Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or all supported. Please press on and press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will appear a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always look here (home, BBM, Message, phone, browser), appropriate to other applications. are running.

Always try to properly close the Applications - avoid using the end key to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. Please take a look at those Article I don't know that it will help you overcome your problems:

Is there a reason even after obtaining a replacemenet of battery (real bb battery) the battery everything better yet more die sooner then I am used to?

I do not keep open applications and when those open inadvertendly close immediately. Y at - it an oil change I can miss? I load my home charger never night (dead battery) and charger for car use on way hoping to work 20% left to as 16:00 and from 06:00.

Battery can get to 18:00 or 19:00 without need of a boost. Just curious.

Recently I reset my BB Torch and I was faced with a similar situation. I took a few steps and now battery ends in 2 days normally. First of all reduce the screen brightness. I will increase by nearly 20 to 30% of the time of the battery. If you have defined green LED that is breathing led that flashes at the top when there is network, disable it. Do not keep Wifi and BlueTooth when you are not using. And check if your mobile phone does not send MMS due to a virus attack. All these measures can save battery in good condition. • BlackBerry Smartphones battery discharge when it is turned off

    Hello!

Since I've updated my device software I encounter the following problem.

Whenever I turn off my BlackBerry (8310) it seems to be disabled. However when I want to turn it back on (the more often in the morning), it appears to be dead. When I plug it into the wall to recharge, the battery symbol lights up. This obviously means that the battery was completely dead.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you very much!

    Patrick.

The battery of the device doesn't have energy for a reasonable period.

Patrick, I would certainly consider the replacement of the battery with a new one.

Yes, I suggest to make a back-up first and install the latest OS for your device (from your carrier). Once installation is complete give 1 or 2 days so that it can be fully synchronized.

    Keep us informed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones active new SIM - now phone SOS only

Hi all. Have a little problem. I had to go back to an old 9700 When my current iPhone broke. I needed a new card SIM from the iPhone using a different card. When I called Rogers to activate the SIM everything was fine for about a minute. I received texts that were pending since Sunday when my iPhone broke. I had full bars etc. Once a minute, he went to SOS only. While I was on the phone with Rogers Tech Support I have reset and removed the battery and SIM and all the things they wanted me to. Everything looks good on their system, he said that the problem must be with the device.

    A bit on the device:

Originally with Mobilicity in 2009. Opened and used with the wind. My father then used with Rogers and Fido. Since Sunday, when my phone broke, I used SIM card of my brother-in-law (he just swung at Rogers to the wind, but his plan has always been paid until the end of September) and the BB worked very well. If it worked correctly with a Rogers SIM.

Now, I get the same problem with my brother-brother SIM. SOS only. No connection. What happened when active Rogers SIM card must have done something to the camera itself because now it does not connect to any of them. That both SIMs work as I have tested both in my wife's phone.

The guy on the Support of Rogers suggested that perhaps the closed phone itself - but when I enter the settings advanced for the SIM card that everything is disabled in customization... so it appears not to be locked.

He said that I should try to reinstall the OS, but that it will block the phone and I need to unlocked again.

Is there anything else it could be? Will reinstall the OS relock the phone? Any other suggestions?

    Thank you very much!

Is there anything else it could be? Will reinstall the OS relock the phone? Any other suggestions?

First this... avoid this tech Rogers like the plague. He has no idea what he's talking about. All what he told you is simply not possible. Once MEP unlocked, a BB device can blocked at the factory. Nothing of what you have done or the facilities of any OS can relock a BB.

I'd rather a complete security on the Device Wipe:

    • KB14058 How to delete all data and applications in the smartphone BlackBerry using the security option wipe

    Otherwise, a ResetToFactory WIPE:

    • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

After each one, put it in the SIM card and switch on the device, and then make sure that the voice is through Rogers. Only then start to worry about getting all the data to work (if you subscribe BIS, in other words).

If you want to get off the OS Reload path, then the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below. (not applicable in your situation)

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery?

Recently, I found my BB strom drain battery very fast. It only last a day maximum and turned off the coast of himself. and when I turn it on it shows "battery drained, shoutdown pocket."

everyone knows what is happening with my battery? THX

Hi and welcome to the forums!

I heard that Facebook is a major drain.

Also not properly closing applications by using the option of closing or exit will result

in several applications running for no reason. Constant use of GPS and Bluetooth

While not in use drip the battery as well.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery draining way too fast

At my curve for a couple of years now. Throughout the last two weeks, it starts to drain a battery in 4 hours with moderate use. And it's the same if I use the old or one of my new batteries, so it is obviously not the battery itself. Even if I don't use it, it will go to red in 6 to 8 hours, where it is used to hold a charge for a few days, even with heavy use. I checked the terminals and they are clean.

    Any thoughts?

The PTT is maybe a problem. Check with your service provider if it can be disabled or removed from your device.

As last step you can try to recharge the device:

    1. portable data backup: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB12487

    2 backup 3rd party applications: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-back-up-3rd-party-applications-53201/

    3. perform a clean installation of your operating system: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320

4 restore backup database (only important, those for example address book): http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

5 restore apps backed up in step 2.

  • Update blackBerry Smartphones has done and now battery takes place after about 5-6 hours

    Hi all

Last night I did the upgrade and I noticed that my battery is exhausted after about 5 or 6 hours of normal use. In the past, I walked every day with normal use. I don't know if an app is just running all the time and who impoverish the layer in the stack. Can anyone suggest how I could pick what could be the problem? I installed outside the standard apps, Pandora and Weatherbug. Pandora I normally just move away and Weatherbug, I set to check once every few hours of weather reports.

    Thank you in advance, John

As requested I will solve this thread. My storm battery life seems to be fine now. I'm not sure what the issue that caused the reduced battery charge was, maybe it was the app Weatherbug pulling information every 30 minutes or some other problem. In any case, it works fine now.

Thank you all for your answers

  • BlackBerry Z10 battery discharged during the loading of the next day

Interesting to note, that I just got my Z10 a few days ago and have used my old BB Bold charger to charge my Z10 overnight. He worked for several days, but this morning I woke up and my battery had drained to load zero despite being plugged into the charger. I see reports of this occurring... If anyone has any suggestions, please comment! I was able to plug back in this morning and its currently, but I'm not sure why he would have discharged the battery completely while that plugged. I am with Verizon, and the last Verizon have made in OS: 10.0.9.422

Your old "BOLD" do not recharge an optimal power needed on the Z10. the old charger can provide a lower power compensation charge.

    Use the OEM charger.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery drain with High CPU (v6.0 Bundle 3049) because of the net.rim.io.impl module

    Hello

    .

I have improved my Torch (9800) a week ago and have been noticiing battery drain issues.  The problem is NOT persistent, but is most of the time that goes well.  I am currently on OS v6.0 bundle 3049 (v6.0.0.706, Devils 6.6.0.246).  My Wifi and Bluetooth are always TURNED off.  Only by using the Bell network, for which I have all 5 bars available.

    .

I investigated further and found that the Blackberry system software was running with more than the processor - usually in the 1970s high, 90 same high.  And this corresponded over the hours until the battery was dead.  I have since deleted all the apps I have suspecpected - such as the Office of Nice and LinkedIn.  But the problem persists.

    .

Battery pull was made several times, as I checked and there is no update of the OS.

    .

Now, currently, only the Basic apps are loaded (Alt-Back): home, BBM, phone, Messages, Borwser.  All other applications are closed or exit.

    .

Further study in the modules of the system software of BB, I found that the net_rim_io_impl, is her consuming ALL the CPU.  I don't know where/what this module does - so I'm not clear on this service within the BB I can disable (OFF) to get rid of the issue.

    .

Please see the following screenshots, the CPU for the system a little, drops as Options use a part, otherwise it goes back 90 years, if left alone: -.

And in the system software of BB: -.

    .

Please help and guide, with either a fix to the module, or via a workaround solution, in which some service can be stopped or a setting can be changed to avoid this battery drain.

    .

    Thank you!

I think it could have been resolved in a second thread.

I just got a verizon Blackberry curve is

I do not use my phone cell phone is a lot and my battery down low reall fast

do I need to reason nothing speciall or my battery is bad?

    Thank you

    Alejandro g

I have the 8330 as well through Verizon. I have a certain number of calls per day and run the service e-mail constantly more browse the net, etc.  With Bluetooth off I get usually 24 to 48 hours of use before that I feel a need to charge (1 bar). However, with the Bluetooth on I need to do it in 24 hours.

Also check that the unused applications are closed. Do not know if they would consume power, but who knows. One way to check is ALT then press the exhaust (arrow to the right of the trackball). This will bring up a set of icons indicating the applications or services running. Home, browser, Message, Messenger, and call log are always on. Something else must be closed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery problem

    Hello!

I got a Blackberry Curve 9330 for 6 months now and the battery causes me problems.

About a month ago, the aircraft started to reset each time is received the slightest shock. I looked at the battery, and one of the four metal terminals had some dry on acids. I cleaned and handed over the battery. Today, after sending an SMS, my BB has shown a symbol of a battery with a red top 'X'. I opened the phone and two of the four terminals of phone battery had changed colour, and they were clean. Now, my phone no longer works. It just shows a battery with a red 'X' icon.

Please, help me! I don't want to go back to using my old phone once again!

Hello and welcome to the community!

What you describe resembles moisture intrusion... in which case:

REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM YOUR BB NOW!

Run, don't walk, to this FAQ:

Do what it says, including the maximum recommended wait time. Marketing your BB between her getting wet and do this process reduces the chances of success. In addition, the only predictable thing in the intrusion of moisture in a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some return immediately and be well. I have seen that others do not work. I've seen more a little run and then die later. And every thing in between.

    Good luck!
