BlackBerry Button - help

HY everybody, I am a beginner in the development of Blackberry, and I am trying to create a button that when pressed, she goes to another screen. I have no idea how to proceed, could someone help me with an example or something I can use as a starting point?

Hello

Try this:

ButtonField btn = new ButtonField ("press me", ButtonField.CONSUME_CLICK);
btn.setChangeListener (new FieldChangeListener() {}

' Public Sub fieldChanged (field field, int context) {}
UiApplication.getUiApplication () .pushScreen (new nextScreen());
}
});
This.Add (BTN);

Thank you

    I would like to be able to trap the action of the user click on the BlackBerry button to display my own menu then that in my application.  Can someone tell me how can I do this?

    I create my menu using the code below:

    Menu = New Menu();
    menu. Add (patientSearchItem);
    menu. Add (testPersistItem);
    menu. Add (testPersistVectorItem);
    menu. Add (appointmentInfoItem);

    menu. Add (closeItem);
    menu. Show();

    Thanks for any help you can give.

    What class screen do you use for this?

    If you are subclassing screen, then simply substitute:

    protected void makeMenu(Menu menu,
                            int instance)

    If you are subclassing of another class of the screen, then you will also need to intercept the key Characters.CONTROL_MENU by substituting keyControl:

      // override of onMenu()    protected void onMenu()    {        Menu menu = new Menu();        makeMenu( menu, 0 );        menu.show();    }

      protected boolean keyControl(char character, int status, int time)    {

            switch (character){

                // menu key pressed            case Characters.CONTROL_MENU:                onMenu();                break;

                default:                return false;        }        return true;    }

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! I lost all my application icons and the menu button does not work!

    I don't know what I did.  All the application icons are moved from the home page.   The menu button does nothing. The trackball does not have anthing. The only thing on the screen is the time, date, battery, new mail envelope, signal and volume. I pulled the battery and it has no effect. I don't know what to do. Help!

    Hey, JSammy.  I had mine works again with the help of someone from another site.  Here's what you need to do: press the green call button, then the menu button.  Select options, then on options General, highlight "dial from homescreen" and the value. Save and exit. Now on your home screen, press "O".  After that, the General menu options will come.  Choose the option 'theme' and choose a different theme or return to the default value.  This should be all your application icons to reappear.  After doing all this make sure you go back to reset the "dial" since the homescreen on 'yes '.  I hope it works for you.

  • Volume Z10 blackBerry buttons are not tactile feedback

    Hello

    I finally bought a z10 in a store in India, today. I was very happy with my purchase. But a few minutes, in the purchase, I was rather unsatisfied and disappointed. The reason: the volume buttons Up and Down was missing any tactile feedback and were uneven. The phone was made in may 2014 and was conducted at the Mexico. I checked a piece of screen and button feedback has been excellent.

    Have an any BB users faced you these issues. If Yes, have you guys tried to address these issues with the help of BB? have you guys managed to replace your phones?

    Help, please!

    Very much appreciated. Ta

    So, I don't see how it's lack of BlackBerry. Yes, the unit may be damaged. It gets to a certain percentage of any unit of mass production, be it a cell phone or a car. This is why there is a guarantee. BlackBerry is committed to stand behind it. However, everything goes through the dealer... IF this dealer is an "authorized" dealer If they are not an authorized dealer that BB will not guarantee the device so that the unauthorized dealer and buyer (i.e. you) gets ripped off because of poor quality of dealer unathorized commercial practices sell devices that are not supposed to.

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP - CONTACT EXPORT REQUIRED... DEVICE LOST / STOLEN

    I've been a happy customer with an old BLACKBERRY PEARL FLIP # 8220 which was purchased new by my best friend in 2009 or 2010 and given to me by him, in 2012 - 18 months. He was beginning to have some edge left and right keys work less ideally, but it was always my very basic needs: I have an old boy who lives in 6 blocks from work and walk 10 minutes between places... and I use the internet very weakly at work and barely at all, at home, and I really don't need it between these places , so I only have a cheap incredibly good CHAT / SMS plan - without data plan (@<$32 th,="" total="" -="" incl="" tx="" and="" fees!).="" i="" send="" about="" 2-3="" txt-msgs="" (sms="" only)="" per="" day;="" and="" i="" get="" even="" fewer!="" i="" use="" the="" talk="" feature="" maybe="" 1-2="" times="" in="" 2-3="" days.="" i'm="" a="" virtual="" non-user,="" i="" admit.=""  people="" laughed="" at="" why="" i'd="" even="" have="" a="" smart="" phone="" that="" literally="" wasn't="" at="" all="" smart...="" but="" it="" was="" because="" i'd="" admired="" my="" friend's="" phone's="" appearance="" and="" functionality,="" and="" because="" it="" was="" free="" to="" get="" from="" him,="" and="" because="" he="" helped="" me="" switch="" companies="" to="" a="" lower-cost="" plan="" running="" on="" gsm="" (rogers)="" not="" cdma="" (telus).="" i="" didn't="" even="" use="" bbm,="" let="" alone="" any="" e-mail="" or="" other="" internet="" functions,="" games,="" apps,="" even="" gps.="">However, despite these rare and apparently "Mute" use, I got very valuable contacts in the phone that other people envy...) I NEED those.

    The DESKTOP MANAGER version that I got from my best friend when he gave me his old phone is 4.6 v - and he said that it had been updated when he gave it to me. I realize that v6 is now standard (or even more?) and support for older versions disappeared. I also see that this v6 has characteristics which 4.6 do not...

    I backed up before I went to Toronto September 13. I doubt that there is more than 1-2 new contacts, if even that many, who have not been saved. It's as up-to-date as I could understand...

    I'm on ROGERS wireless in the Canada.

    So: I happened to me just to pinpoint a phone no - BB that I like and I bought it with the intention of change when I got some time. I'm moving out of country in one year and I'm slowly getting things in place for this and I was intending to spend a recent phone and thenunlock the BB to have in reserve, but I accidentally lost my Blackberry mid-weeklast week when I went out a taxi... and it may be gone forever now. 3 days only after obtaining the next phone that I had planned to use it, I lost that before I could even spend!  I know that ROGERS has a PHONE FINDER function, but let's just say that wasn't functional in my case... we'll leave it at that.

    So, phone / device gone!

    I hope that someone can guide me to export these contacts that are somewhere, somehow existing / resident in DESKTOP MANAGER v4.6 - in a format that I can then use to not having all the lost forever, and then I can re - load - manually, if need be - on my new phone. I realize that they exist, but not in any format I can see / use, at the present time.

    Can someone help me?  I see forums / discussions and messages that show how to synchronize the device to record for export, synchronize and create a CSV, or save to export to EXCEL, but they that seem to all be configured the DESKTOP MANAGER and THEN sync with the device... I don't have the camera longer... it's gone. I've never done this before because I didn't plan the need... stupid me, I know!

    I can recover the contacts from my DESKTOP MANAGER v4.6 somehow?

    Help?

    Thank you!

    After reading some info on these forums, the ONLY thing I can even think to do is maybe trying to borrow from someone a is no longer necessary to BB and with it wiped THEIR contacts, synchronize it at my DESKTOP MANAGER and then load my contacts on other than BB... and then re-sync the things that BB with the appropriate buttons checked in the DESKTOP MANAGER?  I don't even know if it works... and I don't seem to have access to spare / balls unused of the people... no one I know has one, and still less a 'extra! '

    Thank you, once again,

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    First, find the file to backup data on your computer. It is normally stored somewhere in the area of my documents, but when you performed the backup, you have full control over the destination folder for the backup data file. Given the version of the desktop software you mention, it probably has an extension of IPD file... the newer versions of Desktop software switched to a BBB file extension, but yours is probably IPD.

    Once you find the file, your next step is your favorite internet search engine... the Desktop software is useless for what you do, because it is exclusively an interface with a BB device... nothing else. Search for your favorite Internet for something like "IPD File Extractor" search engine or something similar. There are several out there.

    Compare search results and make your choice - before ask you, the answer is no... We cannot recommend one over the other. You must choose based on your own personal set of circumstances.

    Then, get the software and use it to extract your data from the IPD file and save it in a "readable" format (for example, .txt, .xls, .csv, etc.).

    Once that is done and your data are in a file format that you can use, then your next step is to find what you need to do to import into your replacement unit. Yet once, before asking, nothing here in this forum dedicated BB available to help you with that. But if this device has an import function, then once you have your data in a usable format, you should be able to handle such that you can format to import your new device.

    Good luck!

    Hi joa2500

    A load of application should fix you up. To do this, you'll need a PC, windows the BlackBerry Desktop Software and software of the device from your carrier (AT & T, Verizon, T-Mobile you can try other Google or ask your operator).

    You follow these steps to perform a load of the application (not to plug the BlackBerry again):

    • Go to control panel, system, hardware, Manager tab of devices
    • Expand USB bus controllers
    • For each hub USB root see you - double click on it, click the power management tab, and clear the check mark in the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
    • Close the Device Manager & Panel
    • Install the BlackBerry Desktop Software
    • Install the software for the device
    • Run the desktop software and plug the BlackBerry
    • Go into the Application Loader
    • Follow the wizard to the end, don't forget to look on the device application selection screen like it is the right time to remove applications that you do not use.
    • When you arrive at the end of the wizard, click Advanced, and make sure that erase all applications is checked (if it is dimmed, it's ok)
    • Choose if you want to backup your device before the application load (sometimes there is no choice here, the data is lost)
    • Click Finish to start the application loader and wait until it finishes.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Help! All sorts of problems with my BlackBerry

    Hello world

    I need help... or a lot of it really!  I got my Sprint 8830 for a year and a half to two years.  Recently I had all sorts of questions.  My call/text journal disappear which I assume is related to memory... but I deleted a lot of things to free up memory on my phone.  I don't get texts also.  People constantly tell me they sent me tons of texts and I never get any of them!  I tried to send one to my phone from another phone and it does not cross the first 4 times, but the only time where he did, my phone is beeping and I went to read the message he just disappeared!  In addition, my phone is not ringing and goes directly into voicemail... only advising me of a new message - not a missed call.  I was in my house when these things happened so I know that this is not a problem of service area.

    I took my phone in Sprint 3 days ago, they said they have installed a bunch of updates, but I still have problems.  Help!  Is it just time for a new phone?

    Thanks for any help you can offer!

    The normal memory minimum limit is 15 MB, you have 6 MB.

    You have a lot of third-party applications on your time BB, icall, bbalerts etc?

    I don't know your level of experience, so if you know I'm sorry but if please read and let me

    not know if this is the case.

    Most people close the applications by pressing escape or the red button. This does not close the applications.

    Each application has an option CLOSE. For example, if you are in the calendar, press the menu key (spotted) and scroll down to the bottom CLOSE is listed. Go through each application and then press close. Go to the menu press browser and options select cache operations clear all categories and reached escape it will say cleaning memory. If your device has:

    Go to options - security - garbage collection - enable. The BB will now clean up the memory when idle for 5 minutes.

    you will have an icon on the screen to clean the memory of you make sure you press it. Make sure that you use the button CLOSE whenever you're done with an application.

    To meet immediate needs, read and follow the steps described in the ARTICLE of JSANDERS:

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-BlackBerry-discussion/116396-managing-your-BB-memory-lost-CA...

    Once you have stabilized your phone, use the guide memory JOHN CLARKS optimizer:

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-BlackBerry-discussion/112029-losing-call-logs-SMS-emails-opt...

    If you apply these two guides and follow the steps, your Blackberry will run a lot more flexible and reliable

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! I think that I broke my flashlight

    He would die so I went to charge it and I plugged the charger in the phone I accidentally clicked the camera button. Now, the phone has a white screen, the buttons light up, he's dying and it does not load. Help me please, I only bought recently. On another note, the battery also worked how I would approach that, I find it a bit difficult?

    Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

    Insofar as actually the battery... just type with two fingers, one on each side and come out on top first.

    For a moment, I saw the directory of the Passport drive appear in my repertoire of the pc, I opened and beginning hurry to do what exe to start is supposed to do and it ended in an error notification on the mixture of BB software.  How can I convince my friends that BB is superior to other phones and I can't get the Passport to behave the way I want it.
