  • BlackBerry Smartphones Gmail App not in the Applications folder

Hi, I just got my 8900 yesterday.  To get the full support of the Gmail IMAP, I downloaded the Gmail app from http://m.google.com/mail.  It seems to work perfectly, except for the fact that I don't see anywhere on the app icon in my Applications folder.  The only way I can start using the BlackBerry menu and then select 'Application Switch.'

How can I get it in my folder of Applications so I can put it on my home screen?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

By default, GMail usually goes in the folder downloads rather than in the Applications folder. Once you find it, you should be able to move the icon where you want - just highlight (don't click), then press the BBKey... There should be options 'Move' and 'move to folder '.

  • Security of Smartphones Gmail blackBerry BIS and gmail app

    Hi all

I have a few questions on the application of gmail (probably not in the right place) and using gmail on BIS (native client for bb so).

First of all I would like to know if the data I send bis thru using the configuration of the phone messaging is encrypted to the server, as far as I understand the route is blackberry ==> provider ==> BIS ==> google ==> BIS ==> provider ==> blackberry servers, now are my password and mails encrypted during all this? I mean is all encrypted even after she passed through bis?

Secondly, if anyone knows I would like to know how gmail don't (m.google.com/mail) about encryption enforcement, I see in its parameters always "use secure connection" which should mean its all encrypted according to political right google?

Finally, if I used the gmail (google) app would always need a BIS subscription or just an internet connection would be nice?

I want to know is that mail Blackberry can be a little more uncomfortable for me because of the connection is slow, but I still want to be sure, only I noticed, is that newspapers BIS on my account gmail (pretty normal tho).

I see this has been discussed in the past, but he has never been a definitive answer, and I think (not tried however) this package sniffing brings me one either.

    Thanks in advance

PS: I hope that you will forgive the noobness, relatively new to BlackBerry, and since my carrier offers mobile internet and BIS in separated packages, I am a little lost.

  • BlackBerry smartphones to synchronize gmail calendar on new BB C 9320 via gmail improved for blackberry connection

I already have a gmail desk calendar, but I was not able to sync all the inflow of funds after you have configured the Gmail improved for BB. Only 3 entries on the desktop, I did yesterday registerd on the BB. How to synchronize all the entries on the BB or at least all of the future? I have already many future entries, but they were seized before I got the BB.

If you have a way of asking for gmail instead, please let me know.

    Thank you

    Carine

    Hey carinewood,

To synchronize with a desktop calendar using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, calendar data must be stored locally on the computer in a .pst file and be in a supported e-mail client. The BlackBerry Desktop Software will not synchronize with a web-based calendar. You can see the e-mail programs supported for synchronization in this document under System requirements > desktop e-mail programs. http://bbry.lv/PoxT4B

You can sync a Gmail webmail wireless calendar, but shared calendars will not synchronize. The following article should provide more information and a link to the instructions to enable it. "What is the synchronization of calendar with Gmail?" http://bbry.lv/Hv63Rt

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Amazon app updated for BlackBerry Storm - but can not download...?

Amazon has updated its app for the BlackBerry Storm, but when I try to download it - it tells me there is a problem with the download...?

    http://www.Amazon.com/BB

I checked a bit in this and apparently there are problems with the download link.  Try to download again the link now (on your Storm).  Apparently people had issues, but it seems to work now.  If this does not work, let me know and we can try a few other things.  And just in case, clear your cache browser or do a battery pull before installation to ensure that it's not going to a version cached (and so wrong) of the page.  Also, make sure that your browser ID is set to BlackBerry (and not Internet Explorer or Firefox).

    I hope that helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, why do I need an app for some Web pages?

Please forgive me, because I am a new owner of BB.  I don't understand why I need apps for certain things (Pandora, LogMeIn, etc.).  Here are the sites I want to visit using the browser.  If I was using my computer at home, I would just connect to my Pandora account.  No software has been downloaded (that I remember).  So why can't just visit the Web page of my BB?  I understand if I want to use a real program (Word, Excel, etc.) that the software must be downloaded beforehand, but I only visit a Web page... TIA

But your BlackBerry is not a complete PC, not the same processor fast, etc., and not the same data entry speed, so an application on the device help to 'manage' the spped and debit date on the mobile device by buffereing entry and be simply 'more effective' you can use the device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IM best app for BB communication standard cell phone

    Hello world!

I have the Torch 9800 and use all my text plan on family members and friends from across the Atlantic.  I prefer to use my package data unlimited (the old $30 one) than my text plan.   Anyone has suggestions/input that IM app for BB uses data & also allows the Facebook chat?  Remember that not all people with that I keep in touch can download/use IM apps, so some will respond to me by text message internationally... which means that if it cost me, it will always cost an arm & a leg, and these costs will have a drastic effect on our communication. :-)  Yah, basically so I need something that will not exhaust my package of text, while being affordable for the international recipient.  Make sense?

So if you have a suggestion of app (free or paid), do not hesitate to comment!  THX...

    Hiya!

Well the most obvious choice is BBM (if they have a Blackberry) or by e-mail. Both are strictly data.

Now I just took some AT & T info and found this.

SMS and instant messages sent to the international telephone numbers from the U.S. Bill at a price of $0.25 per message, and are not decremented against package data or messaging package bucket. Messages received from Bill phone numbers international to the domestic BANK or packages.

Now, that being said, I also discovered that AT & T has an international messaging package that provides to clients in the messages of 100 US for $10 per month.

  • Looking for PIM Desktop App for blackBerry Storm smartphones

I'm bored of the PIM desktop Windows interfaced with my Palm. Is there a similar app for the storm? It's very painful to type a lot of data in the storm the device. It would be much easier to be able to use my regular keyboard and monitor.

    Hello

Palm has released a bundle which was at the same time:

    • a desktop PIM
    • a connector between the PIM and the Palm device
    • a backup tool
    • a configuration tool

RIM has just introduced a package that is:

    • a connector between a task FORCE and the Palm device
    • a backup tool
    • a configuration tool

To date, some PIM are compatible:

    • Microsoft Outlook
    • IBM Lotus Notes
    • Google Mail/calendar
    • Yahoo! MAil / calendar

If Palm users think that RIM provides fewer features, it is true, but at the same time, it gives you the opportunity to choose your PIM.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Gmail not gettung Setup / handset not recognized by Google

    Hello

I'm new to BB and just got a second hand Bold 9900, having the idea of Blackberry.

I encountered some problems while creating my Gmail for email account. Would really appriciate if someone could help me with this problem.

My Blackberry ID is connected with my Gmail account. I have install the handset with the BB ID without any problem. (As I know). To configure the functions of e-mail, Bold 9900 automatically recognized my Email and asked to provide the password. I did, but got an error saying (E-mail address or the password is worng, if this error again communicate with Google).

I tried to configure Gmail again and it I got the same error. * (My password is correct because I can connect to gmail from the browser)

Then I tried my Yahoo account. It worked perfectly. No problem at all.

I received an email warning me of an unauthorized access to my Gmail from Google. It seems as if I was trying to log in South Africa. Some how my unit has not recognized when he was, I'm living in Germany however.

In the settings of my location, I have a correct address. My GPS works fine.

I don't understand this problem together. This is why I can not solve.

    * (Since it isn't possible to install Gmail App on the OS 7.1, I don't know how to go further)

    Thank you.

The IP address of South Africa is normal when you use the BIS in Europe. Not to worry it.

As for GMail, I guess you use two-step verification in GMail and you will need to configure a specific to use app password to connect.

  • BlackBerry on 8300 Smartphones Gmail

When I send an email from my gmail account I always get to my Inbox (irritating).  It also goes to the recipient as it should (non-irritating).  It doesn't on my BB email.

My 'e-mail settings' on behalf of gmal are as follows:

    Message services: name @ gmail.com

    Confirm delivery: No.

    Confirm reading: No.

    Read receipts: No.

What else do I need to change to prevent from resend the email to myself?

Are you using the Gmail app or receive your e-mail via the Blackberry Internet Service?

I had the same issue as you describe before I downloaded and started using the Gmail app. If you use Gmail, sending mail from the device itself or from your online account will appear in your Inbox you have described (at least it isn't on mine). As a bonus, the app is much better html rendering and overall, just presents a much cleaner experience for viewing your mail.

You can get the app by going to google.com on your device by clicking on 'More' and then scrolling to "Gmail (download).

    Hope that helps.
