck!

That's exactly right. I had deleted one of the pre-installed applications. I moved the app restored in a unused applications folder as you suggested. Disconnection and reconnection to BB-Link, is more which indicates that an updated version is underway. Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Protect does not allow for encryption?

I did a search and could not find any previous article, so I'm...

I recently installed BlackBerry Protect on my phone. I think it's a great application, with tons of potential to be useful. The only thing I'm a little unsure that is in order to make it work properly on my Bold 9900, I had to disable the encryption. The question I have, I hope someone out there can answer: is it a big deal / it's a smart trade-off? I don't know that much about encryption, but it sounds like something I'd like to have (can you never have a lot of security in a handheld computer?)

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give!

I think it's a smart compromise. Protect backup is secured with encryption itself.

And if you have a password for the device on the device, the data itself are impenetrable anyway.

  • BlackBerry OS 10.3 Q10

    SOS

I need help NOW! I tried to download the latest (10.3.1) OS for my Q10. My supplier tells me that it is not their business! Meanwhile, I tried all resources to try to download the update directly (have never received a notice that is available), and nothing works.

Please, please, help me! I would like to first of all using mixture, but it does not work with my current operating system (10.2.1.3062) and whenever I have "check for updates" it tells me I have the latest version of the software...

    Fed up, royally!

    Thank you

Sorry, I don't see an emergency SOS here.

To be honest, I'd wait. There are a lot of problems now and actually pulled some carrier updates.

I would recommend beta/flowing from CrackBerry.com. OS forum if you want to update your device unofficially.

    Hello

my phone (Blackberry Q10) was stolen yesterday.

That's why I wanted to check Blackberry Protect, but it's only showing me this:

It seems that the device is not connected to the network. It is turned off, data services is disabled or it is wiped and used under another BBID.

My data was backed up on a daily basis by Blackberry Protect and nowhere else.

New phones Blackberry will be able to access and restore my Blackberry Protect data, or I need to get a refurbished phone from BB OS 6 or?

If your phone is under OS 7 or an earlier version, you will be able to access this data backup; BB10 phones cannot restore BlackBerry Protect data.

    BB10 phones are the Z10, the Z30, Q10 and the Q5.

Unable to connect to the classic BlackBerry Protect on BlackBerry service after the upgrade of the OS for OS 10.3.1.2072 10.3.1.1154 flows. The problem is not resolved even after upgrade to the latest official OS version 10.3.1.1581. Someone at - it experiienced this problem and is there a solution?

Thanks for your reply and information about BBOS and BB10 users affected by the issue of BlackBerry Protect service. However, I have since effectively solve the problem with an intuitive understanding and a little help from Crackberry.com. Before checking your answer, I saw a comment written by Blaize the Crackberry.com about users who purchased devices BB ShopBlackBerry or Amazon, but have not yet received the recent BlackBerry 10.3.1 update. Referring to a display on Twitter by Michael Clewley @MichaelClewley the following procedure has been proposed "Power off, remove the sim card, restart WiFi only. Look for the updates. Power off, re - insert sim, continue. "On a haunch, I decided to use a procedure similar"turning the unit off, remove sim, restart with WiFi on and then turn it on BlackBerry Protect. To my astonishment, BlackBerry Protect service was restored. Finally, put off, re - insert sim, check the BlackBerry Protect service to check the condition of the remains on. Success!
