    Hi guys,.

I am a first time user, so I have a lot of questions on this BB curve. I bought a second hand curve and I have no idea how to set this phone (only bought the model, it has no manual and accessories). Here are my questions and thanks in advance to those who can answer:

    1. my IP address is 0.0.0.0 - I can connect to the WiFi network but I can't browse the web

2 if I have the program installation/create a bb here id, can I use it on my handheld?

    3. what an erasure of memory wipe exactly and an erasure of memory affect my id card/BBM SIM as well?

    Hi Alex121289

Welcome aboard BlackBerry family and community

First I would like to that you visit BlackBerry 101 and manual BlackBerry Curve - manuals and Guides for getting started

Secondly if you have purchased a device used by one of your friend or any store online then it is always advice to do a security wipe to remove any objects associated with the previous user. You can see this help Article:

KB28225 : BlackBerry Smartphone must be wiped before transferring the security property

    With regard to your questions:

1 carrier little need short data even plan to navigate the Internet, even via wifi. So aske your operator if you need some sort of data plan to your account

4: you can create a new BlackBerry ID on the site Web de BlackBerry ID that you can use on your device, see this KB:

KB24062 : How to create a BlackBerry ID

    3. If you do a security wipe on your device it will remove all the installed user application, e-mail accounts so that your card memory if you insert memory card while doing a security wipe. Yes, it will remove the BlackBerry ID that is already associated with this device, after a wipe, you can use a new BlackBerry ID or even that you use before, but a security wipe has nothing to do with your SIM card.

However... With your query 1"not able to navigate on the internet". Like you bought this device in some cases if your device has a COMPUTER policy then IT can prevent browser so my suggestion... Rather than to do a security wipe you reset your device to factory setting, this will remove all political and helps solve your problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how out of the loop of ID

My old BB Bold died on me - and I mean dead. No discount to zero and even the Desk top manager doesn't recognize it. I bought a Torch 9800 has changed the SIM card and it worked fine, until it came to the e-mail set up. I could remember my user name but not the password. I duly clicked 'forgot password' and back came the answer password sent to your B'berry. Probably at my "BOLD" dead. Because I can not access my mail to set the address on the new torch, because I need the password, I'm stuck here. I went to the site of B'berry ID, punch in the username and they too want to sent me a password to my address B'berry. I tried my service provider to get the password. Once more sent to my address mobileemail. They do not provide access to my address mobileemail, web-based as well as possibility of password recovery was released. I tried to go back and recreate a new user ID. No problem until I come to the e-mail address, how I threw because the address is already in use - no surprise, except that I can't use it.

Is there someone who can suggest a way out of this? Short of renouncing the B'berrys and the purchase of an another smart phone providers.

Thank you very much for your promt reply. I tried your advice/suggestions, but without success. I can only conclude that your point about the dangers of use BIS for the was/is the real pitfall BBID enamel only. My provider has been particularly useless and made disparaging remarks about the problems caused by the so-called B'berry accounts 'package '. The megastore where I bought my BB Bold faithful a few years before, is more about B'berrys and were unable, rather reluctant to help. Europe becomes a wilderness of B'berry. So, I think after 10 years of happiness of Blackberry and three days of effort wasted his defeat in face of time and switch to another system.

Thanks again for your help. You can't win them all; as the proverb says.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones, increasing the time of the ring on Pearl 8110 smartphone

My phone only rings 3 times before going to voicemail.

Other mobile phones that I used was an option to set the time that the phone to ring for seconds (usually up to a maximum of 30 seconds).

Anyone know if this option exists on the Pearl 8110 smartphone?

    Sort this sorry.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Message received time?

Hi, is it possible to know when a text message well was sent to me rather than at the time that I have received? If my phone is turned off when a message is sent to it relays only time I received when switched back on (not much use).

There is no option to view this info in the default BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Date and time in received messages

    Hello.

We have a 8310 with an account configured OWA (Blackberry Internet Service) device. Last weekend I had turned it off and today when I turn, device starts download of mail e-mail, but all the email appears with the date and time when it is inserted in the device. I have to open each email to see the real date and time what's happened to the mailbox.

Are there settings to display items sorted by date of receipt in the mailbox, and not in the device?

    Thank you

This is the way of design. Incoming messages will always have a time stamp from the moment they are delivered to a BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones NOT WORK - Timer in the clock function

My timer no longer works... I'm going to set the hour and press start and it goes straight to the "done Timer" and jumps at 00:00:00

I did a batt pull too. No help.

It worked once, but not anymore. I have the OS v4.7.0.75

    Any ideas?

I had this same problem.  It appeared to start (timer stop working) when I tried to install some 3rd party applications supported.

The process of recovery for me was to erase the Organizer.

I conncected first BB storm to my computer.

    Launch the Blackberry Desktop Manager

    Click the backup and restore

Click on the backup on the backup device.

Once the backup is complete, on the device, go to Options, Security Options, General settings.  Press the "berry" on the device, select "Wipe Handheld".

There were two options where I could choose the wipe type I wanted.  I chose that one would have left my only applications installed.

When the erase is complete, connect to the computer and run Blackberry Desktop Manager and perform the restore operation.

In my case, before I did the restore operation, I checked the timer to see if it worked (it was).  After the data is restored, it still worked.

Hope this helps... Sorry this is a long post.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones gray out?

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8130.  I love her, for the most part.  I'm here to learn more about this however.

I had this strange problem lately.  Rather than show me the "bars", it has the words (in gray) OFF in the upper right corner.  I took it to the Verizon store and they simply ripped off the back and pulled out the battery.  I tried twice now and nothing.

My Bill is paid and my husband's phone works perfectly, (we are on the same plane).

    Someone has an idea?

    Thank you

    Juli

Look for the icon of radio antenna (mine is downstairs) called "manage connections" and click on it.  The top menu item can say 'turn all connections off' or 'enable all connections '.  I recommend all off, THEN turn them.  It seems that your radio was turned off inadvertently.  Hope that's all.

  • Help of blackBerry Smartphones in startup time of acceleration

Hi I've heard, read and seen reports that the Bold 9700 boots/boot is 'slow' in less than 3 minutes for a smartphone compared to a similar specced to do elsewhere.

is there a way to accentuate or to speed up the startup time of this phone actually? an update of the upcoming firmware that will solve?

I never said anything about music and files on the press card.

I only said that the more 3rd party applications installed longer it takes to start up.  It's just the way of java is.  The device must read each of these java .cod files when it starts up.  The more therre are to read, the longer it takes.  If youre device takes several minutes to start, then everything is normal.  It's just the way it is.

  • BlackBerry smartphones long startup time on "BOLD", how to shorten?

How a phone taking a few minutes to start up can be rectified. We know it please

It is impossible. This is the time required.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones coming out E Mails

    Morning all,

No apparent reason my Blackberry 9320 stopped sending my outgoing emails of e. The message immediately the red X for not sent. I have two e mail accounts and have tried to send on both accounts. I looked through the 'manage connections' and 'set up' menus and cannot find the problem. At this point, I found a list that said that Blackberry Enterprise Server is not connected (I can't find now) could that be the issue?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Jack

    Ok.

Open one of these emails sent or not.

    Scroll down to the headers.

    What is the error message?

Go to Options > device > Advanced Options > default of Services.

Set your default mail service email there.

He must put it back. A SLIGHT pressure. Space without the tab must be facing up.

If you can't replace it, or the tabs on the silver ring are broken, if your machine is new, your carrier must replace under warrantly.

If not, look at my signature for the link to the Horizon, they sell them quite expensive.

  • Problems of blackBerry Smartphones Daylight Savings Time calendar

I've recently updated to BB Pearl and using the Desktop Manager Version 4.2.0.14.   I had installed the DST 2007 patch on PC for the old BB and had no problems in the past.  Now with the new BB all my appointment next week schedule are off by one hour on my BB.  It's havoc with my scheduling and synchronization with Outlook calendar.   Any ideas?

Update - after a search through this forum has finally found a link for the 2007 DST Patch that had told me was not necessary for the Pearl.   Downloaded the patch and everything works fine now.
