BlackBerry smartphones can not get contacts from the Sim Card.

I just bought a Blackberry Bold 9780 and put my current sim card in it to copy my contacts in. However, this is not the case - that one or two contacts copied when all of my contacts have been permanently recorded on the sim card. My Blackberry bolt ons have not yet been activated (not sure if this is relevant). Would appreciate any help, thank you.

Open your address book > press Menu > SIM Phone Book > press the Menu key again > copy everything to the address book

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get contacts from gmail account * of * BB (OK I think the reverse)

Just got my torch last day... first BB for me. I've enabled IMAP on gmail account and went through routine quick (online) which allows for the BB. I saw that the synchronization of contacts has been checked and when I finished to activate the account on the BB it seemed I could see some sort of sync in progress, BUT it seems he went only one way which is BB FOR online gmail account. Thus, the 300 contacts email on my online gmail account did not go to the TORCH.

These contacts, I can see on my Torch are the 52 I had brought through Outlook a few days earlier using Blackberry Desktop V6 with the torch that is physically connected to the laptop.

I have checked the filters and I see PERSONAL and BUSINESS, and both are disabled.

I don't know if it's related but I think I've noticed in the short time I used the TORCH display new emails from gmail in question account, I would have thought that the sender's e-mail address would have been automatically added to the 52 "existing" BB Contacts, but always just the original 52.

Where these 300 gmail contacts will, if they met, at the TORCH.

    Any ideas?

    Hey Copperbeech,.

I looked into this question for you, currently Gmail contact limits of wireless synchronization and synchronize only the 'My contacts' and does not synchronize the "all Contacts". A possible work around that would be to copy the contacts to "my contacts".

    I hold that this aid.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not move contacts from 9000 to 9800

My old BB 9000, or more likely, DM 6.0 organize my contacts on my old phone hostage!

I had my 9800 yesterday and tried to run the Wizard "device." Everything looks good, no errors, everything works... then I have open Contacts and it is empty. Look at my old camera, everything is still there. Try the synchronization again and again, no luck. Trying to back up "All contacts" on 9000 then just that give back to 9800, does not work.

I think the problem is that on the 9000, I see three "lists of contacts" - two named Desktop and the other with my gmail address. It appears in fact as those associated with the gmail address move okay - except that only one contact is associated with this account! The rest seems to be distributed randomly among the other two inputs of funds.

I have tried everything I can think to manually backup/recover contacts from the old phone, but no matter how I try to sync, I don't the addresses associated with the gmail account or when I restore what seems to be a 'complete' backup all contacts disappear.

A side note, I didn't want/need to keep these contacts separate so if there is a way to merge together to solve as magically I will gladly do - unfortunately entered KB talking about this all reference ridiculously old versions of the software, so I don't know how to do with DM6 and the 9800.

It's ridiculously frustrating. Permutation of devices was such a breeze and a grand more for me in the past, who would have thought that RIM would make it more difficult/worse?

Let me know if I can give you more info!

Well, 3 days it took me to solve this problem, quite poor of general RIM experience - I hope that someone is watching. Here is the solution I found, based on the process here: http://www.berryreview.com/2010/06/03/faq-duplicate-desktop-or-unknown-contact-list-databases-found-...

Original problem - several book entries of "Desktop" addresses on my old phone, which apparently caused problems when you use the DM6 ' device' Wizard.

    Resolution:

    (1) of peripheral origin, take a backup and select only contacts 'Address Book - All.

    (2) Download ABC Amber Blackberry Editor (why I need a 3rd party tool to use my new phone!) as mentioned in the article.

    (3) open the .ipd file that contains the address book - all entries, do a save as and put them in a new file - they are now simply part of the primary address book.

    (4) this is where I spread article above - still, restore that backup on my new phone doesn't work but restore on my OLD phone actually. If that's what I did.

    (5) I reactivated my old phone on BES then used wireless sync to synchronize the address book to the server.

    (6) to the new phone, activate on BES and turn on the wireless sync, and voila, I have my address on my new phone... FINALLY.

The obvious answer here is ' well, if you had the wireless sync works properly in the first place that probably would have been avoided "which is quite true. However, as it is a personal device that I use to work for e-mail only, the camera itself has always been the source of my address information and it sync to my business account has been low on my priority list. I thought that saw DM configured to make weekly backups (which still occur whenever I plug in my phone, regardless of whether or not - a week spent yet another problem with shit DM6) would be sufficient coverage of the information available to me.

I hope someone finds this useful info and should not suffer through 3 days of hair pulling as I did.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get Livestrong on the new phone.

First step: right here go us... go a Pearl of blackberry replacement and want to get the livestrong on this calorie counter.  Already purchased through paypal with my old phone in June.  On my new phone go to My App World, he's not here, there, I'm told to 'log in' and I'll be able to re-download it.  When I try to "log in" to paypal from my app world I get an error message that says: 'impossible to authenticate at this time, please try again later '.  I tried for three days.  I go to my computer, log on to PayPal without problem and see if I bought livestrong in June 09.

Second step: so I don't think, no big deal, I can buy this new... it's only $2.99.  When I try to make I get an error message that says "you already bought this app, go to 'My world' and choose connect from the menu to reconcile your purchase (error id: 20304).»

Third step: of course I do, and the first step happens all over again...

How can I get the livestrong app yet? !!  Help, I used to love my blackberry, but I "lose that Lovin' feeling!

Now, there is a problem with your Paypal account that you not to use it to connect to AppWorld. I understand that you can connect to your Paypal account using a computer, but not enough. You must ensure that each account into your paypal account works fine. For example, if you leave an old credit card that has expired, does not prevent you to use Paypal, but prevent you from connect to AppWorld.

Thank YOU, you were right.  I signed in to Pay - Pal on my computer and discovered that you must add to your mobile phone and then activated.  You go to profile and add/EDIT a phone.  You will need to activate it!  I added my mobile!

After I log into 'my world' and it worked!  God bless you.

Two weeks of the trial, of many phone calls and e-mails to blackberry, verizon, paypal.  And none of them could tell me the answer.    YOU ARE THE GREATEST!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not make calls from the home page or the phone book.

I've had my curve for several months now and the other day, that my most young got a hold of it... I don't know how they do it, but my children can do things with my phone and computers that I did not know they could do... In any case I tried to access my voicemail by organizing the 1 on the homepage and it took me to instead call log, so I tried to make a call from the phone book by selecting the name pressing on do it call button and no as soon as I actually had to go into the call log and manually type the number.

My question is... What did do?  It is very aggravating and I would ask him, but he is two... I know he did not drop it or I would take it to a service provider.  All of the suggestions.

    Thank you

If you go in your call log icon or by phone, click your menu button and go to Options. Then, go to the General Options. See if your the home screen dial is set to Yes.

Also try to reset your device by removing the battery for 1 minute and replacig it to leave the unit restarts. Try it later

Hello, I just got old storm my friend and I can't get rid of her email address! I try to create a new one and it is said that the PIN is already associated with another account. Do I need a new PIN? If so, how do I?

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not see contacts in the address book after you synchronize with PocketMac

Model 8830. Macintosh OS 10.5.8. Latest version of PocketMac SYncManager 1.2 (1.4).

Contacts have been working well. I have sync'd with PocketMac by ticking the peripheral crush, and first of all, I had a lot of duplicate addresses. Second sync seemed to delete ALL my contacts, but by checking the properties of the address book, it shows the 706 entries (twice what a book Mac address

    .)

Nothing not done, I ran twice SyncClean and 'Reset all devices to the first SYnc State'. I have re-started the Mac and Blackberry several times.

    What to do next?

I deleted all my data via the Options > Security Options > then wipe Handheld. Necessary for the re-registration

the BB with the carrier and then by downloading my backed up address book & calendar

Re-creation of speed dials, themes, ringtones, etc., but it cures the problem of address book.

My calendar now has 3 copies of holiday in the United States, but I can live with that.

I find it interesting that nowhere on the site Web Blackberry or PocketMac is there any

clue on how to clean a calendar book or address munged. Maybe the next

BlackBerry Desktop Manager will fix this problem.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get rid of the indicator of electronic mail.

I have an icon of the little envelope on my screen, which indicates that I have an email unread in my Inbox. Great, but the problem is that I don't have the unread emails or sms, and the icon appears continuously.

Could someone tell me how I can remove it please?

    I have a Bold 9650, opus system V6.

    Thank you!

Open the messaging app.  Press the menu button and select "View saved Messages."  Most likely it is there.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get rid of the icon on the bar indication

There is a number 1 followed by what looks like the WiFi icon, except that it is yellow instead of white.

This is a notification of WiFi Hotspot. is there a WiFi Hotspot near you? If you WiFi is turned on and there is one close to you, it will automatically detect and ask your credentials.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not configure e-mail, the option is not available

    Hello

I just bought a new BB9790 and replace the sim card from my old BB9300 inside.

I still have the same provider, vodafone, so everything should work, but it doesn't.

I can't select the option to set up my e-mail account.

After discussing 5 times with vodafone yesterday they me told to contact Blackberry because it's not their problem, everything is configured correctly on their side.

I've tinkered a bit more and discovered that when I take out the sim card, reset the phone, I am able to select the mail account to set up a business account. don't have one so it does not work.

But as soon as I put in my sim card, I can not select the e-mail account.

I connected my BlackBerry ID and tried everything I could find on the internet, but it still does not work.

sending the phone back and get another probably won't solve the problem because it looks like a software issue or registration.

Who has a solution for this?

    Thank you, Monika

    Orange/EE addresses these issues.
You just have not found the right person yet.

Therefore, your BIS account is active. Now you need the service books to allow the configuration of personal messaging. EA can push those for you. Or, you can set up the account yourself at this link

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get appworld on BB Bold AT & T

I can't get appworld on my Blackberry "BOLD", I tried to install via USB and tried the blackberry browser method. I contacted customer support AT & T they told to activate blackberry ot.

I have a BB Bold 9000 with 4.6.0.167 (latest firmware). I meet the requirements for the appworld (I have a trackball).

Whenever I try to download it. It is said that my blackberry is not compatible, even if it meets the requirements.

If you need information more than just ask.

Can someone help me to get appworld on my blackberry?

If you don't have a BIS or BES plan, it won't work - even if you are connected over wi - fi.

I ran the same problem with my "BOLD" on AT & T until I put it in service (I used the SIM card from my iPhone).
