BlackBerry Smartphones can with line within the list of Contacts (most of the time)

Hello.

My wife and I have all two storm with Verizon phones and I synced our contacts on two phones using Google Sync all contacts appear to be normal and functional.

On her phone, when I'm inside the contact list and try to call a person from there, the phone screen opens but nothing happens.

All of these steps produce this problem:

-by selecting an entry in the contacts list and pressing the green button

-opening of the contact first, by selecting a number (e.g. Mobile) and then pressing the green button

-opening of the contact, select a number (e.g. Mobile) and using the menu button and "call Mobile".

The only way it works is if I first enter the phone screen and choose the Contacts there - then it works.

No idea what this can be?

We talked to someone from Verizon, and they said that we had to hold the green button or the menu entry "Call Mobile" (etc.) for a period of time - never heard of this before and it didn't work ONCE - while remaining in the store...

On my phone, everything works as you would expect, but I ran an update as soon as I got on the phone, so maybe that's why it works for me.

On the other hand, this update wiped out all the information on my phone, and I had to download and configure everything again and install all the extra stuff from scratch, that's why I didn't run an update on the phone my wife again.

Thus, a question is: if I create a backup with the Desktop Manager and then run an upgrade of the blackberry software, can I restore all settings and other programs downloaded with this backup?

Thank you!

No.... I'm on VZW and their current production OS (. 75) and numbering by any of the ways describe you works very well. Something is wrong with her camera... What is proposed is a refill of OS in an attempt to clear up the problem.

But first... I have to ask, did you do a battery pop reboot? We know that these devices suffer from memory leaks and other, testify to the weird behaviors. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning.

Just a thought...

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not CONNECT to THE SERVER

Hello need help. My Blackberry Curve 8520 (OS 5.0.0.1036) does not connect to the server. It shows my network (Vodafone) and gets a strong signal; makes and receives calls; connect wifi; but it is also completely static. After the first Setup email screen I get: your device has a connection to the server problm.  (I think it means the Blackberry server?)  So I can not connect any email.  Very well in my other near-identical Curve 8520 Sim Card work.  How can I do please?  Y at - it a reset or software update is complete I can undertake? Thank you, Michael

I can help you with the it policy... lack of procedure for access to the BES server, this (and only this) cleanse a BB to an it policy:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

If you do a backup/restore, don't do this basically... rather, backup/restore only the databases specific you need (for example, calendar, contacts, messages, etc.) and more precisely to avoid data bases having something to with COMPUTER policy, business, etc.. If you restore those, the it policy will be conscientiously restored to the device, and you will be right where you are now.

As for a BES Server trying to reach out... There is nothing that I can offer you. Your best bet is to talk to your provider and make sure you have no BES-level service enabled on your account of them. Who should (note 'should'... is there no guarantees) prevent a BES server to reach out and the reactivation of your device.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can help someone identify the symbol icon on 8520

The symbol will appear along the top of the screen, usually to the left of the provider network and the time.  It is a red circle with a diagonal red line at the top left to the bottom right. As a sign "do NOT".  Below the Red are three vertical lines, according to me, yellow, red, green, but it is too small for me to see things clearly.

Anyone knows what the symbol and how to remove or address, that it alerts me?

I can see all the other symbols in messages, requests or elsewhere on the phone.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can not click on the application of the texts, please help... (a description of more inside)

OK, I had my phone for over a month now.  It was perfectly fine.  I had no problem at all.  Today, while I have to send text Messages to friends, I check my phone to try to open the texts that were waiting for me, and it wouldn't let me open the app.  I checked to see if it was the ball, but other applications open except for the yahoo mail app. I can text even if I pick up the phone on the sleep of protection while it vibrates or I can send texts through my contact list, but I still can't look at the texts that are pending.  I now have 10 waiting on me... can someone help me with this...

First download and install from here Office Manager (without Media Manager 5.0 is recommended): https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

Then download and install the software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

You will be able to check the latest version of the OS by going to Options | Everything. The latest version of AT & TBold is 4.6.0.297. So if your version of operating system is less than that, then you'll be upgrading the operating system.

Then try to reload the operating system by connecting the device to your computer, open the Desktop Manager, then go to the Application Loader. This will open a wizard who travels to reload the operating system on your device. More detailed instructions can be found here:

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not connect, reset the password for the update!

forgotten my password.  When I go to the login page, I get my e-mail address, click on 'forgot password' and it comes up with a new page where I get my new email address, and there is a picture of 6 letters/numbers that I'm typing in order to reset my password.  I type in exactly as stated, click on 'submit' and it comes up saying "image does not correspond to" or something like that.    I entered it exactly as shown.  No matter how many times I do it, he only says 'no match' - so, I can not connect, or if I can reset my password.  To make things worse, there is no method communicating with blackberry, or anyone who is competent in order to obtain assistance.

Seems I am dead in the water and locked forever.  It seems that many others have the same problem with no path for resolubion.

You must call Sprint, they are your software first line and the device's hard support channel. If they cannot solve the problem, you must ask them escalate the problem to a support technique level RIM. They will, and if they do not offer to do so, you must request this firmly.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not connect to Exchange hosted for Contacts/calendar with Optus

I just changed from Vodafone to Optus who now looks like a bad move.

I have a hosted exchange account and account with myhosting.com extra blackberry.  I have had my mail, calendar and contacts all sync between my laptop, iPad and Blackberry.

Since the evolution of the Optus, I can only synch emails.  They say that I need BES that will cost me a $49 / month.  I saw also sometimes activation of trade via the device settings on my Torch but which has now disappeared.  I used it to try to activate directly with the blackberry from MyHosting but server who kept not.  I suspect that optus blocks maybe authentication in some way.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

The solution seems to be NOT register with Optus!

Optus will provide the BES if I go with an extra $49 / mth while Vodafone will do it free of charge.

In addition, Optus refuse to honor the 10 days cooling off period because I opened the box and took the phone to make sure that everything works.

I now have a complaint with the Ombudsman of the telecommunications industry.

Interesting to see how many complaints as it is on the page Facebook of Optus, despite the ironic situation where you have to 'Like' to write a complaint!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can does not change the signature block on my internet mail from my Pearl

The signature block on my email says "Sent from my Verizon Wireless Blackberry".  I would like to add my name and email address, but the text is not editable on the Pearl.  Does anyone know how to change this?

Verizon Wireless Customer Service has been able to explain the problem and solve it.  For those interested here it is:

BlackBerry Internet Service provides functionality to auto-connect to new users that does not require a user name and password.

The user must click the settings icon to email on the BB and then click on the link create username.

Once the username is created, you can go to www.blackberry.com/go/vzw and change the signature options.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I add a photo to a contact?

I use Outlook. Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. Curve 8320.

Is it possible to add a photo to a contact for their photo appears on my screen when they call?

Do I need a memory card or a memory card?

Help!  I am a new user (you thought that, huh?).

    Thanks for your help!

The image should be on the device and how you can add it to the entry of the person in your address book and it will appear when they call.

Yes, you need a micro SD (not strictly speaking, but practically) card.  On an 8320, assuming that the OS is 4.3 or higher, you should be able to go up to 8 GB.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not connect to the Mobile network

Hi there, I really hope that someone can help me with this frustrating problem. I have a Verizon Blackberry Curve 8530 I bought on eBay. I have not had any problems to get the phone activated and it worked like a champ. A few days earlier, the battery got very low and my connections disabled. I charged the phone and now it won't let me connect to the mobile network! When I select the option it tries to connect and a red 'X' appears and it does not connect. However, it WILL connect to WiFi. WTF.

    Hello!

    I suggest the following:

    (1) dial * 228 and select Option 1. To make again, and select Option 2.

    (2) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (3) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

Do you have a BlackBerry data Plan on your mobile service provider account? You will need to call your provider and confirm that.

Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
