  I saw where Rogers Wireless released the software update for BB "BOLD", which is great, even if it takes a minor fix to make it work with users non-Rogers.  Are there not a similar version of RIM/Blackberry?  I found it difficult to find information on upgrading my Blackberry OS/firmware even through the Blackberry site.  Where is the place to go for updates and notifications of updates and how to apply them?

  OK, in this case, follow these steps:

  Go to http://bbsak.org and download the program called BBSAK you're your computer and install it. Then plug in your BlackBerry and open BBSAK. Enter your password when prompted (if you do not have a password on your BlackBerry, simply press OK). When the program opens, you should see your device PIN in BBSAK. Press the button of the device wipe. He will wipe away the OS of your phone. You can then reinstall the operating system.

  Be aware, this will delete all the info on your device, in order to ensure that you have backed up your phone first (if you could).

  I downloaded the desktop WITH the Media Manager 4.7 version. (excerpt from the AT & T site, my service provider) I tried to do the automatic update directly from the Blackberry http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/devices/ site.  The application loader started, he went to the test. Then the message says that I have the current version. (4.2) I also went to the AT & T website and downloaded 4.5 since the 8310/8320 to see if it works that way.  AT & T not to post 4.5 as a choice for the 8300. Any ideas would be most appreciated!

  Should I give up on Roxio software and rely solely on the method of mass storage to transfer media files?

  I reinstalled several times the software, but whenever I try to use the Roxio Media Manager on my PC max CPU usage of on 100% and dies. Once, he worked - and as posted here by someone else, it seem very good - but each others times it just hangs.

  After reading now widely through this site and several others, it seems there are serious issues with Roxio. So my question for those of you with BB9000 more time under your belt: do I persevere with Roxio or give up and just rely on mass storage? It looks not pretty, but I moved ringtones, video and photographs around smoothly.

  Am I losing on the compression features in Roxio which I don't get mass storage? If this isn't the case, then my inclination is going to be drop Roxio and stick with mass memory until they fix the bugs or I see on this site a better way.

  Thanks to bifocals. I used the MediaSync before and Yes you are right, this works very well for the music. I was hoping to use the Roxio to transfer (and compression) files of images, photos digital high resolution of small files just for occasional display on the BlackBerry. Œuvres drag / move, but I cannot copy a lot of pictures. Not sure if it is a compression problem or if I just need a bigger memory card? I'll keep experimenting. I hope BB/Roxio will receive enough complaints sort...

The reason why I ask, it is that there are many problems with sync services (not reliable etc.). PocketMac tell, when it sync with Entourage I think around sync services goes directly to the Entourage. Missing Sync for BlackBerry uses sync services where syncs Entourage to synchronize services and it does not really (quite messy).

  I'm new to blackberry and want to make sure that my employer has not installed spyware on my device. From my reading, you can look for signs such as spikes in data transfers when you are not using the phone, this sorta thing. I want to be absolutely positive there is no spy software installed, and so what I think, is that in a week or two, I would like to do a re-installation of the blackberry OS system software. I'm on a mac, and I know that I can pick up the phone an AT & T store and they could do the reinstall for me.

  If I had to, I would also reinstall all the applications I downloaded? And below this method, any spyware detection software that I could use to avoid having to take these measures? Thank you.

  I have a working Bold 9700 and it is connected to the corporate network. It has been implemented by our IT Department. I was delivered he no charger so use a lead to my laptop.   Is this a problem of encryption defined by my employer that we have very high standards of security, or is it a Mac problem or what? The main problem for me is to recover the password keeper and GPS software.

  I sorted this out after reading the forum. I decided the STINKS device Mac Manager and so borrowed a PC. The Manager of OS and devices, and that allowed me to reinstall all applications downloaded. All works now. Always on my Mac it does not correctly connect updates.

  Error 507 means simply that the operating system is not present on the device.

  Plug your 8900 to the USB cable and launch Desktop Manager > application again loader. He must recoognize the device, connect it and the installation process.
