BlackBerry smartphones I just got my phone and I am very confused

I'm normally pretty good art to find this kind of things out, but this phone left me speechless.  When I go to the manual and find the instructions to know how to hide my phone number, he said:

  1. In the phone, press the Menu key.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on General Options.
  4. Set the field to restrict my identity on always.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Click Save.

OK, is there something special to be in the phone?  If I press the Menu key when they phone is on, I get to hide or show the icon thingy.  If I click on options, there is no general options category.  I don't know that I am doing something totally wrong here.

The second question I have is, how can I enter a * before a number to call.  I found the code for a break, but I can't understand how to enter the * and I can't find anything in the documentation or the other.

Hello

The key is "into the phone.

It means to go to the dialing screen.

  1. In the phone, press the Menu key.  (Green press to make you phone)
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on General Options.
  4. Set the field to restrict my identity on always.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Click Save.

You can add the * in the phone number. It is a numeric field if you do not have to use the ALT key.

If you need more information, please ask!

If this isn't the case, please adjust the position using the kudo boot options.

Just check the post who have had your answer!

Thank you

  • BlackBerry smartphones I just got my new Motorola Droid 2

I thought I'd share my feelings on the Blackberry storm and what RIM did that was really bad.

1 RIM abandoned the excitement about the storm very quickly, so that the successive versions were actually worse. I went for more than a year with:

    a. bad phone calls (I had to put in speaker mode to receive calls from phone to work). The Droid 2 is clear.

    b. the screen click statement so much better on the droid just to have a vibrarion minute when you click a button on the screen. Works just as well.

    c. the Blackberry is slow on just about everything and is broken just about anywhere. I get my screen in a mode where I press a keyboard and a button on the opposite side of the screen lights up as if I pressed on y. I don't have these problems with my new droid.

    d. the blackberry only gives you quick access to material internal. I understand the security concepts but droid can do and maintain security.

    2. the differences between the blackberry and the droid 2 are just night and day. I am surprised every time function and response. The droid 2 just leave the blackberry storm in the dust. If I didn't know any better, I would say that Blackberry is out of the phone business. They might as well give up now.

    3. I suggest that RIM or leverage in QNX (which is a very nice RTOS), or implement an android phone that is clean and add to the cool, rather than harm to this.

Good luck and I'm disappointed, but I gave Blackberry a fair shake. They just don't cut.

I am a developer too and I reached a relatively high level in the developer for blackberry forum.

    I develop for android now.

    I had a storm 1.

    I kept the software updated.

I'm a software engineer, so he was not a user error.

The droid 2 is about the same size as the blackberry storm, so the comment about 2 x 4 is . The droid is very nice to use as a phone... and I could hear a pin drop. The speaker is also very good.

My comments are not opinion. They are done. I have described specific things that happened with my phone. I don't see how the Storm 2 would be different. That he could call ability (note that I couldn't keep my storm in my ear that I had to make a decent call in speakerphone mode). It could also have the location of the most reliable touchscreen. However, it would still have other issues. And blackberry connect this droid 2. User experience everything is so nice and so natural to feel that I am very surprised. I was expecting it to be different, but not that good. It really is like night and day. If you have not used a droid. Find a friend with one and ask to swap the phones for a day or to spend an hour with her. It will blow you away. It's so nice.

Yes, these discussions can be like religions. I agree with that, but I've always been a fan of blackberry. I gave him a fair shot. I'm afraid that's not a fair opinion. My droid 2 is VASTLY superior to my blackberry storm... This isn't a fair opinion.

Finally, I acknowledge that by limiting the use, the blackberry is a tad safer, and the android OS is open to virus and security issues. However, if you buy a specific device with a certified operating system, do not install an application not certified, you will be safe. Yes, it is possible for someone to write an application that is not secure for the droid and to sell or to give it for free through an unusual channel, but this is a user error. A talented person could do the same for the blackberry. I could do this using assembler arm and points in the start-up code for an application. I have to waste his time to understand the appropriate addresses, but thanks to the knowledge of the means chip I could do if I wanted to waste a lot of time. It is I don't have time to lose... Then the verdict here is that security is really up to the habits of the user. It is easier to hit a virus by mistake on a droid on a blackberry, but it's pretty rare... rare enough to not make a difference for me. Now for applications sensitive military and policies (such as the phones of the President), then it makes more sense to use a blackberry.

    Peace

This is a complete scam and one that has become very common these days. . Don't think anything such a caller said, do nothing that he tells you to do and hang up on him immediately.

At let them into your computer? If you did you are at serious risk for what they could have done it (installed spyware? Identity theft? Steal the passwords?), and I highly recommend that you do the two following:

    1 reinstall Windows properly

    2. change all your passwords, especially those of the financial institutions and online stores.

  • I just got a phone call from a man claiming to be a tech windows

I just got a phone call from a man claiming to be a tech of windows. He told me that he had to call me because of the high number of junk that has been downloaded and my windows updates. Is this for real?

    Hello Angiee57,

As usual, this is another scam.

Unless you have a support contract prepaid or you raise a support ticket with Microsoft, no Microsoft will call you about the problems with your PC.

All these crooks are trying to do is access your PC so they can steal your personal data, which is bank details etc. Under no circumstances should allow you remote access to your PC.

Original title: "I JUST HAD a CALL BY a GENTLEMAN WHO LOOKED THE ACCOUNT THEN TYPE ' EVENT .

I just got a phone call from a company stating that they were working on behalf of Windows he asked me to turn on then press control and 'R' together - when the dialog box open to type in "EVENTS", I put the phone down - I don't want to be rude, but is this real society - I was unable to call the John company

    Hello John

Without that society is not authentic. It's all part of a scam to gain access to your pc and steal your personal data.

Unless you have a pre-paid with Microsoft, support contract they (Microsoft) will never contact you for problems on your PC.

You did the right thing by hanging up on them. If that happens again, just ignore them.

  • I just got a phone call (no number came as international) to say that Microsoft

I just got a phone call (no number came came as international) claiming to be from Microsoft and Muicrosoft are aware that my PC has programs that can cause my PC unwanted crash. They then asked me to turn on my pc while they could repair. This looks like a scam to me. Has anyone else had this type of call. I asked a lot of questions and the appellant was very vauge but insisting my PC was going to crash. The appellant gave me a number of 1786 6001340 I asked the appellant to put all this information in an e-mail message, which he said he would. We'll see if it happens. I think it is yet another scam that other users take note.

It is a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment. See:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/msname.aspx .

Microsoft does ever not requested for calls.

No need to shout (all capital letters.)  Most modern publications using a mixture of standard uppercase and lowercase lettering unless they're trying to focus on something specific just because it is easier to read.

You don't reach Microsoft on this issue.  It's not their problem more someone is trying to rip you off on your money is the people who printed his problem or someone trying to rip you off your car comes to the car manufacturer.  You communicate with the authorities (who will probably tell you that they can do anything with what you little information.)

As long as you don't give them access to your computer, you're probably fine.

If you gave any personal information or leave them on your computer - to worry.
