  • BlackBerry smartphone how to disable internet via the network, but leave the wi - fi on?

    Hi all

I'm new to Blackberry but love until now.  I have a questionette for you to wizzo on something that left me speechless:

My rate is not all internet at all (I'm only a poor pensioner!), but it seems that installation is there for me to use it if I do not pay attention if I want to turn it off permanently while installing wi - fi on.  This was possible on my android, but I gave to my wife because the screen is not too sensitive to my skin.  I got the Blackberry the the guy in the store where I bought it, but all he has done is disable data completely so now I can't use it on WiFi either.

Can you tell me if this is possible and if so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

As long as your data Services (under manage connections > Mobile Network Options) are lit, you will receive data via Wi - Fi.  When you turn on your Mobile network, you are turning ON the ability to receive calls and texts.  If you do not require these two features to be active (and therefore guarantee 100% that you use not any network data), then let your off Mobile network.  As you said, leaving the disabled Mobile network is similar to airplane mode.

I hope that clears up any confusion.  Please post back if I'm not understanding something.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to disable SureType worldwide.

How can I configure my STORM always use Multitap whenever it is in portrait mode?  Some of the app seems default SureType and others do not?  I don't want to have to switch to landscape or go to the menu every time, and does not have the landscape phone app, anyway.  SureType never seems to get close to "guess" what I am typing (commercial television thereon was misleading).

Options > screen/keyboard > keyboard in Portrait mode.

In fact, SureType works very well for me. I used it in the past of the 7100 and when I got the storm, I had to relearn to it, but if you give it two weeks and that it works for you (recommended such type by looking at the keyboard not the words "guessed", is more often correct.)

It does take some getting used to, but SureType works really well. If you give it two weeks, you'll be hooked.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to disable email automatic download?

I'm new to BB. Just got a Sprint Tour 9630. I have 5 email accounts; and I want to choose those who and when to receive mail on their part.  With the BB I would like to set up my e-mail account, and then choose not that it is active, unless I have indicate that I want it to be active.  Is there a way I make reading email on an account inactive without deleting the account?    I don't want to go through the work of repeated configuration and deletion of accounts.

The reason that I address email accounts active and inactive when I'm home, I want to read emails only about this and not go to BB.  However, when I'm on vacation, I would coming emails for BB. I get anywhere from 15 to 65 emails a day and you want to avoid additional costs for their management in two places.

    Yes, me too.

There is not a good solution for this. You are on a personal account of BIS, and your BlackBerry does what it was intended to do, and what made famous RIM-'push e-mail '.

Your options are to delete the account and reset each time, or at all least in BIS email setup, check and uncheck the section "transfer the messages on the device.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to disable the alarm for BB "BOLD" weekend

I just upgraded to a "BOLD" of Rogers BB and I am trying to turn off the alarm on the weekend options in the clock menu, but this option seems not to be available.  I'm on version 4.6.0.162.  I tried a version prior to the launch event, and this feature was available.  All previous software provided on the 8700 and the curve had this.

Go to the clock icon, press the menu key and select alarm. scrolling and forts of the party 'on', use the scroll ball to change it on OFF or during the WEEK. Once you have navigated to Monday to Friday, press the trackball and it will save it.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

You probably have a policy that has not been removed.

Click options to non-attached Members. It is not a field for it, just type buyr across the screen.

You have 3 additional lines down. Under the COMPUTER policy, we should have it disabled.

    I'll provide a link in a minute.

    Thank you
