BlackBerry Curve 3 G smartphone - how do service blackberry internet?

Hi all

I bought a blackberry on 24-month contract with virgin, but after playing with a little, I realized I can not configure a personal e-mail account or get BBM to work... I think it's because I don't have blackberry internet service. However, when I try to sign up for this he asks my ESN/MEID I do have it (I looked on the box I have IMEI). He then told me to go to the host routing table (where it says * no * entries) and opt for 'register now '. I did but nothing happens and am now a bit stuck as to how I can sign up for the service internet blackberry, or get my email/bbm to work.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi there robl33 and welcome to the forums!

You'll want to start by calling Virgin and get them to register on BIS, which is a special BlackBerry data plan that must be added to your account.  They can you currently have on a non-BlackBerry data plan, which would be the source of the problems you are having.  Once they put in as a customer of BIS, you should be all set.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set up internet and e-mail?

    Hello!

I recently bought a BB 8300 BES (I guess) and West no way to configure it! All I can do is to activate email business (which I did not), and theres no option of browser or via e-mail (I can not add email accounts)! Is it possible to change to BIS? My ISP gave me all the info I have to configure my device, but I can't find where.

Thanks a lot for your help!

If your provider has only a BlackBerry of pay-per-use plan, not a data plan unlimited BlackBerry? When you talked to them how did say you must configure e-mail accounts?

BES or BIS isn't the software, just the 2 types of plans you can choose from. With BIS, you can configure up to 10 personal email accounts, browse the internet and includes the package data unlimited (generally excluding text messaging). With this plan, your Inbox of your e-mail account synchronizes with a BlackBerry. All data must be synchronized via a wired connection with the Desktop Manager software. The price of this plan is usually about $30 (depending on your operator).

BES has all of that with the addition of the messaging capability of installation on the device company. If your employer has a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) all data allows to synchronize the BlackBerry wireless. The price of this plan is usually about $ 45 (depends on your operator).

  • BlackBerry BB Curve 8520 Smartphones - how to delete an email account?

I'm in so much trouble!  I created my account earthlink.net on my phone so I could send a picture to my PC and now I can't get off!  I followed several suggestions on this forum and some of my own and now I can't find any option on my curve to set up an e-mail account.  I deleted my login and password for my e-mail account on my phone; I deleted the CIMIME in the Service log and deleted something called BIS 5 from somewhere.  I always get emails on my phone.

I synchronize my calendar with Outlook and the same e-mail address, so I did not get rid of CICAL in the maintenance book.

Try connecting to your BlackBerry® Internet Service account to http://att.blackberry.com.  If you are unable to do so, can you send me your PIN code via private Message so I can take a look at your account?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Verizon Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) Client - how to create a mail filter

Hello. Thank you in advance for the answer to my question. I am trying to create a mail filter so that the messages do not contact delivered to my BB and instead just go directly to my regular email account. I understand that you can do this function of the BIS, however when I tried to create an account, I received a message that says "Please use your device to access the BIS." I did everything as the message told me, but I don't have the same menu options of my BB that I had to do since internet. The page showed only a list of emails and a choice of 'Edit' and 'delete' for each of them. There was no "Filter" button for me to click. I remember some time ago I could access this page and was able to remove the signing of BB (i.e.. "This message is sent to a BB"), so I know that it was possible to access this page. I don't know why I am not able to access now.

If someone out there has Verizon and knows how to access the BIS, please let me know how. Or if you know how to create an e-mail filtering function, please let me know.

    Thank you

    Fred

    Hello!

To connect to your account BIS from a PC/browser (not the BB browser), go to this address:

Enter your BIS credentials and you will be in your BIS account screen. From there, use this KB to create the filter you want:

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot-~ 5 minutes...
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

There are several methods (which, BTW, no I believe to be useful to your situation):

    • KB14058 How to delete all data and applications in the smartphone BlackBerry using the security option wipe

N ° of BB devices lack a complete email client on them. Instead, they depend on the BIS service to provide messaging functionality. BIS is active when you have also listed Internet/personal email where you currently see only Enterprise. All services of BIS, are sent to the device via data carrier network... contact them are therefore the right approach to discover why their network is no longer to deliver to you the services that you pay for.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how upgrade to OS6

Hello. I just bought a Curve 9300 of Philippines Globe, delivered with their postpaid mobile phone subscription.

The unit has OS 5, and I want to switch to OS 6. I tried to do at home, but I was told that I must be a subscriber of BB.

I went to the Philippines Globe offices for help and they tried to update my phone OS, but with the same result - a message that I must be a subscriber of BB.

What does that mean? How can I improve my OS? Thank you.

You say you have postpaid subscription mobile phone of the Globe.  What you need to access the features of the BlackBerry (and be able to update your phone), is BIS, or BlackBerry Internet Service.  It is also known under the name of a BlackBerry data plan.  I suspect that what you currently have is just the phone and text functions (even if I'm wrong).  Without BIS, you won't do anything with your phone, except for calls and SMS.

While I have you here, I suggest you don't load DO NOT OS 6 for your Curve 9300.  The 9300 has only 256 MB memory embedded and is not well suited to running OS 6.  All phones that come with OS 6 have 512 MB of memory.  Of course, it will work on your phone, but you will meet late and gel.  Look through these forums to see what I'm talking about before deciding to get BIS and update your phone with OS 6.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how I respond to e-mail

If someone sends me an email and I hit the reply button, I'm allowed to type my response, but the only choice I have when I want to send, "Save draft" or DELETE.  When I read the FAQ, it indicated that I must go to the individual name who sent me email, hit dial and then send.   Before resetting and updated my BB software, I could answer without problem.  Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?   Chuck

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS lines for these accounts.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how keep track emails btn Blackberry & Outlook?

    Hello

I am considering buying a Blackberry Curve (Sprint).  My hang up so far is that I want all my emails sent my Outlook on my computer at home.  So far, my solution was to use GoToMyPC so that I can connect to my PC at home from any computer and take care of my emails.  Also, I work mainly at home, so this isn't a huge problem in terms of convenience and efficiency.

Most people tell me that they themselves CC when they send an email of their Blackberry.  It's how they keep track of important emails sent from their Blackberry.  IS THERE ANOTHER WAY?  A MORE RELIABLE WAY?  IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE ALL EMAILS SYNC'D WITH OUTLOOK SYNCING (THEORETICALLY) MY BLACKBERRY WITH MY COMPUTER?  IF NOT, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary

I have 2 two e-mail addresses; is the address of my blackberry, and the other is my Outlook.  For the most part, I give my Outlook address so I could have on my PC at home, and when Isync it is there. Or, in the field if I inadvertently delete a message, I know that it will always be on my PC at home. I think your friend is correct. If she has the Blackberry

Business through its IT Department. to work system. I have the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service).

I hope this helps. It's pretty confusing

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to configure and use e-mail without BES

    Hello

I'm trying to figure How to configure and use e-mail without using a BES.

I checked with the local telephone company. And the number is not ascociated with any service of BES.

The entry of services show no indication in this sense.

In addition, the configuration of SIM card show that everything is disabled. This means that the phone is unlocked. At least that is my understanding.

However, even after a wipe, the BB device does not set up an e-mail account, as described in the manual. He keeps asking for a BES activation first.

    What will do that disappears?

And to allow the configuration of the "spam"?

Just develop the right answer given by JSanders, you can always access your email accounts and social networks (facebook, twitter, google +, etc) on your phone, you will just have no notifications PUSHED to your phone.  You can access the internet on your phone in order to access these accounts, but it should go to them.  With BlackBerry Internet Service activated on your phone account, RIM will push these notifications of new emails, facebook messages, new tweets etc. for your phone.  That's what you'll be missing out on without active BIS.

I wanted to just make sure that there is no likelihood of confusion.
