  • BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook icon missing on 8310 with OS 4.5

    Hello

After upgrading to 4.5, some icons were irrelevant and a custom folder was gone, so I started to move. When I started to move the icon of the Facebook app, he disappeared. I have never seen it before. I guess I he accidentally falls into a folder, but it is in any of my files. I selected "show all", but it is not hidden. The app is listed in my applications.

So, I thought that I have just to delete and re-install the application. I did and once again the app shows in my applications, but there is no icon. I see even notifications at the top of my screen indicating that I have new messages on Facebook, but I have no way to open the application.

I've now deleted and reinstalled 3 times but with the same results. I found a message that indicates that there was a problem with the 4.5 OS and the Facebook app and I need a newer version of the application, but the link took me to the same version I have.

Any ideas on how I can get my Facebook back icon?

    Kevin

I see that you did some research yourself congratulations on that.
If I wereyou, I would try two things:
the soft reboot, and if it does not, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can not lose data with these two reboots.

    Soft reboot:
    1) struck the following three keys at the same time:
    -Alt
    -Left shift
    -Remove
    (2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.

    Hard reboot:
    (1) your BlackBerry smart phone is on
    (2) remove the battery and wait a minute
    (3) replace the battery
    (4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

Please tell us if it works for you.

and if it does not, you can change the theme and see if the application is displayed.

  • Bug in blackBerry Smartphones: 9790: Wikitude does not and can not be upgraded

Bug: 9790: Wikitude does not and can not be upgraded

Priority: Low (assuming that no one will use Wikitude now anyway)

    Severity: low

Note: I understand that this is not an application of RIM, but it is an application preinstalled in BlackBerry Bold 9790, so please take care of this. I tried to document the issue as much as possible.

I can not re - test, simply because I don't know how to install the old version. So, these are the steps that I went to join bugs:

    (1) have a 9790 Bold with the BlackBerry OS 7.0 as it was officially sold

    (2) Upgrade Bundle 2466 (7.0.0.609 Platform 9.16.0.77)

    (3) fully upgrade all official software from RIM AppWorld (Protect, Facebook, etc)

    (4) to set the phone to use location services

    (5) launching Wikitude

    YOU CAN SEE:

Wikitude starts and appears the window ' Version is no longer supported. " Please update"and the OK" "button.

    6) click on the OK"" button.

COMMENT: Wikitude closes and opens the browser with the URL:

    http://blackberrydl.Mobilizy.mobi/Wikitude.jad

Two buttons appear: 'Download' and 'Cancel' and box "application Set permissions."

    (7) check them "Set application permissions" box (same end-test result is observed with this box unchecked)

    8) click on the Download"" button.

You can observe: window: "Wikitude: Wikitude GmbH contains a module called Wikitude.» A module with this name already exists in the application "Wikitude". If you continue "Wikitude" will be replaced by Wikitude:Wikitude GmbH. proceed? »

    Buttons 'Yes' and 'No' appears.

    9) click on the Yes"" button.

Observe: Download process begins, download file with a size of 4366 KB

You can observe: after the success of downloading a new window appears with the message 'Error' and 'Ok' and 'Détails' buttons

    10) click on the button "Details".

You can watch: new window with the message "Invalid COD" appears and buttons "OK" and "copy".

    11) click on the OK"" button.

You can observe: the window is closed and "Wikitude" application is not installed.

Thank you! Problem solved. Here's what I did:

    (1) Wikitude uninstalled

    (2) installed from AppWorld Wikitude

    Result: Wikitude runs successfully

(clear the cache of the browser and try to download browser do not work)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook works is not on the Torch 9800

I was using my Facebook application on my device until the week without any problem, until one day he has looked just crash :/ I uninstalled the application with the intention to reinstall to see if that helps, or even to see if an upgrade is available. However, he won't let me not reinstall the app, and when I try to reinstall via my browser, it says that my device does not support! Conclusion the use of Facebook on the browser all the time really slow and boring so really would like help on how to get my app back and working again!

You try to download again from the AppWorld?

Do you have your WiFi connection on when you try to download?

    To do this.

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

Try the download from AppWorld > MyWorld > uninstalled. You see it Facebook?

You've all tired using the BetaZone Blackberry downloads? You can register and download the latest version of the beta that works pretty well.  www.BlackBerry.com/beta

  • BlackBerry Smartphones camera works does not suddenly

    Hi all

I tried to take a picture yesterday to find that when I select the camera on my phone, I have just a white screen and the camera icon is gray shaded and cannot be hired?

I always get the flash and geo tagging icon / scene mode icons and I am able to use them simply not capture icon.

I had a range of different messages arrived saying that another application is using the camera etc and when I select video camera I get the message "the camera is use by another application, cannot start the video camera viewfinder."

I ran the self test (which was a bit pointless) and he has just confirmed that the camera was not working.

I tried to pull the battery with the phone on, but that does not solve anything.

At my phone plugged on charge last night and when I woke up this morning and turned on I checked the camera again and it seems to work!

I could take a picture and then I just got the blank screen again and were not able to make it work again since.

I have not recently added all the apps or made any changes to the phone and it seems to have happened completely at random, as I did nothing extraordinary.

I would really like to solve this problem without having to delete and re install the OS if possible but its is not in good shape.

    BlackBerry Torch 9800

    6.0 bundle 2647 (v6.0.0.600, platform 6.6.0.223)

Look forward to any help that anyone can provide.

Thanks for the tips, but for some reason any 9th / 10th (I lost count) battery pull I've done seems to have done the trick.
Left the battery for an hour and the camera has been authorized since!
Appreciate your response and good advice

BlackBerry Desktop Manager failed to connect with him. How to fix it... Please help me... I have a lot of data in it. In any case, I have to start for once...

  • BlackBerry Smartphones windows 7 does not recognize the device

I was connected my 8330 for a desktop XP for a long time.  The sw of the device is v4.5.0.175.  I recently got a new Lenovo T410 laptop, running Windows 7.  I downloaded the software (version 5.0.1) DM and checked my camera SW is updated, but the laptop is still not recognize that the device is connected (via USB).  I tried all ports USB on the laptop and also followed all the steps detailed in KB13146, with no luck.  I find nothing in any of the forums that refer to Windows 7.  Can anyone help solve this problem?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

In addition, make sure you use only the root USB ports... without hubs (sometimes the front-end ports are hubs... use a rear USB port). And don't forget to try to disable the USB power management in the configuration of your system (Device Manager).

My apologies in advance if this is redundant - there is no way to be sure that if you have already seen and tried these. I can attest that DTM does not indeed a BB under Win7... mine is exactly so.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones my PC does NOT recognize my Blackberry Curve 8330 at all!

I'm at the end of the roll, trying to figure out this question. My Blackberry Curve 8330 just will be not recognized my Vista PC running at all.

    Here's what I know:

-My phone was purchased new may 9. It's the Verizon service, so what matters.

-My phone has a microSD inside memory card.

-(Home and car chargers) USB charge cords work to charge my phone. I see the icon taken directly to the left of the battery and it stays there until I have unplug the unit.

-I tried different USB cords to connect my phone to the PC and nothing works. When I plug in, the phone displays the icon card very briefly and then disappears. Nothing appears in the device for the USB slots Manager, either.

-All USB slots are the same, even those at the back of the computer.

-Other USB devices (iPod, for example) work very well.

-Ce How - to guide: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=BlackBerryDesktopSoftware&thread.id=3...

I uninstalled Desktop Manager and installed the USB/Modem drivers (as it says). Those that I have used is worm. 4.7. still nothing. I restarted the computer and still nothing. This solved nothing. (Even used such 4.5 recommended in this thread, and it does not, either.)

What exactly should I do to get my PC recognise the Blackberry? I can't do some of the things I want to do until this issue is resolved. Because the USB port works to load, then I think that it must be my computer, but where the conflict is and how to fix it, I don't know.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Believe it or not, this problem has been resolved by the simplest of ways - simple up to what I feel embarrassed!

Know how they say when he's broke to book on I have and it works? Well I hate to be energetic on electronics, but I hit just the USB cable in the port of the BB curve. Then it started working like a charm.

All that stress and all I had to do was show some muscle.

After that it would not recognize the device in Windows as a mass storage device. This has been fixed by the backup of the memory card on the PC to save my pictures then insert into the BB and put in shape. At that time I also found instructions online to change the drive letter of the mass of the F: BB storage device a letter less used to resolve a conflict.

My BB Curve is perfect now and all we needed was the strength to fix. Again, I can't wait to beat him and mistreating my electronics but sometimes it works!

In conclusion, please don't make me feel too embarrassed lol.
