Can I replace the HDD on my Satellite W30DT-A-100?

Hi all
Unfortunately, the internal hard drive of my W30DT-A-100 isn t the fastest. Therefore, there is the possibility to replace it with an SSD?
Thanks for your comments :)
HJF

In my opinion, this hardware upgrade is certainly possible, but due to construction and specific design, it must be done by authorized personnel only.
All components are placed under the hood of the LCD screen and remove the cover of the LCD screen is pretty tricky.

In my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can do for you and more importantly that you won't lose valid warranty.

  • Can I replace the graphics card on Satellite Pro A100

    Hi all

Just a quick question about the graphics card in my Satellite pro a100 computer laptop. I heard different stories about this.

The ATI RAdeon Mobility x 1400 card can be replaced on this laptop. If so how easy it is to do and how I could tell which cards would be compatible?

    Thank you

    MAcca.

You cannot remove, replace or update the graphics card.
The graphics chip is attached to the motherboard and it of not possible to remove it.
In addition, the motherboard is compatible only with the current graphics chip.

  • Qosmio X 870 - 13v - can I replace the HDD by SSHD?

    Hello

This week I have to return my Toshiba Qosmio to solve this pb of discharge of electricity I have when I use my icy Blizzard Dock (probably usb3 port pb?).
I already bought a Crucial MX200 1 TB ssd to replace my Sandisk 128 GB and I was wondering if I could also replace my Toshiba HD 1 TB MQO17BD100 by a SSHD.

Technically speaking, is it possible to replace a hard drive by a SSHD?

    If so,.

physically speaking, HD is 10x7x9mm I think that there is no SSHD 1 TB with the same size and that only a 500 GB can be installed?

    Best rgds
    Guillaume.

    -can't edit my post sry-

The model HD MQ01ABD100 and the 10x7x9.5mm of dimensions, I think it's standard. Then, the question 'physically' HD size is irrelevant.

BUT, I called Toshiba support in France, and they said that it is impossible to replace my HD by a SSHD (regardless of brand), because I wouldn't be able to connect it (they said tablecloth pb)...
Guess what, I immediately called Western Digital and asked them if I could use one of their SSHD (double black or blue SSHD 1 TB) in my Qosmio, they said HD connection/plug-in/tablecloth are identical and compatible.

So, what makes SSHD not compatible if the tablecloth/connection HD? I do not understand, WD and SEAGATE are selling portable computer product named SSHD.
This means Qosmio x 870 - 13v is special or what?

  • Can I replace the MK2546GSX HDD with MK2576GSX

    Hello

I have a laptop, Sony Vaio VGN-CR36G/B, which has the MK2546GSX from Toshiba HARD drive and chkdsk reports bad sectors in it. I would replace this hard drive, but I couldn't exactly find the product in the market to buy.

Please can someone help me to find a replacement for Toshiba MK2546GSX?

    My questions are

Can I replace Toshiba MK2546GSX with Toshiba MK2576GSX? Are they the same? Is there a difference in its connections or Sockets?

    or

Can you suggest a replacement for Toshiba MK2546GSX?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

    J

First of all, you can use all the HDD from different manufacturers that are compatible with your laptop.

    The HARD drive TOSHIBA MK2546GSX seems to bear 250GB - 5400U/min and 7-pin S - ATA (SATA 150 MB/s)

This means that your laptop supports the SATA controller and you should be able to also use the other SATA 2.5 SATA drives!

  • Satellite C670d - 11 k - can I replace the CPU?

Can I replace the CPU on my 11K satellite C670D help please

    Hello

The chipset is AMD A50M, so you can ONLY use AMD processors that are supported by the chipset.
But it is still open question whether the BIOS would support the new processor.

Since updates are not official supported by any laptop manufacturer, you will not find this info anywhere...
If these updates are at your own risk, and no one would be able to tell if the laptop would be stable after this upgrade the CPU.

No if you do not replace it you need to get an AMD... the AMDs all have the same type of socket and the Intels are completely different.

  • Can I replace the memory and not lose what is on the old memory for a Mid 2007 Mack computer desktop Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz processor speed, 1 CPU, 4 MB of Cache L1, the 4 GB memory at 800 MHz bus speed.  Only 1 slot can play memory, the other is damaged

Can I replace the memory and not to lose what's on the memory of the former?  I have a Mid 2007, 20 "desktop Mac, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz processor, 1 CPU, 4 MB L2 cache, 4 GB of memory, 800 MHz bus speed.  I have a backup device.  A RAM slot is damaged.

You are confused of RAM and disk space available.

RAM stores information temporarily while the Mac is enabled and the application is reached. RAM replacement has no effect on the long term of your information storage.

The hard drive is where your information is stored in the long term. If you replace your hard drive, you need restore the information from a backup.

FYI, for your iMac, the maximum RAM is only 6 GB.

What is your advice? Can I replace the motherboard? Is it a long way? Or is it better to find another laptop?

According to my notes, 63y1545 is a T510 Board with integrated graphics (Intel). The other 2 boards are W510 boards. They are all the same size and shape, but W510 boards have 4 memory slots and use a different cooling fan. The W510 is a nice machine and worth it if you can get a good price on a Board and fan of fixing. Basic coverage is also different machines 'W', but I don't know if it's important or one you have now.

  • Can I replace the optical drive of the ENVY 15 t-k000 with a hard drive?

    Hello!!

    I just got the HP ENVY 15 t-k000 http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/G0T95AV?HP-ENVY-15t

Can I replace the optical drive with an SSD (for example, Seagate 600 240 G)? Thank you!

I saw there are several videos helping to remove the top cover and replace the optical drive. But it does not expressly say that the optical drive can be replaced by a hard drive.

    Thank you very much!

Yes you can. Here's the part you have to do with. Just remove the optical drive, add a hard disk in one of these adapters and replace it for the optical drive:

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You may also need to swap the façade of the old optical disc to make the installation of good look.

I wouldn't use this for one SSD. An SSD belonged to the main disk space to enjoy the speed. The drive into the optical drive adapter will not be bootable and it will be not given quite as fast as the main hard drive transfer speeds. So if you have a drive in this card, a big (1 TB) and slow (5400 RPM) drive would be preferable. It will be purely for storage and it is still fast enough to see the video of for example but if you are doing video editing I would try not to edit videos from the optical drive Bay. Move them to the fastest reader first.
