BlackBerry smartphones does pine bb without data plan? No polls bbm, just the msg of the real axis

I heard that pine bb uses the server of berry to send msg's is faster and more secure. but I had also heard that u don't need to have a data plan, u could still send/recieve pin msg but I tried turned off my data services, but it did not work. so I was just wondering how actually the PIN works.

I know that bbm does not work via wifi, u gotta hv data plan.

and if pin msg need data plan work, then what's the point of hving bbm? It just doesn't do the same thing?

Thank you very much!!!

PIN to pin is on wheels network, so you need a blackberry data plan more coverage network

    Hello

My latest lamp died with a JVM. I just replaced today and I want to retrieve my downloaded applications. After I restored the device of BlackBerry Desktop, any of my downloaded apps are there. I have a brand new 9860, together running 7.1.  I run the App World. He told me to upgrade. When I followed the upgrades of the screen, I get an error message: notice: sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support the BB App World. I have a brand new phone has so first question... I can update App World on Wi - FI. or should I do my first phone company data Plan? I've been running my old phone without data plan but enjoying use BBM and cell phone. Not happy.

Yes, hopefully soon... I know that the right people are aware of the "incorrect" error message

  • BlackBerry Smartphones said I need a data plan for Facebook when I already have a

So I try to login to my Facebook account for the first time on my Bold 9700.  I get the log in page and can't seem to put my login and password.  When I click on connect, I get a message saying that I have a dataplan to make it work.  I have one and it works with everything I've done so far.  Any suggestions?

  • How to do an http Basic by wifi connection just without data plan?

Ok. Here's the situation: I have developed an application that makes a connection http Basic (connector.open (url)). It woks fine on Simulator course since it uses the mds Simulator. I'm targeting os 5 and above. Now I started to test on the actual device (curve 9300). The real problem is how can I go out with just a default connection. I mean a generic that doesn't care what type of transport, the phone has and uses only the default. As you know has 9300 WiFi. So hopefully I should be able to connect using my wifi at home. On the phone, I can establish connection wifi fine. The phone's browser do not allow through well. He complains: (error! wifi detected...) We are not able to authenticate you as you are not currently a Rogers... Please turn off your wifi connection, and launch your browser to try again). Well, if it means that I'm not on Rogers, it is not correct, as my base phone package is with Rogers, the SIM set in the phone. I tried his suggestion and of course, it does not work!

What encourages me that it should work in principle, but I have two phone applications (Opera mini and google map) who are able to go online and make the connection.

I tried to use a combination of parameters attached to the url, as follows:

    1. just by default without any parameter

    2 - deviceside = true

    3 - deviceside = true; = wifi interface

I also experimented with different options on options tcp apn:

    1 disabling APN setting

2-activation parameter APN with internet.com, with comments from user and password

setting of AFN 3 activation internet.com with wapuser1 and wap for the user name and password.

To "manage connections", I have the following question similarly checked:

    -Network mobile Rogers...

    Dlink_RezaNetwork - Wi - Fi...

    -BlueTooth feature is disabled

I wonder out exactly the Mobile network connection? I guess that's my basic phone plan puts online. I will be happy if that's the case for my app by there rather than the wifi connection if that is indeed what Opera mini and google map. But sorry to disappoint you, because even if I disable the first connection (i.e. Mobile network Rogers...) I am still able to use these two apps without problem! It makes me happy because it difinitely says I should be able to go online using only my wifi without data plan!

On connection icons at the top of the phone to the right, I see the following

    Rogers - dlink.RezaNetwork 3 G (icon of the resistance)

    WiFi

As you can see, my phone is connected to the wifi in my house.

Anyway, after all this detail, anyone know if there is a solution to this problem? I mean google map and Opera Mini are able to go online without problem.

In full respect, please don't refer me to read this or that doc I did those before you come and ask questions. But even if there is a doc that you think really go to address above concerns more precisely I'll gladly read

I use eclipse for development and just well on Simulator.

This is the result I get when I run the app through the eclipse on the device:

    (1) for the case when only a Wifi connection is enabled on the device connector.open (url) is called with no additional parameters, I get the error: net.rim.device.internal.io.criticalioexception: required radio isn't avtive.

    (2) for the case with wifi interface parameter defined as follows:

    String connStr = _theUrl + "; interface = wifi. "
    s = (connStr) Connector.open (StreamConnection);
    HttpConnection httpConn s = (HttpConnection);
    InputStream input = s.openInputStream ();

There is no error reported, even though I capture all the exceptions of open(). But the stream returned is always empty!

    Thanks again.

    Just an update:

The problem took over the redirect. It was a subject, I admit, I was quite familiar with. So, once read on responses from http status, the solution was easy. Also is it possible to simply use the wifi connection for http connections in the code. The build in the browser is another story and it depends on how the connection preferences are managed internally by the os and carrier I suppose, but lance in the code browser works very well, with just wifi traffic.

  • Using Palm Pre Plus on Verizon without data plan?

    Hello people,

I'm trying to find out if it is possible to use a Palm Pre Plus on Verizon without data plan.

Right now I have six years old phone clamshell and an iPod touch in my pocket, and I'm looking to consolidate. In addition, locked position of Apple don't gives me the warm shudder blur. WebOS from Palm running on the emulator gives me the warm fuzzies.

Research on the issue with Google, I saw other people ask the question at the time was the Sprint Pre only. Apparently the Sprint did not yet allow activation of the phone without a data plan. In addition, the question of whether the palm profile account can be installed over wifi there.

I also met photos showing that WebOS 1.2 would have a toggle to disable the use of the map data.

So people, you guys what do you think? Is it possible that this is possible? Thank you!

I suggest you look at www.precentral.net work is around like this. It is outside my area of support, but I'm sure you can find what you need there message board.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using Wi - Fi to connect to my email, web browser, the world ap and... Well well... everything? on my 8900

Recently, I bought a Blackberry Curve 8900 with tmobile. Now, here's the thing, I don't have a data plan of any kind with tmobile. Then, when I bought the phone I have insterted my phone and it started. Checked with my seller to make sure he made a phone call... He did it. So I knew for sure my card SIM was working fine...

    Heres where it gets weird...

When I got home, the first thing I did was to connect to my network wireless... using a Wi - Fi connection... obviously. And from there, I went to the Setup Wizard and went through each step. When I got to the part of the Email, he gave me two options, I do not remember the two, but one of them has been "put in place of the emails through blackberry enterprise server"... or something like that. I didn't know that I didn't have a data plan, so I clicked on the second option. I went through the process and EMAIL... by WIFI. I even sent my e-mail messages free to make sure that it worked and have evidence that I received email and Xavier sent to me and others! without a data plan!

It's what I expected... I didn't know this wasn't supposed to happen? and that BlackBerry customers were able to get by email if they have a blackberry data plan?

Well, naturally, I thought that everything else works on a wif... like the iphone connection. Even if you don't have the 3G data plan, you can always access web, email, and aps. Anways Yes, applications communicated with the wifi network and my browser web page views on a wireless network.

Then my myfaves dissapeard and gave a script error or something java coding. Then what should I do? I called tmobile and spend hours of troubleshooting. Finally, I am able to restore or update my OS with a PC and recover my mfaves. But now my world ap ap does not start and tells me that I need a data plan... following its my browser telling me the same thing, but also facebook. I'm like what's happening? And then when I try to set up the email... There is only one option... and that's 'email through blackberry enterprise server installation "...

So my question is... If you take the time to read this... Why in the world any order in collaboration with wi fi and out of nowhere asked me to use a blackberry data service plan?

    daveynielsen wrote:

Because, without THE BlackBerry data Plan, you will be using your WiFi HotSpot browser, and that's all. No email, no features of data application RIM as AppWorld or the BlackBerry Facebook app.

He worked first, because you probably remnant provisioning Service books from the former owner, I suppose (as you mentioned "checked with my salesman).

For me, seems to be suspected of working as.

Not quite, you must always have a data plan for the iPhone.

  • An other 'Wifi without data plan"blackBerry smartphones Question - Rogers Canada

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and blackberries in general... Please bear with me.

I am a student. Currently, I have a voice plan base on a LG Xenon with Rogers in the Canada. It includes minutes and unlimited texting. Enough for me.

I am looking to buy a Blackberry Curve 3 G/9300 off someone. I just want to throw my SIM in there so I can use my normal plan with the phone. My understanding is that I can phone Rogers and tell them to block all data, if I get no charge on my Bill. Fine. However, I also understand that the 9300 is a wi - fi phone.

Let's say that I get the 9300, contact Rogers and tell them to block all data on my plan.
Can I still use my browser in a Wi - Fi hotspot? How should I do? (I know that I read somewhere that you need to configure to be about to access and not talkspot... If someone could help me with this that would be great).

Also, I read that, so that I am still able to use a wi - fi connection, I need to have data 'on' in the phone. If the data is 'on' in the phone, but I've blocked data with Rogers, can I still use a wi - fi connection? This would prevent the costs of data on my Bill?

In addition, I understand that I will not be able to receive multimedia messages without a data plan. Once again, if I'm in a wi - fi hotspot... Can I receive these messages from photos?

I'm sure it's a question very well known and well hated to you all and I'm really sorry to ask, but I just need some clarification. I don't want to be stuck with a big Bill with I ever intend on paying data charges. If someone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you very much!

If you need anything just display it.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new owner without data Plan Questions

This is my first post here, yesterday I received my new BB Curve 8900 from T-Mobile. I spent some time playing with the phone yesterday and of course I have a few questions.

I chose to do not to get the data plan from T-Mobile for two reasons. One, I don't have many friends with BB if I wouldn't get many people to BBM. Second, I don't have much of a need for e-mail and internet while I travel. For me, the cost of the data plan doesn't make sense.

That being said, it is possible to access his mail without the data plan (via wifi)? I know that I can't do 'BB Push' and is not a problem, but on my old phone (Nokia E71) I could just set the phone with my email accounts and access it using the WiFi at school or at home. I was able to get the BB browser to access my home wi - fi so I could go to the Web sites, but no luck with the e-mail. I guess I could use the email by logging in on the site of my school or AOL/GMail.com, but seems very not. Is it possible to do this, or perhaps there is an app that I could use to receive email via Wi - Fi?

I read a lot of posts on here talking about how BB is "paralyzed" without the data plan, but honestly I don't know if a few hundred extra dollars a year is justifiable.

    Thank you!

  • Your device blackBerry smartphones does not satisfy the requirements of the system

Hi, I just bought the curve 3G and I am trying to download app world but I get the message «Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Blackberry App World» I checked and I meet all the requirements. I am from Cyprus, having a service plan with MTN, greater than 4.5 and trackpad software version. Do you know what could be the problem?

A BlackBerry data plan is required to use many features on your BlackBerry.  Basically, without a BlackBerry data plan, just what you can do is to call and send text messages.  Everything else, including BlackBerry Messenger, e-mail, surf the internet, requires additional features of a BlackBery data plan.  The plan that you currently have, even with the internet, is not sufficient on your BlackBerry phone.

Different carriers have different levels of plans so make sure you tell your carrier you want to do on your phone so that the right plan can be proposed to you.

I hope it explains quite well for you.

  • BlackBerry 9700 "bold" blackberry smartphones does not connect to wifi

I have a blackberry bold 9700 and I got it a few days ago and every since then ive been trying to get the wifi working. Phones unlocked by the way.

I implemented the wifi fine but in manage connections, I have my network in green next to my wifi and a white check mark to the right and its supposed to be a checkmark im assuming.

No matter what I do my wifi symbol does not illuminate white his gray yet and I have configured the wifi and it says it's connected but still no wifi.

What settings on my phone or my internet or my phone I do not know now im so confused.

and I have a router linksys and im with rogers and im new to blackberrys.

The white tick means that you are connected to WiFi rotate.

A green check mark indicates that you are connected to the WiFi router AND your BlackBerry BIS data plan. Do you have this data Plan on your mobile service provider account?

If this is not the case, call them and ask.

    Good luck.

If Yes, then may be the unit you have purchased already has some strategies active COMPUTER that aims to prevent these applications or features. To remove all political IT from that device to first make a backup of your Contacts, etc. using BlackBerry Desktop Software.

Once you have your backup refer to this Knowledge Base and reset your device to factory setting:

Reseting your device as it will remove these COMPUTER strategies, but more importantly after a reset while restoring your backup does everything restore, perform a selective restoration which may include Contacts, notes, calendar etc. entries. If you perform a complete restoration then these strategies COMPUTER may return and you will have to repeat the whole process.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones rejecting PIN asking to enter 'blackberry '.

Hi guys... I have a problem on my new (three months) 9000 "BOLD" which is actually a repetition of a similar problem I had on a previous model. One of the children was playing with the phone when it was locked - are not uncommon! When I went to use (by entering the pin code of the telephone (10 attempts) NOT the pin of the sim card it came with the screen "unlock" as normal, then the password entry screen as usual. When I entered the normal phone (unchanged) PIN it came with password enter 7/10 - once again I guessed... youngest daughter was playing with phone... no big deal has three attmepts to enter the PIN code, or so I thought!

Entered the PIN of HABIT to attempy 7 of 10.  But there is no asteriks to match every key stroke according to normal but the corresponding LETTERS of my pine four-digit - try 7 driveway.

Then I do the same thing again... thinking ok I'll use the SHIFT key to get the PIN numbers.

Get the same message "Please enter the balckberry" then enter "blackberry"... get to enter the PIN 8 of 10 cases... Use the SHIFT key to enter my PIN to 4 digits except this time I get NUMBERS not asterisks.

    Again rejected...

Spend the next FOUR hours on the phone for call centers in the country, I heard yet trying to understand people on the other end who had no idea!

Remove the battery e phon while WE... Wait 30 seconds... NO DIFFERENCE

Cut and remove the battery, wait 5 minutes... NO DIFFERENCE and all along the population to support Blackberry say ' sorry we cannot do anything you need a new phone!

You all know the end... Reset phone losing all the data (and of course not recently saved) and start again! Phone becomes perfact... BUT this surely isn't an isolated problem cannot be acceptable...

I understand that people will play with the PIN number is what it is, but surely if you enter the correct one in 10 attempts, you should it be thin and before someone says "if one who has played with it changed the PIN... my question is how can occur without the correct PIN code first?

Would appreciate comments. thoughts. suggestions as is the SECOND Blackberry that's is it.

Thank you all for your contributions...

    Hello

problem is partially make rooms terminology.

The SIM card has a PIN

The Blackberry screen you will be asked for a password.

If ther screen says "password (7/10)" then it asks for the password, not the PIN.

Once you have passed the mark at halfway (5 of 10, or 3 to 5), the unit knows you have issues and will show the letters, rather than the stars.

Now if you still get bad so you think that your typing is not what is the password.

    Its common currency...

Yes, I know that you said that it was not at the ANKLE, but I ASSURE you it was one of two problems:

    (1) your entered the PIN and should have enbtered the password or vice versa - again, watch the display screen)

    (2) If your password is 1234, and you entered it as false, then it is not NEVER 1234, but actually wers ' ' the letters corresponding to the numbers...
