BlackBerry smartphones a little trouble internet browser...

Hello. I would like to start by saying Merry Christmas to you all. It's almost midnight where I am meaning that it's almost Christmas!

Now, to get to my question, the Blackberry Storm is my first blackberry, so I'm still getting used to the BlackBerry. My question is currently my browser. It is said that my device has no entries in the directory service configuration any blackberry. I have to contact Verizon to activate my browser.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem other than contacting Verizon?

Hi and welcome to the forums! Merry Christmas!

You can send service books to your device by using the e-mail settings icon in the setup folder.

You can also send service directories via a PC. Log in to the site of the BIS and select the shipping service

options books.

Links for both are attached.

  • Not have blackBerry smartphones to connect to internet

I realized that my phone is unable to connect to the internet, even if I am able to send and receive emails from my phone and my wifi connection is fine. I tried to take the battery, return service directories to my phone and I also went to the registry option in the host routing table but does not change every time that I try to use the Web browser. It loads for a while and then the message "unable to connect to the internet, try again later appears. Is there anything else I should do? Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the community!

From your post, I can't tell if you do them in the order required... or know if every successful step as they should before moving on to the next step. So, with a strong carrier signal AND your WiFi radio OFF, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support... After all, it's their network with which your BB is to have trouble communicating.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones to remove permanent Wifi browser - how?

I haven't bought a 9700 ROGERS no contract to replace my phone to work. The policy of the company, is that none of the mobile devices cannot have any method of navigation interenet. The 9700 will not network go, unless you have a blackberry data plan and I have nothing but personal messaging plan which works well. The problem I have is that the wifi browser still works and even when I remove the wifi browser in the service books, it is just when I do a battery pull. How can I permanently get rid of the wifi browser without being connected to a BES? (the company doesn't have a BES) - hide the icon isn't enough...

Thank you J Sanders. Sounds like something that will work. Forgive my ignorance, but where can I find version 5.0.0 for my 9700? -When I search the Blackberry site and enter my PIN (a ROGERS device) they do not show a BONE available for the 9700 yet...   I can't get the unit off I can? I really think what I need to know how to "install your current OS on your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer?  Thanks for your help, otherwise I can't use this unit that I paid $600 for

    Before you start:
Install your current OS on your smart phone BlackBerry to your PC.

    1. on the PC, go to C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\LoaderFiles\OS version\Java.
Create a new folder and name it deleted.

    2A c:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\LoaderFiles\OS version\Java

Find the .cod named net_rim_bb_browser_dameon and move it to your new folder cod.

    3. plug the device and on your PC, open the Desktop Managver > AppLoader > Add/Remove programs and work your way through the process to remove the net_rim_bb_browser_dameon module. You won't notice any changes until after you see the screen of the Application loader, don't click on the boxes, click Next, then finish. ONLY you will see it after clicking Finish a quick notice that the module browser_daemon is deleted.

Close DM at the end leave your device restart.

After a reboot, you can get a java error at startup. Ignore it.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to activate Internet on BES navigation

    Hi all

I'm trying to activate internet browsing from Blackberry devices. Joana re connect a BES Server 4.1.6.19 version, and I have about 60 users. This is a new server is a new domain. I confirmed that devices are capable, because they are all previously belonging to another area, that was the BES server already configured for internet access.

My BES connects through a proxy server for internet. I have not fully understood all areas that need to be configured, and I'm getting a "error Http 403: Forbidden" error.

I already configured the BES as follows - I am I missing?

Properties of the field of BB
Create an extraction rule, add group,
Rules of the user, add users to the Group
    Create a URL schema, http *. *
The URL scheme rules, check 'allow' for the Group
    Properties of MDS connection service
HTTP - support HTTP auth = true
Proxy - direct and other maps

I found a way to do it now...

Basically, I got the below appropriate configuration. The problem was that my proxy server has been the traffic stop. I added a new ISA access rule to allow traffic from my BES server on ports 80 and 443, and it works.

I am not sure that the "HTTP - supported HTTP auth = true' value is really necessary, but I'll play with it later. I hope that everyone in the research on this topic will find this post, then save them from time to time I spent.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can you change default browser Bing?

I noticed that when I click on the logo of the Web browser and search the internet, she is treated by bing.  I clicked on the gray area of browser and lists Bing, Wikipedia, and Dictionary.com.  I went to 'Advanced Options' and clicked on browser.  You can choose BlackBerry browser, internet browser, or hot.   I don't see an option to enter and save my ie Google browser choice.   Any thoughts?  I appreciate it...

UPDATE - browser search speed.  If I open the BB browser icon and perform research, it takes very, very long time.  If I first entered google, get to the top of google and to then find that the answer is significantly faster.   All thoughts.   I tried it on my Wifi and 3 G thank you network

  • BlackBerry smartphones why is my internet so slow? How can I do it fast again?

Okay, so I have a curve 8520... My used internet download speed to be around 30 kb/s, but since a few months I just can't download anything at all because I'm lucky if my speed has now reached 1 KB/s.

I didn't do anything to my phone, have not changed the settings...

I don't think App World verson 3. What could be the problem? I don't know, may be just a coincidence, but since I upgraded who * bleep * what happened.

Anyone with the same problem who managed to solve their internet? I need help before I break this phone. I mean, blackberry makes me pay for internet service every month, but what good is it if I don't get all the possibilities of the internet?

Thus, unless RIM releases a few statements to the press (as they did last year), official information available comes from your carrier.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones don't active Internet e-mail account since I hard reset my torch 9800

HI, I made a hard reset recently because I wanted to delete my e-mail of the company. Since that time, I can't active internet E-mail like Hotmail on my torch 9800. I can activate my old email in the "Account Activation Email" menu, but when I try to verify my password I got an error "sorry, impossible to continue your session. Please log in again,' is anyone know what I can do to activate my old email or a new one?

In your phone's browser, select http://mobile.blackberry.com .  Scroll to the bottom for Communications and electronic mail.  You can activate your email account for your phone from there.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones no e-mail or browser from USA visit

Blackberry UK on the BT Business/Vodaphone network owner

need help... I recently returned from the United States where my bb8300 has worked for a few days then developed problems to connect to AT & T (she picked up the AT & T network as soon as I landed). Browser kept hanging and impossible to open all pages (error, a problem occurred when trying to render the page)

A phone reset - nothing has changed.

Don't worry too much as I was on vacation. and thought maybe it was the USA Network.

When I got back to England, my phone is back to the Bt network and began to receive mail as usual.

Now 2 days later everything has stopped.

I did a reset of the phone - withdrawal of the battery while on after reading other forum problems.

I am not able to send or receive emails or browse the internet.

I sent new books from my web site of service service... I have not received notifications on my phone

my status shows that I am connected to the wireless network (green light)

    any ideas?

    Hello

Just to let you know what will HRT do:

HRT is the host Routing Tables.

It's entries sent by the carrier.

When you highlight the entry above and you click on register now, he recorded with the wireless network. Update the details of the device on the relay of the rim and down icons specific carrier or applicants.

The main reason, you need to clear a device after that someone uses it or u change provider to clear the entries of hrt.

For example, its common for a user 83xx go abroad, work very well, come home, but then can't get data connection (EDGE, GPRS, etc.)

It's because the HRT entries become corrupt or invalid as the o/s carrier may have sent down another 5 entries. So we take a report of each case, record the entries of the hrt and which countries they are gone to and then escalate the problem to the RIM. the solution is to wipe the device and reactivate.

    Hope that helps.

  • BlackBerry smartphones my 7230 has no browser?

Hey guys this is my first post.
I just got a Blackberry 7230 RIM and the ladie that put in place an at & t says to call 611 to configure the browser. We did, and they could not help at all. When I go to Options > Applications > it says browser and its 4.0. But there is no icon on the main screen. I have only two options for the browser. the browser option: when I open it it just says: "the default browser configuration" and nothing is selectable. and the Push browser option, which has a lot of controls. Since I didn't have a browser I downloaded Opera Mini 3 on my phone, and it may not always connect. It says "change internet settings.
Anyway, is there a way I can activate my browser on my phone or download the original browser?

    Thank you.

In order to get a browser need a BlackBerry data Plan through your carrier.

In regards to the opera, you need the parameters ATT found Options > TCP settings.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones confused about worlds App Browser-still cannot download a particular application

OK, so I'm among those who have difficulties in the App World on my mobile phone.  I tried to download an application and that it froze essentially on me saying "start download" and I have not been able to get rid of the icon in "MyWorld" of this application from Blackberry App World.

BlackBerry Tech says this is a known problem and it will be fixed as soon as

I just heard the announcement that Blackberry App World can now be read online vs cell phone only

    http://appworld.BlackBerry.com/WebStore/

I found the app I wanted and tried since Friday, entered my email address but he never did a normal download it came with 2 options:

    «Open in Blackberry App World»

    OR

    'Download App World '.

What the heck, I thought that the online consultation to your home desktop computer and your mobile phone was a way to download an application to the outside using the App World dang total application?

I would try an application and see what it says

    Yes; 2 the same means.

So maybe I misread the whole purpose of put the App World in a browser based environment vs being on mobile phone only.

Is - it so people can surf the internet and make it more easy for them to find the apps they want so they don't have to use the cell phone a lot?  That means that rather a consumer mobile phone battery waste put App World in a browser environment, it will be much easier to consult/download etc?

Or as I said, I thought Blackberry App World in a setting of browser was an "alternative" to download the application, so we do not use the actual application?

    / sigh

The web version of the App World is indeed a place to see the apps.  I think that this has been implemented to mitigate somewhat complaints people where they wanted to they could just browse the catalog of online via their computer applications (bigger screen, faster, etc.).  Of course, RIM has put it, so now we want more.

I don't know what are the plans for the future of RIM for the web version, but for now, the only way you can download apps is via AppWorld on your phone.  I think that it is also partially AppWorld being able to communicate directly with your phone to determine the model number of your phone, PIN, etc.  You will notice that all applications for all devices currently on the web version, while the version you have on your phone displays the specific applications that are compatible for your phone.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones inability to use the browser

Hi, this is my first thread and I have a big problem with my curve.

About 5 days ago I couldn't access my browser anymore. The same message is displayed every time that I have enter a URL or try to look for something. He said: "this is a problem when trying to render the page. The strange thing is my email and facebook still work. I have no problem receiving or sending emails, and my facebook app still works fine. I tried to link my WiFi to my home router, but who has not yet solved the problem. I put it on T-Mobile internet standard service, but still nothing. Is my phone broken or is it something else?

NOTE - I have no other problems with the phone. Send and receive texts still working and still takes work.

Will try "manage connections" and disable "mobile network"... wait a few minutes... turn it back on. Also do a battery Pull:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unable to access Internet in WiFi hotspots such as Starbucks

Ok.  I've scoured the forums here and almost everywhere possible on the net with over some luck to find an answer for almost a month.  I am currently on the cards by Fido. I bought a BB curve about a month ago because I was told that it has built in WiFi.

I have no problem connecting to my wireless home network.  Weather, that I secure it or not secure.  I have no problem connecting to any open or secured wireless network.  When I have a problem is when I go to places like Starbucks where there a login screen.  So, I'm unable to connect at all.

Search for networks, it finds the network.  I select the network.  Then, he said that it is connected.  So I'll try to go on the internet and it gives me just a blank white screen.  Now I find that my BlackBerry is just a useless paperweight because mainly I got to use in Starbucks coffee shops, since that is where I am much of the time.

I tried to go to bell.ca and see if I could access it like this (as I read somewhere to try this), still no luck.  My question is, why would I be said that it has built in wifi, if it only works on some networks?  It is able to be used on networks that have a login screen or is not able to?  And there at - it something I am doing wrong?  It shows the name of bell's access point when it says connected.  And I made sure that I put it in wireless mode.  I had other devices (Palm Pilot) who had no problems to connect.  What is the built in wifi point if it does not work on all wifi networks?

Ultimately what I want to know, is how to get my BlackBerry to bring up the pages of connection of these "hot spots"?  Weather in Starbucks, libraries, other cafés etc. ?

I can't guarantee that it will work, but it is worth trying.  After you open your browser to connect to a wifi hotspot, press the BB Menu key and select Options and choose the Configuration of the browser.  Then, with the browser setting, try to set it to "Hotspot browser."

Who help me?  Otherwise, let me know and I'll see if I can get my Storm2 to connect to Starbucks or other hotspot later today.
