BlackBerry Smartphone password protect Apps for BB 8320

I have a BB Curve 8320 and I know I can hide the message app but warning still appears. So I have two questions here: one; I can protect my message App password. And two; Can I do the alert Message disappear when I hide the App. ?

Check this out for protection of password:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IM best app for BB communication standard cell phone

    Hello world!

I have the Torch 9800 and use all my text plan on family members and friends from across the Atlantic.  I prefer to use my package data unlimited (the old $30 one) than my text plan.   Anyone has suggestions/input that IM app for BB uses data & also allows the Facebook chat?  Remember that not all people with that I keep in touch can download/use IM apps, so some will respond to me by text message internationally... which means that if it cost me, it will always cost an arm & a leg, and these costs will have a drastic effect on our communication. :-)  Yah, basically so I need something that will not exhaust my package of text, while being affordable for the international recipient.  Make sense?

So if you have a suggestion of app (free or paid), do not hesitate to comment!  THX...

    Hiya!

Well the most obvious choice is BBM (if they have a Blackberry) or by e-mail. Both are strictly data.

Now I just took some AT & T info and found this.

SMS and instant messages sent to the international telephone numbers from the U.S. Bill at a price of $0.25 per message, and are not decremented against package data or messaging package bucket. Messages received from Bill phone numbers international to the domestic BANK or packages.

Now, that being said, I also discovered that AT & T has an international messaging package that provides to clients in the messages of 100 US for $10 per month.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Password desktop manager for Mac?

You just bought a Tour 9630 w / Verizon and looking for a password dektop Manager that will sync with my Mac Mini.  Tried Splash ID for bb/Mac but does not connect 9630 Verizon with no WiFi icon.  Syncs with USB cable (why?). Do not want to manage passwords strictly of bb and heavens forbid doesn't want to go back to the PC.

Mac contacts sync ok w / bb desktop software.

    Any suggestions?

Is it me or I find a lot of software vendors don't want to play w / Mac (Garmin, Quicken, etc.?)?

Hah!  Answered my own question. SplashID Blackberry for Mac syncs with the Tour 9630 if you follow these instructions http://www.splashdata.com/splashid/userguide/bb/global-sync.htm.  I did it via an Airport Extreme.  Splash ID worked very well for me in the world of PC and Mac with Palm, I hope that the same will be true for BB now I can sync w / my office.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

    Are you referring to Picassa?

If you have a Google account, yes it is.

You will need a data plan to transfer the pictures, that's what they call in.

If you have unlimited data, you're good to go!

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few suggestions for future releases blackberry OS

    Hello

I hope that it reaches the right developers. I just had some suggestions for the future blackberry phone software (OS).

It should be an option to use the memory card to save data such as messages, e-mail, telephone directory, applications etc. This would prevent the messages are automatically deleted. At least the user should be warned etc. messages are deleted instead of remove them automatically!

Blackberry desktop software should also be able to back up third-party software.

There should be an option by which we can password protect applications/inbox/etc. individual according to our prefrance rather than to have just a password to lock the entire phone. In this way we can let someone use our phone, playing games, but do not have access to private data or personal information.

In the address book, we should be able to create a custome as Mobile 2, Home 3, etc. These days have several mobile phones, and it's boring store the secondary number in the pager, or other category. It is a basic solution and I am surprised blackberry doesn't have this option.

BlackBerry should also support youtube and also reording video.

Another feature that I suggest is related to the contact filter option. At present, we can select only a single filter to contact both. Now, it would be great if we have a mechanism by which we can select several filters in this way:

If I want to select all the people that are in the filter of the USA and who work for company X, I can choose the filter "and" in which the two categories are adapted (2 or more categories).

If I want to select people who are either in the United States or work for company X (I choose the filter 'or' for this).

You can have a function special directory where we choose to display only the phone numbers frequently and can put all the numbers that we use that often in a master directory. It would be convenient to so many people!

When sending SMS to multiple people, please select each individually. It would be nice if we could quickly select using checkmarks next to the person as a whole rather than separately.

We should be able to add the email as 'spam' of the handheld is.

We include a reminder of birthday for contacts, which is separate from the calendar option.

There is no weather app that comes with the blackberry! This a must and should be included.

Better and more realistic, as the navigation in the iphone. Web sites display in a way very non-eco-friendly and most of the pages are not available easily.

We should have a shortcut button to compose text messages just as we can press 'c' as quick make up for email.

These are just some thoughts I had on the way to improve the phone. Of course, applications are somewhat biased based on my needs but I really hope that some key developers fall on this post and implement these ideas in future versions of blackberry OS.

    Kind regards

    Ishan.

Good ideas. You must submit to [email protected].

  • BlackBerry smartphone password reset after the end of support

I have no more phone support.

My old password does not work.

I can't get my ID blackberry for work.

I want to just this device to open.

This means that you have your employers device, they have you removed from their network and forced a new password to you. You can call to ask what is the password.

BUT, probably, their intention to reset the password is for you to do a wipe of the device security so that none of the persistent employer email, data, etc., remain on this device.

After clearing security, you end up with essentially a new, fresh, device with no previous, ready to install as a personal device data.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone password expire in? days

    Hi gurus

I recently acquired a Bold 9700 and have set up a password for the device, but now I am regularly told that my password expire in so many days. I tried to find where to change this setting, but in vain.

Can someone tell me where I should be looking?

    Thank you

    Hello

Want to know where to change the password itself? Or where to change the password expiration (days) setting?

    For the password itself, see:

    • Article ID: KB00588 Security password for the BlackBerry smartphone

However, for the time-out setting, it's something completely different and not really controllable by the end user. So, first question... are you part of a BES environment? If so, then check with your BES admins they control it.

If you are not part of BES, then check this, you can:

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

If there is an IT strategy and that you are not part of BES, so that that you got the device does not correctly clean up everything first. Reference:

    • Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

If all the other steps necessary for the seller are completed, you can delete it strategy through this procedure:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

If, in this context, you choose to do a backup/restore, and then not to do a full restore of your device that you saved before the ResetToFactory. On the contrary, do only a selective restore and specifically avoid restore databases that have to do with THIS, policy, business, or something else of that nature. If you restore those, he will dutifully restore it on the device policy, and you will be right back where you started.

Good luck and let us know!

  • With the help of blackBerry Smartphones as a Textphone for deaf

    Hello

I'm really interested in the private Blackberry because it has a physical keyboard and can also run android applications.  I wonder do you know if it will run without a doubt the next generation text relay service app for the deaf? as it would a great compact minicom/textphone.

    http://NGTS.org.UK/

This application is available for free in the game of google (called NGT Lite) store.

Also. I have currently a phone Samsung S4 is the same type of SIM as the PRIV would use? I'm with giff gaff... I would be able to share package data with my biggest Samsung Tab Pro if necessary?  (I can't read the Web pages on a screen that is smaller, much easier on the 12.2 "display).

Finally... She has the same accessibility as the old Blackberry Storm had with prediction of words and the ability to take "shortcuts"?   IE, affect entire sentences to an abbreviation as this feature in particular would be great to have to quickly give details by phone where it should be mentioned the address and the same every time for example.  .. or implement the introductery sentences before calling to save time. and speeding up call for example rp = "Hi, I need to order a prescription repeat it please", fn = sends name meds = sends a list of what I I need drugs etc.

It would really speed up communication of phone for me, as my old minicom has no features as what you have to type everything letter by letter and companies have stopped making them or brand new more, it seems.

    Thank you

    Kati

  • BlackBerry smartphone password does not

I just updated my blackberry curve and then installed the software blackberry on my new computer. When this is complete, he asked my blackberry user ID and password. I did have one, so I put one up successffully.

Then I tried to plug my camera on my computer with a USB cable I could not continue with the wireless connection. It requires a wired connection. Once I did that, he asked the password for my device. I assumed that it was the security password that I used to go to my phone. I walked in this digitally of the key number several times and it didn't work.

Then, I went back to my phone and entered there and it worked so I tried again to the computer, but even once, it did not work. Then I thought that was maybe missing my blackberry ID password so I tried and it doesn't work. Thinking that I maybe entered my password wrong ID blackberry I have successfully changed and tried again this password. It did not work. So, I went back to try the password of security for my phone. That would not work either.

Frustrated I then went back to the phone and noted that now when I try to enter my password as the characters appear they don't not before and I need to press the ALT key to give numbers. Nothing seems to work.

I wonder if, when you plug in the device, it missed my device security password or my blackberry ID password? I have an attempt to the left, and then my phone will be wiped clean of data that I really need. I tried to configure things so that I could get back data up to when it started to happen.

My last thought was that when I would normally enter the password on my phone I would just key numbers that I use without hitting the ALT key. Now I think that if I implemented this way maybe I have actually set up the password with letters instead of numbers. I'm afraid to try because this is my last attempt before losing all data. I first want to know if the unit is now looking for the blackberry ID password or the password of security? The password ID blackberry is now the password used for my device as well? If not then I'll try the letters and try my luck.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I fear that, with just the one attempt remaining, there is no hope. What you are saying is everything is correct... unless you use the ALT key for each digital character, which you wind upward with is just a numeric character followed by the alpha characters where you thought you were typing numbers. But, at this distance of the internet, we have no way to tell you what is correct or not correct. I know, it's that this IS NOT your password BBID... strictly username password locking device, created originally on the device and unlock whenever it locks. The same password must be used on the PC to connect to the desktop software. But, the content of the password, alpha or numeric, must match exactly... and if indeed as you fear, you could have involved the use of the ALT key on the device, then you may never be able to know what your password was never really. With just one attempt left, all I can advise is to use the BB to re-enter, but you only get the one chance of doing things.
