BlackBerry Smartphones can only synchronize only Contacts and calendar?

I wanted to replace my Palm Treo with the new BlackBerry 8310.  With the Palm, I could synchronize my calendar and contacts with Lotus Notes 7 through a 3rd party software without going through courier service.  It does not appear that I can install the BlackBerry software without e-mail service because he was unable to access Lotus Notes data.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help of glasses bifocals!  I used Palm products so far and with this being my first BlackBerry device, I'm a novice user.  Your advice was helpful.  I did download the latest version of the Desktop Manager (4.6).  The LNOptions.dll with the 4.6 ends by works very well.  I found that I needed to open Desktop Manager then plug my 8310.  It's not as long as the phone is connected, I could set up my syncroization correctly.  Strange little sequence there, but you sent me down the correct path.

Thanks again,

Doug

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can't synchronize outlook contacts in BB 8310, or whatever it is on PC

I just 9800 to replace 8310 Curve. I have a new PC/Win 7 job and I have never sync had contacts for the Curve 8310. I tried the "current device - new device' backup and synchronization in DM (v6), did not work. Also tried simple sync, a device path 8310 for outlook and yahoo. And only downloaded 2 contacts and not the other 100.

I look in the sizes of database and it shows that I have 3 lists of address book. I have two and one by default. The default value is all the contacts that I want. However they don't download not my PC or anything either. I need to get them to my new BB 9800.  Of course, they appear on the 8310. Any ideas how my contacts from my old 8310?

And if it is known... is it possible to get downloaded ringtones of the site ATT left for 9800 new 8310.

You can always follow the signs to merge address books.

Or, you can look at your address book > Options. You select a different address book of the three and do a sync again?

  • Ask the synchronization of Contacts and calendar via USB while using VersaMail with Exchange ActiveSync push email

East of the request to add a new feature in VersaMail in a future version. A Palm support Rep suggested I post this here.

I came across Palm Article ID: 42600 which States "once you set up an Exchange ActiveSync account in VersaMail, you will be able to synchronize the calendar, Contacts or by e-mail via the USB HotSync cable. Would be nice if this was not the case when the synchronization of Contacts and calendar are turned off. A call to technical support confirmed there is no way to do it with the current version of the product.

I found a competing product, RoadSync from DataViz allows me to synchronize ONLY e-mail with ActiveSync, so it would appear to be technically possible.  The problem with RoadSync is is not a true push email on the Treo 680 and it seems a bit expensive with less features than VersaMail.

Please consider publishes a new version or a patch to allow synchronization of Contacts and calendar via USB when you use Exchange ActiveSync push email.

I can certainly present this as a feature request.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not synchronize with the USB cable plugged into charge pod

    Hello

I read on the web site of shopblackberry.com, in the details of charge pod ( http://www.shopblackberry.com/_blackberryaccessories/cgi-bin/pd.cgi?frompage=category&page=product_d... ) that the pod can handset with charger travel or data cable for charge and/or sync with a BlackBerry smartphone. So, my question is related on a problem or a misunderstanding of me to this description.

I want to know if we could recharge and synchronize the BlackBerry via USB cable or is only responsible for the BlackBerry when connected that way. My second question is, is it possible to synchronize the BlackBerry with the USB cable plugged into the pod or not?

Because I got a request from one of my users about the fact that his BlackBerry 9000 can not synchronize when it is on his group.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

It's a loading dock. It is useful, because just drag you your "BOLD" in there and it will load (just like the 8300 Curve).
If you want to synchronize, you can plug a usb on the side of the appliance cord. This can be done while the machine is in its dock, where the description.

I have the same crib, but for the 8300. It's really worth buying. I'm happy with it every day.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not remove stubborn contacts on my Blackberry

Hello - I just got a new Blackberry - converted during a Treo (Windows). I had all sorts of difficulties to get my contacts and calendar first moved on my Mac and moves in sync with the Mac issues, so now I'm using Blackberry Desktop on a PC with Outlook. My problem is that I deleted the database of addresses using the backup/restore function so that I could start with a clean address book import, and I have about 20 contacts on my pocket computer that I can't get rid of. I tried the process several times. I can highlight in the address book and select 'Delete', but your handheld will just ignore the command. I can open the contact and modify it, but when I try to save it, I get a message that says "updated to the outside address. Changes will be lost and the viewer will be closed. »

Is it possible to get rid of these addresses? I now duplicates for these addresses, because OUtlook does not recognize that they are already in my pocket.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Only other thing I can think is to wipe the device. If you want to make a backup of your device first, go to the backup and restore | Backup copy. Then, on the device, go to Options | Security options | Settings General, hit the menu button, choose wipe Handheld. This will clear all data from the device. Later, you can return to the backup and restore | Advanced to select certain databases to restore. If you just go in the restoration, and then he would probably bring back corrupted in the AddressBook entries.

  • BlackBerry software melt sync Outlook 2013 Contacts and calendar (installed version)?

With Outlook 2013 (64 bit in any case) Blackberry supports more synchronization with link (apparently and other posts).

I'll buy a passport, if the synchrnoization was incorporated with mixture but not otherwise.

I'm ONLY interested in Contacts and calendar.  I'm a consultant independent and my clients communicate appointments for meetings with Outlook on my PC. I have to be able to synchrnize those with my Smartphone.  I am told, but I have not confirmed that it is possible with a Windows phone.

    Hi @jgrobertson,

@John_Clark is correct, that mixture of BlackBerry allows you to view the data stored on the device using your computer or tablet. It does not support synchronization of data contacts and calendar data. For syncornize these data, you will need to use BlackBerry link for Windows that supports Outlook 2013 64 bit (source).

If you run into issues the first thing I would recommend to ensure that you use the most up to the BlackBerry link version. As long as you are, and a problem occurs always pop by the BlackBerry link discussion Forum and publish a detailed summary of the issue, then you meet the community can help out you! Thank you

  • How can I sync my contacts and calendar to gmail with my microsoft surface?

I read the various forums, which suggests that the only way to do this is in two steps to verify (and a specific application password). I'm not sure what the latest guidance are that I have read the various forums with people with no problems using the most obvious way of the implementation of the account; through the add account wizard.

I managed to configure E-mail synchronization by adding a gmail imap server, but that the surface does not give me the opportunity to also synchronize contacts and calendars - y at - it another way to do this?

I'll use the two-step verification if I have to, but would rather not as I often connect from computers at work (where there is poor signal phone to receive a verification code). If I disabled the two-step verification after you set up the account on my surface I would lose my ability to synchronize, or could I just changed the password of account registered to my regular password?

    Hello again matbence,

Given that Google has ended in favour of the Regional service, Google Calendar and contacts are problematic, with no way to port/synchronization for Surface applications. You could install the app Google Search of the store Windows, which would provide easy access to Gmail, Google Calendar, and 10 other Google apps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can only switch from IMAP to POP on my e-mail address?

    Hello

I was informed by my computer that I need to set up my BB to check email as POP and not IMAP.

I found (in the advanced settings of email configuration page) where it shows the setting as being IMAP, but there is no way to change what I can find.

Please help me solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Chris

Oh I'm sorry... I read your original post too fast... but the concept is the same... it's a function of the name of the server you point BIS who will control if it's POP or IMAP. So, to correct my previous statements, point a POP server instead of the IMAP server. However, if your mail host works both on the same server, I think that BIS defaults to 'best quality' connection finds it - which is IMAP. You have no user-end control during which she will use... you can only control the BIS server name is pointed at... so separate POP and IMAP to separate servers is the recommended method.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I edit my Contact list of my PC?

When I connect my BB 9800 to my laptop I don't see the list of contacts on my BB using Windows Explorer.  I would like to be able to do this because my Contact list only contains phone numbers (a report of my previous cell phone) and I want to add email addresses.  I have a lot of entries to change and it would be difficult with the keys of BB.

If I can't do it while only connected to my BB is there a way I can do a "Contact list" on my PC and then export it to my BB?  Thank you, Peter

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A few things to discuss... so bear with me...

    (1) contrary to others how things, RIM does not provide desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

    (2) RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

So your choice is, IMO, to continue to use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO)... then choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not synchronize Outlook 2007 calendar with Alltel BB 8330

Ok... Looks like a lot of people have this problem. Here is what I have

    Vista Home Basic SP1

Outlook 2007 (as part of Office Enterprise 2007)

    Running OS 4.5.0.127 BB8330

Configured with two accounts-Default calendar/e-mail account is the same account Outlook. (I have Groupwise at work... This isn't the default account/calendar)

    BlackBerry DM 4.5

    Here's what I tried...

Uninstalled and reinstalled many times DM

Install the latest version of DM (4.7)

    Latest device OS (4.5)?

    Delete the Intellisync folder

    Only calendar Sync

    DM running as administrator

Remove all the BB calendar entries associated with the Groupwise e-mail account

Have run scanpst on Outlook and repaired the file (he said he had some problems)

First great Sync worked, the only thing I did between the first and the second synchronization have been changing some recurring calendar events and adds two events to my calendar for the Groupwise account. I deleted since these events Groupwise and calendar don't show any entries when I look under the calendar options.

Now, I get the error "Desktop Manager has stopped working" much-discussed when DM begins to deal with my Outlook calendar. It syncs contacts very well, bed and treats the calendar of the device, then reads 631 records of Outlook calendar, starts processing Outlook calendar files and stops immediately. I have to reboot to get the DM to try to synchronize again. Here is the log of the Intellisync folder...

It's disconcerting. I used a Palm TX for years and was happy to jump into the world of BB. I love the phone, but I bought it mainly to keep track of my schedule. I am not impressed and rest 26 days to test. I hate to take it back to Alltel but its useless unless I can easily and surely to synchronize the calendar. Everyone you have all the answers?

OK... Here's the update. I tried a few things, too many to enter in, and nothing has worked. Finally, I have downlaoded and installed Companionlink Express and... presto! I can sync again. 49.95 for Companionlink software. It looks like the BB people might write (or buy) a decent piece of software. I bought the 8330 mainly to help me cope with my calendar. When this does not work, I got a cell phone for $ 200 million. RIM has almost come back! Furthermore, the site is www.companionlink.com.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I synchronize to a server MS Exchange via the Internet Service of BB?

I am looking to buy a "BOLD" to synchronize my email to work thanks to an MS Exchange Server.  Since it is also a personal phone, my company is going to make me pay the license fee to connect via the BB Enterprise Server.  My question is if the Enterprise Server is the only way to synchronize emails from MS Exchange Server, or can I synchronize my email, contacts, calendar, and tasks using Internet Service, BB?

    Thanks for the help!

You cannot synchronize your emails without Exchange Server.

To synchronize the calendar, contacts and memos, you don't need the Exchange, only with BIS is sufficient.

  • BB 9700 blackBerry smartphones can not see the contact name as sms/mms

Hi, just recently got the bold 9700 and i LUV IT!  Only I have a problem.

I import all my contacts from outlook express and they all come out somehow on my blackberry contacts list.   Problem is that if I get a TEXT from someone, it shows the name of number and no contact even if I already have the contact on my list.  It's just a concern to watch who texts me all the time.  For example, number of friend is stored on my BB as + 1 (123) 456-7891. He sent me a sms/text and it shows it's on + 11234567891.  It's the same number, but my BB cannot identify it as a number of a known contact.  Sometimes, he would show (123) 456-7891. Someone please help me! as I have 100 + contacts and I don't want to set up each each contact on my list depending on how I get their number on my sms.

    You are welcome.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not synchronize correctly after the 4.5 upgrade

I have a Pearl 8100 and just updated to 4.5 v. I didn't know anything about the updates specific to the provider and just updated directly from Blackberry.com. Now when I try to sync (I use Outlook 2003 via Desktop Manager v4.2.0.14) he wants to add all my appointments from Outlook - but they are still on my BB. If I complete the synchronization I have duplicates of EVERYTHING. In addition, most (but not all) of the 'all day' events on my BB became 12:00 A - 11:59 P events instead of just an entry all day at the top of the day. I continue to cancel synchronization, so I can't even imagine what would happen if I'm as much that synchronize my address book.

I looked in my Desktop Manager software update, but I can't back up because I can't synchronize (although I backed up my entire Outlook file, so I guess I have backed up). I also watched by uninstalling v4.5, but indications that I found on one another detachment said to remove the upgrade to add/remove programs and it wasn't there. I know that I'm not an expert in this stuff, but I feel very lame.

I'm also irritated some images that accompanies my Pearl disappeared. I used their background. I read on other assignments that these images are not in the new software - but why they have been removed?

    What should I do?

for images: you can see otherwise: the pictures have never been published except for OS 4.2 and 4.3 of the OS. You can search the Web, maybe someone will be stored somehow in the form of images and not as an application.

on the backup: this has nothing to do with the timing.
a backup is a file that contains all data on your device. It cannot be used at all except for a full restore of the databases. You should be able to make a backup.

for the calendar: are all the events in Outlook? If so, you can delete the calendar on your device database (using the right Fund Manager Panel) and then synchronize Outlook calendar.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not synchronize the new BB with Desktop software

I lost my Blackberry Curve 9300 a few months ago and just recently I replaced it with a used Blackberry Tour 9630. I tried to connect my tour to the desktop software, I had downloaded for my old phone, but it wouldn't sync. So I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Desktop software. Yet, it syncs to the new phone. Or rather, it keeps asking me my old password of curve, but I don't remember what it was!

    Help! Thank you!

So, do not ask for your old device password. His past Tour request. Make sure you have properly entered it. Make sure that you do not you enter the numbers when you entered actually letters. When you type the password on the BB, if you do not hold the alt key you enter letters. Make sure you only enter the same letters in DM when he asks.

It is a common mistake. On the device, you think that you typed 1 2 3 4 but if you do not hold the ALT key, you enter W E R S.

Your phone number for Sprint is probably on your last Bill.

On a personal account of BIS, you simply cannot reconcile the BB to Outlook mail.

You need a BES plan for it.
