BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9930 Software questions

I recently did an update on my phone and now I've lost access to most of my menu. I can always get to my email and I can receive calls, but that's all.  I keep gettig the following errors: eception exception; Application Registry.wait (0x5364ff2940fa3920) timeout and eception exception: java.lang.NullPointer Exception.   Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

I would recommend a software reload.

    I have a Blackberry Bold 9930 and yesterdasy I received a msg saying to upgrade to 7.x software Blackberry. I followed the instructions (takes too long like 2 hours to download) and then. It seems that when you upgrade, the upgrade process goes thru, but stops after the time zone to restore the process and reports an error 602 with a reset button to reset your database. The reset button does not work and I restarted the phone to restore the db. At the moment that it restarts, launched the process, and even once, it failed after the msg indicating time zones (100% and overall restoration treatment 7%). Zones roughly completed, but then I got a msg saying I wandered 602 belive. On all courses was about 5 to 10 percent. Now my phone is undesirable because it does not restart. Verizon says they have a large number of phones across the country, but BlackBerry says it's a matter of Verizon...  Someone at - he already heard of this I am now without such a 4 days while I get a replacement Friday because of the holiday...  I am not very happy as another question, I found - during the upgrade process it used the cells instead of my wirelss home network to download the software and it really took about 2 to 3 hours, then another hour before it failed during the upgrade process. So about. 3 to 4 hours to play with an upgrade yesterday.

    Sorry to hear about the problem you are experiencing during the update!

    But you can still use Desktop Software for the update process, personally, I prefer never to do an Over the Air update. I think that something has gone wrong with the update process and thus you encounter this error 602.

    You have a backup of your device, or using BlackBerry protect for the backup?

    If you wish you can try several method to recover your device of this error, all you need is a PC and an Internet connection active. But attention, this method deletes the data user in this device. This is the Knowledge Base to follow:

    «.. . just received my new BlackBerry Bold 9930 and I love it, this new cell is added my 9650 and so I like too this one breathtaking 9930 the 9650 "out of water"!  However, I like to think I'm skilled at all things BlackBerry, I am having a devil of a time trying to find themes for the 9930.  I searched the site of BlackBerry and have also searched the net for more information, and I've not found anything significant enough to convince me.  In other words, the only thing I found was 9930 wallpaper and which consisted of flags of different countries and a couple of what is appeared-to-be-themes that consisted of a Christmas or some other isolated icon located next to the menu (hmmm, it's really a theme?)!

    The only thing I can think is that themes for the 9930 has just have not been developed yet, am I correct or there at - there some magical path to 9930 themes that I've yet to discover - I appreciate and certainly 'like' any help anyone can provide! »

    You're right, the theme for OS7 development package has not yet been published by RIM.

    However, in the last two days a developers has sorta broken the key... and released some.

    You are in Albania?  BlackBerry Maps should work IF you have the BlackBerry BIS data plan.

    I tried to upgrade my device software Blackberry Bold 9900 version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 but with difficulties. I tried to use the Blackberry Desktop Manager, but there was no version 7.1.0 figure among the available updates. Even when I tried to do it directly through the official website of Blackberry, also Version 7.1.0 was not shown. Finally, I tried to do the update with my phone directly by going to: Options > device > software updates.

    It shows my Version 7.0.0 Bundle 2406 current and available in a version 7.1.0 Bundle 1149. But when I clicked Perform Update to download the new version, he has shown preparing to download but then displays an error message such as "Download cannot continue because your device cannot connect to the update server using the following methods: Wi - Fi.

    During this time, I did not upgrade with a Wi - Fi connection because I have an active blackberry data subscription of 2 GB of my mobile operator.

    The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

    6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

    If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

    If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    OK, I thought that you must have some higher than 7.1.0.342 BONES to get the battery in watch mode on your output device. Apparently Viva has not published a more recent OS you already have.

    Operating system device provided are "released" by specific carriers once that they are certified and trained to their support technicians, but still, you are able to load any carrier the same model by following the instructions below.

    See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

    Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

  • The removal of many Contacts on phones smart blackBerry BOLD 9930

    I deleted ~ 200 old contacts out of 600 + contacts in my Outlook. When I synchronize with my BB Bold 9930 using BB desktop and set sync for contacts to be somehow "Computer to the device" and select "Replace all entries on yor device with the entries on yor computer" the synchronization operation does not remoce the 200 my BB contacts that have been removed from my outlook.

    Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    I wonder if you first remove the list of contacts from the blackberry.  Please backup your data first using the Desktop Manager and install blackberry Protect if you did not before trying this.  the protect link is in my signature.

    There are two lanes and two only, to achieve this.

    Week last Verizon had an interruption in the mail service.  I received a notification on my Blackberry that I needed to check my password.  I tried, but received a message saying setup of e-mail application is not available.  I tried several times since then, nothing helps.  I even tried restarting my phone.  Nothing.  I don't know if it's a Blackberry problem or a problem of Verizon.

    When he gives notice that no updates are available, then within this screen on the left you do not receive the "View Other Version" option? If you hit so that section, it will display all the version of the OS for your device model, choose someone from this list to install it on your device.

    If the above fails, and you are interested in trying to recover your device by your own try these steps:

    (Credit JSanders )

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed. BlackBerry desktop software

    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".

    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".

    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

    NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.  BlackBerry software download site

    Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

    This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

    It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charge battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

    The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. I realize that you have purchased a new battery, but please understand that 'new' and 'well known' are not necessarily the same thing... While it's rare, that a new battery cannot be subject to default. The best thing to do is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... to Exchange batteries and see what happens.

    In addition, the next thing is to try to start safe mode:

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

    Otherwise, your next steps become much more radical.
