4500th all-in-one: cartridge Incompatible but wait... it came with the printer?
So my new 4500e lasted 28 days prior to the display of an incompatible cartridge error. #61 provided with your printer. Bought a new one, same error. Software diagnostic reports same problem. How can it be incompatible? It is the cartridge for the printer. Currently retired and printing with the three colors only. Seams to be a lot of erros black cartridege on this site.
I delete note the software yet, but which can be then who or the printer. Any ideas? One has had this problem?
It turns out that the priner was bad. I spoke with Barb in support of customer and they have replaced the printer. I received it today and the old cartridges worked well in the new printer. Great support from HP!

My Dell 962 All In One Printer suddenly stopped to print. I get an error message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. The error message suggests that I unplug and plug back the power plug and the USB cable to the printer and make sure that there are no restrictions of firewall to the printer. I did what was suggested and still no printing. I have resinstaled the printer from the CD software, I got with the computer and also installed the latest driver using the software of the software upgrade wizard.

That would not have been the best idea... but it is unlikely that the cause of your immediate problem.

I suspect that what really happens is that the driver has become corrupted. In many cases, simply reinstall the driver is not fix things; you have to clean the old corrupt driver before installing the new. Thus, it is more likely that the part "Uninstall" the related response is what is helping rather than playing with services... but go ahead and follow these directions, just in case. In fact, I suggest that you run under first antimalware scanners before following the tips in the above link.
If I had not found the link above, that's what I would have suggested (whichrequires that you have Windows XP):
Often, but not always, the symptoms you describe are caused by a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver. However before you clean things up, on general principles, that you can download, install, update and run full scans with each of these two free programs.
Use the free version, not the free trials of "pro" versions Pay attention during installation uncheck any prechecked boxes that would install some additional third-party programs.
Do not run the scans at the same time. Each scan will take a while. Start one and go do a non-it chore. Once the scan is finished, leave the program to deal with anything it finds.
Once done, you can keep or uninstall programs, or both. If you keep SAS, I suggest to change its default setting does NOT automatically when Windows starts.
Uninstall all software from Dell to control panel > Add / Remove programs

Close all running applications (anything with an icon on the taskbar).
Run the Fixit routine. Note: The routine Fixit has two modes, light and complete. It will run in full mode when you check the box "Reset the spooler to print on values." This will remove all printers, so if you have any other printer installed, I recommend running the Fixit in full mode. If you have other printers and you do not (necessarily) want to reinstall them, run the Fixit in light mode (box unchecked). This may work anyway. You must restart the computer after you run in full mode; you need not restart after the Chase mode.
After the Fixit has executed and you have restarted if necessary, make sure that the printer is disconnected from the computer and run the installation software. You will be asked to connect the printer to a suitable place. All-in-one HP Officejet 6500 has: paper size or the type of error message problem
I have a HP Officejet 6500 all-in-one a and am running Win 7 on a desktop computer.
I get a paper mismatch (type and paper size is incorrect) error message.
The printer is not connected to the internet, but it is connected by a USB cable to the computer.
I look at the instructions to make an internet connection and they were just too complicated. So I download the update of the firmware and ran to the computer. He would not go beyond the area of printer selection where no printers were found. Clicking Refresh has not helped.
This update of the firmware seems to have solved the problem for some users, but I need to know how you install it.

I think I solved the problem. I went to the website to download drivers, etc., and, rather than to specify the printer, I clicked the button to let HP identify it. It came with the correct name (see post) preceding. Then, I downloaded and installed the full feature software and driver. The first attempt to print from Excel led to the mistake of page size, but, on a whim, I tried twice and had two successful prints without error. Until further notice, I mark this as solved problem.

I am running windows xp family. I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden, I get this message when I try and print to my lexmark x 1270 "communication not available with the printer. I tried every troubleshooter, I contacted Lexmark support that they gave up, saying: it must be a file is missing from the windows registry, you can help me?
It seems that if you say that the pilots were not reinstalled successfully. What was the mystery file that could not be found?
Do you remember how the software has been uninstalled? Was something else than the control panel > Add / Remove Programs (or the link "Uninstall" from start > all programs) used?
If you do not really clean things, attempts to reinstall the printer drivers may actually just end up putting the old drivers back in place.
This is the easiest way to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers: Article 1. The critical step is #4.

I asked the firewall and antivirus applications because sometimes, some security software may interfere with the printers. This shouldn't be a problem with the firewall of Windows XP and Microsoft Security Essentials.
Finally, your problem could end up being hardware related. Lexmark support has no hardware troubleshooting operation? The manual for your x 1270 says:
All-in-One is not communicating with the computer
1. disconnect and reconnect both ends of the USB cable. For more help, see the
installation documentation.
2 unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, plug it in again, and
Press Power. For more information, refer to the installation documentation.
3 restart the computer. If the problem continues, remove and then reinstall
the software. For more information, see page 16. [which ask you to remove the software using the link "Uninstall" - which is not complete, as described above]If you have another type of printer USB cable, you should try it exchanges. Ideally, you need to connect to the printer on another computer, but maybe it's not convenient for you.

Messgae keeps the problem with the print head. Manually clean the print head and ran the test. The test works very well. Next time the printer is used the same message appears.

I connect a HP all in one Photosmart 5510 to an ATT Uverse wireless network. It says printer is connected and printer tests are all good.., but still when I try to print, I get an error message saying that cannot communicate with the printer, make sure that it is attached to the network?

Bought an ASUS Eee PC a few months back - a well - was inactive for a few months and now has the following message displays on the screen "this copy of Windows is not genuine" - riddle previous owner installed Win 7 Professional w/o legitimate key?
