BlackBerry PlayBook SDK WebWorks: question AJAX Webcast #2

Hello

I try to do a few AjaxCall using the example in the dissemination on the Internet of yesterday by I have some problems. The readystate is stuck at 1. (I have not forgotten to add the domain in the config.xml file)

Someone has successfully completed an ajax call?

readyState = 1 means send() method has not been called.

Looking at your code snippet, I see a typo in - there should be no braces of closure at the end of the name of the method handleResponse.  It is a reference to the function, not a call to it.  Try replacing this line following and try again:

req.onreadystatechange = handleResponse;

  • SmartPhone SDK v/s PlayBook SDK

Is there a difference between the kit of development SmartPhone BlackBerry and BlackBerry PlayBook SDK? A phone application BlackBerry usable on a PlayBook or vice versa?

If not, then is there a way how I can make my application compatible with both?

There is a huge difference between the two software development kits

It is best that consider you two opperating systems. If you want to support both, you can download a .cod both on AppWorld .bar file.

  • PlayBook Simulator included in the SDK WebWorks for Mac does not start

Hi, I downloaded and installed the WebWorks BlackBerry SDK for Tablet OS for Mac from http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/webworks.jsp . I have VMWare Fusion installed 3.1.2. I used the beta3 .iso Installer to create a virtual machine, and it worked very well. Open the bbwp/blackberry-tablet-sdk/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-1.0.1/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator.vmx file load VMWare Fusion and adds a virtual machine named "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator" in my VM library. When I try to 'turned on' virtual machine, nothing happens. The power seems to be on for two seconds and turns off the virtual machine. I can't find all the lines from log in Console.app. the 'Virtual Machine'-> 'Force Start Up' menu is no help either. I download the stand-alone "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator for Mac", that is also marked v1.0.1 but I am not optimistic if it is delivered as a set of folders VMware. Please do not make me run the PlayBook Simulator in a virtual Windows XP machine!

    Hi jaschroe,

Try to manually copy the folder BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator - 1.0.1 to another location on your Mac and then try to open this copy of the VMX file in VMware Fusion. (No need to re - install).

  • Gaps in WebWorks BlackBerry 10 SDK

I found that some parts of the SDK WebwWorks BB10 lack comparing to PlayBook for example.

The biggest problem at the moment for me is the lack of method blackberry.payment. Whithout it I can't monetize my app freemium.

I also need blackberry.media.camera.takePicture, who is also absent.

In blackberry object all alone, I found:

    BlackBerry.app

    BlackBerry.Event

    BlackBerry.notofication

It will change in the future or this features are abandoned SDK WebWorks?

    Thanks for the comments.

Payment is certainly important and focus on right now.  We want to get just before publishing, then your patience is requested.  It will get there in good time.

Note: for functions 'disappeared' BlackBerry object you need to whitelist any API function that your application will use.  For a complete list of BlackBerry WebWorks APIs, see this reference guide (filtered by BB10):

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/APIs/bb10_index.html

As others have said, getUserMedia is now the HTML5 standard that we follow for camera support.  The blackberry.media API exists only because the standard was not defined/supported at that time there.

For a code example showing how to use getUserMedia - see this page:

    Hi all

How to navigate through the file to the blackberry playbook using Tablet blackberry OS for Adobe Air SDK.

And also I want to download this file on the server.

Help me by providing examples of coding.

    Thanks in advance.

    With respect,

Here are some tips to help you get started.  It all depends on the terms that you use for your search.  For the first, I would use "adobe air browse file."  For the second, I start with only a variation as "adobe air download file" and then adjust according to the first results.

  • Recent SDK WebWorks good for old BONES? What versions?

    Hello

I have latest SDK WebWorks 2.3.1.5 and I was wondering which versions of OS .cod file would be actually on. Doesn't not find that documented anywhere

Or is - it mainly depends on what functions the application actually uses?

Is there a list somewhere of what versions of SDK WebWorks are compatible with versions of the OS? Is it still today possible for example to develop a WebWorks app which can be used on devices such as the model of curve 8300 OS 4.5?

https://bdsc.webapps.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/download/previousversions goes back to v2.0 of the SDK, but I have no idea on what is exactly the minimum target version OS of this.

Same thing for the Tablet SDK... Is a .bar file compiled from the sources of html5/css3/js by BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet 2.2.0.5, usable on both 1.0 and 2.0 of the PlayBook BONES / Tablet OS?

The WebWorks SDK for Smartphone supports OS 5.0 and more.

  • Update plugin Eclipse SDK WebWorks to 2.3.1.5

    Hello

I read this (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-and-WebWorks-Development/Eclipse-Plug-in-for-Webworks-SDK...) and I'm well aware that the like Blackberry developers to switch to training for development. However, I work with the Push API (BIS) that is not fully supported on waving, so I need to use a device/Simulator.

I found that using WebWorks (SDK 2.0.0) Packager that comes with the Eclipse Plugin supports all the features I need to use the API to push (I get Java exception errors). Instead, I've been spending like a Flash project and package/signature of the command line with the latest version of the SDK WebWorks (2.3.1.5) - it works very well. My question is: How can I incorporate the new version of the SDK WebWorks in the eclipse plugin? -How can I copy over

    C:\Program search in Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.3.1.5

    TO

    C:\eclipsebb\plugins\net. RIM. Browser.Tools.wcpc_2.0.0.201103231828 - 18

    ?

Did anyone done this before? This would make the application faster and easier to deploy on the simulators of packaging.

You can use Packager integrated ripple, even if you are not stable in Wellington. It will deploy to the Simulator for you and it always supports the latest version of the SDK.

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/documentation/packaging_your_app_in_ripple_1904611_11.html

With respect to the SDk update in the eclipse plugin, I do not know if more copy would work. You can back up the original files and try

  • PlayBook SDK plugin for Eclipse?

    Hi all

RIM have a playbook SDK plugin for Eclipse? Thank you!

Scheduled for a beta in late May and looks amazing with regard to the integration of devices options. Release of gold will be in the fall. Time to brush the cobwebs from my C++ skills.

  • You forgot the PIN the LSB and the word CSK - Blackberry Playbook on Flex dev

    Hello

I use Flash Builder 4.6 to create the Flex app.

I wanted to debug my application on the device. Register and received two files of RIM (COMINCO and RSK) a few weeks ago, but I never wrote the CSJ CSK pin password.

How can I get CFS & CSK back passwords?

    Thank you

Oh, it is a good experience.

If you use Flash Builder 4.6, then once you have the signature keys

you enter the information in the record tools BlackBerry Assistant FB

(This is dependent on the installation of the BlackBerry SDK for AIR first)-

Right click on the project folder > BlackBerry tools > configure test

Devices... This will guide you through the whole process of setting up

your test device and get the cert dev created etc. This is by far

    the process easier.

But if you like pain and suffering, then here are some ideas based on my

    experience:

If you do the command line approach, then there are two options,

one is the symbolic way of debugging, and the other is the signed road app.

Debugging tokens allow to configure the aircraft for the test without having to

sign the application first. You associate the debugging token to your device and

any application that you build can load and run on this device (or the number of devices

    associated with the dev token).

The application signature is easier for me on the command line. This approach

not use debugging tokens, but do you some extra steps. The advantage here is

Once you have signed the app and tested, is ready to be downloaded

    market App World.

Initial steps (regardless of the approach you take):

    Not done only once:

Download and install BlackBerry AIR SDK

    1. register of RIM signing keys

    1. save your count with .csj and RIM servers signature files.

    2. activate the debug mode on PlayBook device (or Simulator).

    Steps for each new version/app

    3. build the swf file

4 generate the app.xml file - if the new version, the version number of update.

If the new application make sure that it is an id unique app

5 generate the file of the bar - descriptor.xml (this can be any name, such as

as long as it has the tags and the necessary info).

    Debug a symbolic approach:

Fact only once for the device you are testing with, only need to repeat

    If the token times out

    6 create the debugging token

    7. package app with debug and deploy it to the device token

    The signed app approach:

    Only once

    8. generate the signature .p12 file - use the same name of company

    files .csj

    9. package the app

10 sign the request (2 steps):

    10 a. signed with RIM

10 b. signs with the author

    11 deploy on the device.

Then, long answer to your short question, you do not regenerate debugging

token for each new version/app. If you go through the process of signature,

then you perform steps 9-11 every time. Don't forget to increment the version

number to sign the application again.

As you can see, it is much easier if you use FB 4.6 with BlackBerry

installation with the BB SDK of AIR tools.

    Good luck!

Due to the Java-based development system and inability to build C/C++ apps, the full Firefox browser will not be available on the Blackberry OS. However, a future version of Firefox Home may be available for Blackberry.
