BlackBerry Smartphone PIN security

I downloaded an app from BB App World. Developers, MMMOOO, request the PIN phone to activate the application completely. Is it safe?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

In general, Yes. A lot of apps is activated by a key code that they send you. And this code will not work on your device. Many developers tie so the activation code on the BB SPINDLE (which is unique in the world) so that the user cannot distribute to everyone.

See you soon!

I recently acquired a 8820, but I can't remove the security settings.  I'm currntly do not have access to a PC to connect the device to.  is there a way to delete the settings?  Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Exactly what 'security settings' you are asking about? Only these words, there are a lot of possibilities...

My guess - if your BB has a policy due to have been associated with a BES environment

    • KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

and if you want that political removed, then see this KB:

    • KB14202 How to remove a policy from IT to a BlackBerry smartphone

You will notice that methods 1, 2 and 3 require the admin BES to do something... If you are no longer associated with the BES, then these methods do not work, which leaves... method 4 not requiring connection to a PC.

On the other hand, if I guessed wrong, then please specify exactly what 'Security Settings' you're curious about.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Pin problems

Before explaining my problems I'd like say thanks to anyone reading this.

First off I bought an unlocked storm used outside the internet as it was so much cheaper just to buy it outright, thinking that I would use it on a gsm network. I had not done my homework at this time and looked at the history of phone because I didn't think it was relevant.

So I receeive the phone and it's unlocked, but my gsm provider tells me that they cannot activate the service internet blackberry device PIN ([personal information deleted]) is locked to another provider, as I need to contact them to get what he launched or the owner. I went to send an email to the seller, no response after 1 week so I called verizon here is the STORM is classified as stolen/lost and they will not leave the PIN.

I checked everywhere and without it beeing unblocked/out my storm is virtually only gd to place and receive calls at this stage. Does anyone know a workaround for this or an alternative solution.

    Thank you

    hrivet

    Hello!

drizzt09 is correct... you are out of luck... and lucky to get any service at all. Looking to contact the seller, and if they are reputable, they may resolve the situation. Only the registered owner of the BB on the prior carrier can release the ANKLE... no one else can. Unfortunately, because the camera is on the list and that they don't react, my guess is that they are not reputable and the stolen report is true. In this case, you are, unfortunately, no luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones pine is get rejected and it tells me to enter 'blackberry to continue. "

I'm so frustrated that I can't even begin to explain that this will be my third time having all my data wiped!

It all started when I plugged my mobile phone via the usb port on my pc I want to import data from my pc that I exported from my old phone nokia 6500.desktop screen asked me to password-i entered my password of security that I had created 290600, it's declined.then I entered the pin code that was in the box provided with the phone that was also denied. WHAT PASSWORD IS NECESSARY.

    There3 I know

    1. my pin sim, 2 my security pin that I created, pine says on the box that came with the phone next to the EMEI number.

I am entering the word "blackberry", but it is not yet unlock... PLEASE HELP, IM LOSING MY MIND AS I CAN'T GET TO READ MY SMS NOW.

If you have a full QWERTY keyboard on your BlackBerry, your password is not 290600, its ec0f00. Get it? You think it as numbers, you're actually typing the letters. Even with the Pearl - I don't know the translation.

How to make the PIN Message appear when I want to send the message as a Message of PIN?

I assume that you have removed the battery and still do not see the option?

    Here's what I recommend:

Perform a full backup of your BlackBerry using the desktop software. Instructions are here:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB12487

Reset the unit to factory settings. Instructions are here:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB18998

When the unit starts back after reboot see if the option is available.

Restore your data from the backup file. Instructions are here:

  • BlackBerry smartphone Pin bar code

Hi all, I wanted to know if there is a way to print my pine bar code or save it as a jpeg file, I can the printed on the back of my business card. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thank you

Good idea! They are known as QR codes, by the way.

In your case, you can easily do this by using a screen capture software to capture an image of your QRcode on the screen, then sending an e-mail to yourself.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones, how secured is the characteristic of the wipe on the BlackBerry? Should I be worried?

Before starting playback, please understand that I am a stickler for security and other security gurus to help me with my dilemma. I'm new to BlackBerry phones, but not a beginner in the scene full tech. "BOLD" subsection includes issues that I really want to learn more about.

Right here. I have an iPhone with OS 1.0 and origin, we couldn't guarantee wipes. Actually, to fill the disk with music and videos so that it would replace all the information. Had to do this many times (5-10 x times) also, because just fill out once wasn't enough to write the data. But with the 2.0, Apple where you can have the iPhone do a safe clear by writing zeros to the drive. It took a while (1 hour or more), but it does the job.

Well, I grew up now and I moved to the BlackBerry platform. I started the year with the "BOLD" last and will move into the Curve 8900. But before I do, the wife wants to sell me the "BOLD" first. But before I sold it, I want to ensure all wipe top. All DIY guides say to go to options > Security > and wipe the device and type the word "blackberry". Great! Now I know how to do it.

But what I want to know is now the wiping method is it secure? Can someone, if someone restore my contacts, passwords or anything that has been stored? I do what I did for my original iPhone to the "BOLD" and fill it with data and wipe the Unit 5 times or more?

    Wipe is a safe action.

I am not aware that someone can restore information after the memory has been erased.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones bluetooth security

When I configure a device as safe or trusted, I write the pass whenever I connect with this device. After writing 2 passwords... I have to choose "Receive via bluetooth" or something like that, if I want to be able to receive data from my TRUSTED device.

I mean... Is it possible to not have to choose "Receive via bluetooth" and do not write the password every time?

It's very frustrating. If I have my blackberry on my bedside table I have to get up and go to write the password, then select the 'Receive by bluetooth' thing whenever I want to receive a file. If I receive 50 files...

If I want to get up, I just connect the blackberry by USB.

So please, y at - it an idea?
