BlackBerry Passport indicates incorrect media storage card

Dear all,

I got my first Blackberry phone, today and always try to get used to.

I have a problem that I have inserted a 64 GB Sandisk Ultra XC I but Passport 199 MB shows in the details of the media storage. I formatted the card several times, but the situation does not change.

Can someone tell me how I can solve this problem? I tried to SD cards and both are SanDisk 64 GB XC I.

Thank you.

199MB total is in space?

Have you tried to read cards directly with a laptop or desktop and look at the properties of the map. That's what I'd do. And I would launch a repair using the computer and see what you see.

Another question. When you first inserted the card, you should have seen an error message followed by the notification that the pilots were being downloaded. Did you see the error message and notification?

    Yes and the deletion.

Let me add, I would recommend power first, but there is no obligation in this regard.

The SIM card and the media are hot-swappable.

The initial synchronization will use the default SD card.

I realized none of my media sync them where, and it's all the synchronization only to my media card (with the exception of one that was already saved in my device memory).

    Hello!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Z3, I lost all my data on my SD storage card, please help me to retrieve the data.

    Dear Sir.

I lost all my data on my SD storage card, please help me to retrieve the data. I have a Z3, just bought only a week before, I removed the card with the phone off and then give the card again and noticed that I lost all the data. Please help

Try restarting your phone. Sometimes it shows data that brought them "disappeared". To do this, hold down your power button for about 15 seconds, until you see BlackBerry on your screen. Do not release the button until you see that without taking account of any other thing you see before that.

Try this and post back with your results.

  • BlackBerry Passport new blackberry Passport

    Hello

I'm currently living in China and was thinking of buying a new passport for blackberry, but I don't know where they are (locally), if I buy one from canada or the United States will work with sim cards from China or other sim cards from other countries? Or incase it doesn't, how to unlock my phone...

If you buy a model with no brand store BlackBerry or on Amazon, it will not be locked to a carrier. But also make sure that the device will be based on the corporate network. You can compare the information provided by BlackBerry on its site the information provided by your operator. The thread at Crackberry is also useful.

  • Smartphones blackBerry Desktop Manager software/Media does not

    Hello everyone

I noticed that when I install 4.7 Desktop software on my 32 bit Vista computer when it reboot takes forever to load up on the desktop.

I timed it actually from the first second I saw 'loading' or the 'Vista progress bar"to point type me my password til time I first start see things load on my desk

    3 minutes +.

If I go into services.msc and disable the following:

    CyberLink

    Roxio upnp renderer 9
    Roxio 9 upnp Server
    LiveShare p2p Server 9
    roxmediadb9
    Roxio 9 hard driver watcher

And restart the computer, the system takes much less time to load up.

So, if I had to re activate these and try to load the media within the Desktop Software Manager it acutally does not load.

Am I missing something? Is there another service that I need to start?

It works very well after a new installation, but if I disable these features, restart and then re enable it doesn't load at all.

So I'm curious what is the work around? BlackBerry told one install and re install but seriously who takes a long time and is a concern.

Here's another puzzle for you game.

I know that I have photos and videos in my media (8gig) card I can see right now on my cell phone if I wanted to, it's there.

However when I plug in my desktop PC I can not find them

USB automatically a 'portable' under my computer called Blackberry 9530, if I double click on it, it gives me 2 options: Media Card or memory of the device. If I click on Media Card is the only music folder which is ok, but where are the photos?  It is not in any way I can them through the photos using the built in mass media; less I can't find here; That's why I thought I'd use Desktop Manager 4.7 and the media option but because of computer load time slow, I disabled stuff and it does not load on re that allows him.

Theres so my dilemma; all inisghts would be much appreciated; Thank you

    OK cool

    Problem fixed, yay

    When you uncheck these items...

    Roxio upnp renderer 9
    Roxio 9 upnp Server
    LiveShare p2p Server 9
    roxmediadb9
    Roxio 9 hard driver watcher

After activation, make sure that you also "InstallDriver Table Manager (Macrovision Corp)" checked, which will load Roxio

  • iSCSI as shared media storage?

I was wondering if anyone had here a few thoughts about the use of iSCSI as shared media storage.

I would use it via ethernet to my ready nas pro with two Gbit connections is associated with a single IP address.

I know the obvious limitations in bandwidth by ethernet and the risk of data corruption when sharing, but I only use the same media on one PC at a time, so I guess that's not much more of a problem.

Further recommendations on the idea of shared storage would be muc appreciated also.

    Thank you. :)

    Ulf

iSCSI is ideal for this workflow. There are faster options now that are affordable compared to the Gbit and iSCSI units which have expansion slots supporting 10 Gbit Ethernet. Cards Intel 10 Gbps Ethernet are $380 for a single port cards and the Thecus 8 and the 16bay units take over some of the Intel 10 GB cards. NETGEAR has 10 Gbit Ethernet switches for $900. If this isn't an option now then 2port NAS/SAN unit will be fine. Don't expect much more then 75 to 100 Mbps even with load balancing. 10 Gbps also reduce access latency. Gbit will be a delay if try to change directly from shared storage.

Satellite A200-1YW belongs to the series of PSAE3 I think and that's why you can get all the drivers here:

I founded the driver for Vista 32 bit. If you use Windows 7 32 bit, you should try this driver. Normally it should work.
