  I'm new to Blackberry, so forgive my ignorance...

  I saw where Rogers Wireless released the software update for BB "BOLD", which is great, even if it takes a minor fix to make it work with users non-Rogers.  Are there not a similar version of RIM/Blackberry?  I found it difficult to find information on upgrading my Blackberry OS/firmware even through the Blackberry site.  Where is the place to go for updates and notifications of updates and how to apply them?

• BlackBerry Smartphones New Phone / missing software?

  I don't have a Set Up e-mail icon in the Setup Wizard, because it shows in the manual and on the CD. I have not put upward the Wi-Fi and Set Up Bluetooth. I can click on game Wizard and open the menu to access the Configuration of e-mail.

  Once there, I have only one option: I want to use an e-mail account to work with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

  The manual and the disk that came with the phone show that there should be two options? Of course, I want one that is not available. This is a whole new 8350i. I did something wrong?

  This is my first post on a forum, so please, be gentle.

  I have a Blackberry Curve 8530.  Several months earlier, during a daily use, the screen would go black all of a sudden.  A battery pull would solve this problem for a while.  Finally, it has become more common.  Symptoms have changed (it seems that if I put the phone down too quickly it would reset), the phone turn on, then immediately go to a white screen where everything was undetectable by my computer.  I contacted my service provider and they said the phone was toast and (surprisingly) gave me a free ready to use for the duration of my contract (all information transferred via an old backup, so nothing has been lost) after that my new phone work I left my curve is connected to my office.  Yesterday as I was leaving I watched again once the phone, and the screen was white and telling me to reload software 507.  I plugged my computer to start the process and to my surprise, the computer has detected all of a sudden the phone and successfully upgraded the software.  Everything was beautiful, I exceeded the password stage and he would just start to recharge my information when the screen faded empty again.  I always free loan phone, so it's not a big deal, but it's so annoying as to what could be the problem.  Now the computer can detect is more the phone again.

• BlackBerry smartphone App Error 523 for reload software 507 on 8350i

  OK, I was looking for the forums and try the suggestions and I didn't chance... what I did my problem is compounded.

  One of my drivers brought me a phone this morning that says "App error 523" it is unclear what he does for her, I have recognized this fact and knew what he had to do... JL_Cmder wipe and reload the software. I saw something on the execution of an order on JL_Cmder but I can't figure out how, I clicked on #6 use order online because I thought that was that, but it came with a Notepad and I don't know what to do with it. Can someone help me please?

  OK, so it turned out to be the fault of fund managers... as soon as I uninstalled and reinstalled, I plugged the phone on him and he immediately offered to give me the software, I just reinstalled the operating system without a hitch. All phones are now detected and connected when plugged into my computer once again, although I spent a whole day of work aggravated that at least now I know for future reference when the Office Manager has another update.   I was ready to delete the persistent data of the simlulator 9550, OS 5.0 in order to achieve this, I clicked clean.bat file in the Eclipse1.3 silulator folder.

  But this file has removed the simlulator OS... Now, when I try to run the application for debugging, I get the error

  "Reload software: 507.

  Please let me know how to reload the software to the default location of eclipse.

  Veuileez guide to the procedure to remove the persistent data of the Simulator also.

  I connected my 8310 to my PC using BB Desktop Manager via a USB port and I was told there was new software for my device available for download.   What I was doing to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before and it printed.

  If your device does not work, perform a backup now if you have not already done save the file to a place and a name that you can easily locate it on computer.

  I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all the other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer, thus eliminating the operating system for the BB to the computer in order to ensure that the version I want to reinstall a new version uploaded.

  If the PC does not recognize the BB, you connect via the USB cable. Then remove the battery from the BB.
  With the battery pulled, connect the BlackBerry to the USB connector, and as SOON as you see USB - PIN: UNKNOWN, click Next. You must be quick. From there, you can put the battery in (make sure that you install the battery or else when completed the update of the OS and the device disconnects from the computer to restart, it will lose the power supplied by the USB connection and you will get an error and have to start all over again!).

  If you don't get it right the first time, try again (debrancher unplug the USB, remove battery, connect and click next while USB - PIN: unknown shows). You must be quick and the timing is key, so it may take you three or four attempts.

  To erase all data on your BlackBerry device, follow these steps.

  (1) download JL_Cmder http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html

  (2) install JL_Cmder to the computer.

  (3) double check you have already saved the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose all data.

  (4) make sure that DTS is closed and plug in the BB to the computer via USB

  (5) to reach the JL_Cmder on your computer and double-click it to start. Now, it may take a few tries to connect, so persevering until he does.

  (6) on the first screen, press a key to continue.

  (7) now, if your device uses a password, enter it now. If not, press "N".

  Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functional BB!

I swapped my old BlackBerry to a new curve 9320/7.1.0.398 (B1319) basically, I live in the Philippines and my carrier is Globe telecom. And for some reason, my battery does not work to my expectation, I need to load 2 - 3 times a day even though I'm not a heavy user. I get 3 emails per day, no call, I have BBM, I receive text messages but I don't answer, I have facebook but not twitter, I play from time to time the music and SURFs the internet. but it goes too fast for me. It is the only small curve battery? < br > < br > I got all my settings tweaked, together the brightness up to 10%, 10seconds backlight time, battery-saving mode is ON, delete all my apps removed third-party social feeds also, my network is 2 g, removal of updates on my BBM, off GPS, past before bedside mode that I sleep and I always make sure that no other applications running in the background to name a few! Believe me, I did save all tricks I could stack, but nothing seems to work. < br > < br > I regularly check my CPU usage, but no application seems to run in the background, even did some research on how to properly load a Li-ion battery, but my battery drain is still at 11-12%/hr. What should I do?

  You can still downgrade the OS to what you had before... but you didn't state what kind 83xx curve you. Look at the Options > subject, what model?

  What is your operating system loaded on your device? Look at the Options > about third down line starting with a "v.5.0.x.xxx", what is yours?

  My software updated this August Office. (I got my Bold 9650 Verizon since May with no problems of synchronization so far. I have outlook 2007).

  I can't synchronize my outlook and "BOLD" now. He did an update today which brings him up to the OS 6, I think. I went to the Organizer page and you click on configure settings.   Hey GMAN58,.148 won't work on their phone because it's the 9500, not the 9530.

  Whits, this is a known bug with this operating system, but this is a temporary solution (until the Vodafone UK updated again)-add a password to your device, and then when low buttons affected, will not unlock the phone.  It will unlock only when you put your password.  If you make your password quick and easy to enter, this should not create too many problems (and it will give the added advantage of not giving friends access to your phone when you do not want that they can access).

I couldn't find the "East Asian character and Suppor of fonts that I used to add to my previous bold 9700.  Help, please.
