  • BlackBerry Smartphones Bluetooth and Caller ID

    Hi all!

New to the forum and there seems to be a lot of information to absorb around here.  I searched for a while, without success, an answer to the following question:

Any BlackBerry smartphones (Bold, Tour, Cure, etc.) send two contact person AND number via bluetooth caller ID info or just the phone number?

I'm playing with a Gigaset One / XLink Bluetooth gateway for home phones and that the number is going on the wireless phone, even if the name is known and displayed on my phone.  The manufacturer said that not all phones will send the name even if it is stored.

So, I'm trying to understand if the BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD" does not send name, gateway does not pass along or cordless phone is not read it.

Any help or information relating to the identification of the appellant via bluetooth would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Well, it seems that only the BlackBerry phones send only the number and not the name when it comes to Bluetooth caller ID information.  Even if you have contacts stored in your phone, and it comes up with a name and a number, only the number will be sent to the Bluetooth device.

I received an email from XLink, indicating as they do know that the MotoRokr and iPhone (no specified people) actually don't send name and number calling info ID via Bluetooth, but BlackBerry does not.  I would check this info before I bet on it if.

So, if you plan to use a Bluetooth compatible device to read or make the ID information calling pass of your BlackBerry terminal (telephone wireless, hands-free system, etc.) certainly has enough space to hold all of your contacts that you will get only the Caller ID names for numbers stored in the terminal.

In addition, you do not want to look for one who can read contacts via Bluetooth from your mobile/smartphone specific rather than spending hours entering all contacts by hand.

My headache started when I bought a Gigaset One / Xlink Cellular Gateway and has not obtained the names of the caller ID on the AT & T wireless phone.  Many cordless phones have only a directory number 50 which is not sufficient.  This phone has replaced by TL92270 of AT & T that indicates it can match and 1500 charge contacts of 4 cell phones (Yes, 6000 in total).  That should be enough... :-)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blocked Facebook application

I bought the Blackberry Torch 9800 in my company. The Facebook application is blocked, a message as follows:

"This application have been blocked by your administrator of business system. Contact your system administrator for more information."

You would be able to help me unlocked so that I can used the Facebook via wifi.

Hello and welcome to the community!

If your BB is still enabled on your business system, you must talk to your BES admins... they apply this block through BES IT policy.

If you want to say that you are separate from your company and no longer use their services, then their BES admins does not correctly clean your device when they gave it to you. In this case, you need this:

You must of course a full backup first, the instructions for which you can find in my auto-sig on this post. But when you restore, make sure you DON'T make a full restore... just do a selective restore of the databases you need (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.), especially avoiding any database that have nothing to with politics COMPUTER, company, etc.. If you do not restore those, you find yourself right back where you are now, because who will dutifully restore politics to the TI back to your BB.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not call numbers from contact list?

Hi, I have a blackberry curve 8350 and for some reason whenever I try to call a number in my contacts list, it indicates the code or number I dialed is incorrect, and please try again.

I know that the number is just because they can call me very well, if I dial the number calling me, but when I try to do from the list of contacts it just won't let me.  Its a problem because I don't remember hundreds if the number I have stored.

I noticed that when my phone is to dial the number, it always puts a sign before the number as his try dialing international or something.  For example I want to call 216-478-9876, but my phone dial + 216-478-9876.

I'm so lost, and any useful information would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Welcome to the Bennie06 forums

I think it has to do with your smart dial settings. In the list of phone go to menu > Options > Smart Dialing. Make sure your country code is + 1 if you are in the USA/Canada. I think it will work. If this isn't the case, post back with the settings were there.

  • BlackBerry smartphones may not call, even texts

    Hey geniuses BlackBerry,.

I scoured the forums and can't seem to find a situation like mine, so that's.  I will try to be as accurate as possible.  I have a 8100 Pearl who is suddenly not spend or receive phone calls.  I did some 'new' things today with him then maybe one of them triggered it.

I tried to connect my Pearl to my computer with a USB cable to access a few pictures on it for the first time today.  I realized that I didn't have a media card, so I thought that I could access it in the Desktop Manager, but unfortunately my computer does not recognize that I had plugged my Pearl.  He did, however, continue to make those computers grateful noises do when a disc is inserted and removed.  The noises that happened over and over again.  Then, the best part: my computer screen went blue and said (I don't remember Word for Word) there was a kind of "software bug" we found who was related to the BlackBerry device and had to do a memory dump.  The computer fine and somehow, nothing is lost.

I only did texts on my phone today so I have no way of knowing if I had the ability to the appellant when I woke up this morning.  I had call capacity last night, however.  A friend tried to call me and texted me that he kept getting an "error message" whenever it did, at the moment, I can still send and receive texts.  When I try to make a call about 2 seconds ago from this light, background noise of static-y connection, then it disconnects; I get no messages telling me that there was an error or anything else.  He ran an analysis of security a few times after that I put the battery and card SIM that doesn't happen when I turn on my phone normally, so I don't know if this is notable or if this happens usually when the card or the battery came out and replaced.

I seem to not have adequate (3 bars), there is no red "SOS" on the screen and the wireless is turned on.  When I got the phone I had the problem with "SOS" signal, but have not had anything since then; It has been a few years since that happened.

I have removed and reinserted my SIM card, removed my battery for 30 seconds and reinserted and tried to go through the menu 'Options' to try to discern if it is not apparent that I turned off or on low (I had no idea what I was doing).  I'm at the point where I am ready to start sacrificing things to the gods of BlackBerry to get my calls abilities restored, so if there is someone who can offer me a solution less violent I would be very happy.  Also, if you have an idea about what happened with my Blue's computer that's cool too, but I'm more concerned about the problem by calling.

    Thank you

    Casey

Hi Casey and welcome to the forums,

Since you have already reset your handset to reinsert the battery.  I would first of all to distinguish whether it's your card SIM or Blackberry problem.

You can put your Blackberry SIM in another phone, for example Nokia, to ensure you can make and receive calls to exclude, it is a card sim or network problem.  If you can not make calls on your Nokia phone, simply contact your carrier to find out why, could be they banned your access or sim error of voice call.

If your sim card is very good, there are two possibilities

    1. If you use your blackberry with BES, your COMPUTER administrator can have banned users to voice calls, check with him or her, or compare it with other users of blackberry with the same strategy (BB, go to > options > security options > and check the name of COMPUTER policy with colleagues who can make calls)

    2. problem with your blackberry software problem, I suggest you to recharge or upgrade your device software.  I noticed that you mentioned that your PC is unable to detect your device properly, please follow this KB to reload the software http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB10144

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Block calls from certain numbers

    Hello

I have this person harassing me and was wondering if there was a way to get all the calls from a blocked number?

    Thank you

Your company might be able to do. I'm not aware of what anyone on a BB that does this... at least not native. You never know what clever 3rd party applications that can be developed in this world! Anyway, here's the official KB in this issue:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones block a phone number

I have a bcurve for blackberry 8300 series. Does anyone know if it is possible to block calls and text from a specific number?

I found one on http://software.blackberrysource.com. It's called BuzzOff and there a free trial of 25 blocks to make sure that it works directly on your phone, and then it's only $4.99 if you decide to do. I also understood how to block SMS. The person was in my address book, so I deleted from my address book and then option - security - fire guard - block SMS - except address book contacts. We'll see how it works. Wish me luck! I was just getting my number changed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones for incoming calls caller ID displaying DO NOT name of contacts (phone number only views)

Whenever I receive an incoming call, the caller ID shows that the phone #, even when I have that number corresponded to a contact.  Since I have not much phone # stored s, I have no idea it's someone I know.  However, the contact name appears in the diary of appeal, but not on the initial display of incoming call.  How can I get caller ID to recognize and display the name of the contact with the phone #? Any help would be greatly appreciated!  (I have the blackberry 8520)

    Thanks, Lauren

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

It could be one of the three solutions... Try these:

    1. make sure that you set your own country code to the Phone Dialer screen > Options > smart dialing.
Set your country code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
    * In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your local area code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

    2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
    * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

    3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
Look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no
