BlackBerry Smartphones IMAP such as email

Hello

I've recently switched to BlackBerry.  I am currently using a BlackBerry Curve 8330.  I would like the possibility that once the messages are marked as read on my computer, or on the BlackBerry, they are marked as read on both devices.

Thank you

CL

That's how BIS reconciliation works:

Hello and welcome to the community!

If it's for BES, then stop now and seek assistance from your BES admins.

But if it's for BIS-based email, so with a strong carrier network signal (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • Pre-BB10 ONLY devices. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Note:

Some wireless service providers and third-party equipment manufacturers have processes called master reset, factory resetor master clear, which erases all the data and parameters for devices user non-BlackBerry carriers, restoring their to a 'factory' or 'out of box' State. The clear Pocket command performs this function even on a BlackBerry smartphone:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones problem setting up email

Hello everyone, I reccently purchased a vodafone bb 8900 to my friend, I unblocked him today and I am currently using a 02 sim card. My companion had set up on the phone but deleted emails before you send the phone.

My problem is when I try to configure my emails I go to Settings / Setup Wizard / Configuration of email, there is no option to create or add an email account. Only the possibility of using a professional email with an Enterprise Server account. And there is no shortcut to the e-mail settings in the setup folder.

does anyone know how to configure my e-mail from here?

PS This is my first blackberry and I am a complete novice with this stuff so if you can keep things simple, it would be greatly appreciated thank you Ryan

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not receive emails!

My blackberry has stopped receiving my emails to gmail.  My carrier is T-Mobile.  I did this thing Service books to return several times, but don't know what it is? I send Service books but so what? I'm not clear on the process of the SB.

I have also made many battery grips, no luck.

I turned off my connections, turns them off the phone completely for a few hours and then, still nothing.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you!

Finally a solution that worked! T-Mobile and the customer service unfortunately were not able to help, but research in Motion (RIM) my phone manufacturer has solved the problem of e-mail! Apparently, the old version of facebook causes conflicts with the receipt of emails.  You need to go into your Options, Options, advanced, then Applications, then click on Facebook.  Click the menu button, then select modules then scroll down your list until you see "net_rim_bb_facebook".  Beside that, you can see the version number.  You must have version 1.2.0.35

If you have an earlier version, delete Facebook.  When you remove it, you will be asked to reboot your phone.  When you restart, the facebook icon will be the "desktop" of your phone.  Click on it, and it will take you to the site, so you can download the new version.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IMAP emails disappear

I set up an e-mail account using IMAP and I have * some * emails that come in the hub and then disappear after a few minutes.  If I update the account, e-mail will be back for a few minutes and the cycle continues.

I can't understand why mails disappear. I installed other applications such as Bluemail and Outlook email client and they do not have this problem. Of course, my passport doesn't have this problem as well.

As a solution, I went to POP3 for the moment and his work, but I'd really like to run IMAP.

Any ideas? I've seen a few threads on emails that disappears, but they are not the same. In my case, they have emails coming back whenever I update.

    Thank you

    Steve

Thanks for sharing in this @1dsa

I checked with our senior technicians and can confirm it is a known problem for some customers, and it will be addressed in a future update. I asked to be informed of this so I can let you know.

For now, but you'll have to stay on POP3, sorry!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IMAP like iPhone or Android

    Hello

I am new user of BB and have a very simple question:

I have are the only user of the Imap among millions of BB users?

    I explain my complaint:

    iPhone, Android, Windows...

In fact, in every Smartphone OS on the world (iPhone, Androis, windows...) the imap e-mail system is very simply.

    (1) set up your imap e-mail

    (2) you receive the list of ALL YOUR EMAILS instantly and you can walk down and find old emails.

    (3) you are very thirsty you can recover an old email very easily, give an answer to the client, everyone is satisfied.

    (4) you win credibility and you win possible that other guests cause a good service.

    BlackBerry OS 6

    (1) set up your imap/pop e-mail (no difference to BIS)

    (2) you will receive new emails (the old is not recognized)

    (3) you are not thirsty you cannot recover an old email very easily, can not give an answer to a customer, must find a computer, CCADE with webmail (if there)

    (4) you have lost a customer, you have lost money

I hate the iPhone (cause their religious followers who are extremely blinded by the marketing of Steeve) but their iphone works well. I love Android, but their hardware design are cheap. I turned now to the Blackberry, smart design, works about well, I also have a Playbook that works well and in general, the Blackberry products are very good.

But now I have this problem. I am very disappointed.

Can someone give me again the smile? or is definitely imap a very low part of the BB OS 6 system?

    Thank you!

This is correct, only new emails are pushed to the device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IMAP - No support? Help, please.

Yesterday, I became an AT & T customer and bought a "BOLD".

I really love the phone, but unfortunately, I have a major problem with it.  I can't IMAP works correctly.  I have two IMAP accounts; one is Gmail, the other is a private account with my host.

I configured both correctly (such as IMAP, pop3 no).  I followed the instructions on the Google site with care.  I searched the web and these forums and found hundreds of messages describing this problem, but not a SINGLE response.

The problem is, to reiterate: IMAP is down.  When I receive an email on an IMAP account, it is pushed to my BB.  That's great.  If I read or delete it on my BB, it is adjusted correctly on the server.  However, if I read or delete this email on the server (via webmail or any other application functional IMAP), it remains unchanged on the BB.  Yes, I checked all the settings of 'reconciliation '.  'Removal of reconciliation', and al.  This box is absolutely worthless...  I thought at the beginning, maybe it was just questionable Gmail IMAP implementation, but my host IMAP server works the same way, so it's too.

I installed the Google Gmail app, and even if it is very nice, there is some delay extreme in the update of the mailbox (like + 20 minutes), and by itself, it does not provide the notification icon of e-mail as the BIS email application is integrated at the top of the screen.  In addition to compounding this question is that if I go into the Gmail app and delete the new email, email REST still in the standard e-mail BB for this account folder.  In other words, don't always no IMAP synchronization removal.

Bottom line is, it would seem that the timing of deletion (and read) with IMAP is one-way only: from BB to a server; but ever since the BB server.

What I need to know is the following:

    (1) is there a way to make it work?

    (2) otherwise, this will to work correctly in the next few months?

Should if the answer is no, then which option I return the phone and get a well designed?  I don't understand how the so-called top phone for e-mail cannot do something as simple as good IMAP synchronization.  MANY people use the IMAP protocol now are not corporate/exchange users.

Any help/ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

    (1) BIS service supports only a way of reconciliation. The device can delete the messages in the Inbox of the account, but the reverse is not supported. Gmail does not support wireless read and unread status, unlike Yahoo, AOL. Hotmail and Ms OWA accounts.

I assume you mean the gmobilesnyc app. You have an option of the application to turn the notifications so it will inform

you when it arrives. (According to Google discussion site) With regard to the duration (20 +) minutes of update that is

between the application mobile and Gmail. BlackBerry supports the soft, but gmobile is actually the front end fot traffic.

Once again BIS does not support two way deletion and Gmail does not read and unread status.

Bottom line is, it would seem that the timing of deletion (and read) with IMAP is one-way only: from BB to a server; but ever since the BB server.

Yes as he covered the other two statements. BIS, does not delete in two ways. Gmail does not allow the State read / unread.

What I need to know is the following:

    (1) is there a way to make it work?

    (2) otherwise, this will to work correctly in the next few months?

Google is just now with the possibility to synchronize the calendar and contacts as well.

In regards awaits BIS make one major technical change and system there revamping of Google on the Tower

a dime are highly unrealistic and frankly short sighted. As a business person yourself you already seeing two

large companies are a radical change in a month? The possibility isn't even a valid consideration.

Should if the answer is no, then which option I return the phone and get a well designed?  I don't understand how the so-called top phone for e-mail cannot do something so simple as the IMAP synchronization is assured.  MANY people use the IMAP protocol now are not corporate/exchange users.

I wish you could be a BlackBerry customer, but if the technology on BOTH sides of equations does not correspond to your

cooperation needs that I guess you have to make a major decision. and implement it in a month.

I sincerely hope that the 'grass is greener on the other side of the fence", but I sincerely doubt it.

BB10 models the client polls for email on POP3 server at an interval that you select.  When the mail client is e-mail it downloads it not the device.   In function, you can set a time interval (30 minutes or an hour) and then manually refresh if you happen to check at any time between the two.   You can define short intervals, if you want and see what it does to the battery life.

On models BBOS (with BIS such as described above), the BIS server made the polling stations, and it pushes email to the handset.  The polling interval depends on, if the BIS is to find send it to the server every time that he asks, so they tend to ask more frequently.  If there are no e-mail, he returned to the default which is something like 15 minutes.   Some accounts are pushed from email arrives, for example say Live or Outlook.com.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IMAP BB IP address access Gmail account when BB turns off

    Hi all

New to the forum so if I during the stage, the mark please let me know!

I have a 9790 "BOLD" from BB. Every night I have disable all connections (broadband, network, bluetooth, NFC) and turn off my phone.  I have my phone also locked so no one can use it without my password. There, a bit OTT on the side of the safety of things, but that's me.

My problem is that even if my BB is disconnected from any network, etc., a BB IMAP access my gmail UK e-mail account! I know this cos when I check the offending IP address belongs too had a Blackberry, but not only that, it is the same IP that my BB uses when it is actually running.

I think that someone accessing my e-mail account with a BB even though I keep changing my password by e-mail. When I check the email from one of the other BB account activity in the household (which is also off all night) there is NO IMAP access activity on their e-mail account.

Can someone please help me cos it's driving me crazy!

All helpful and well informed most welcome response (s)!

    Thanks much :-)

There are two other BB users in my household (using curves of BB)

Hello... and apologies for the late reply!

I hope that you already have this sorted... but just in case.

Technically, your BB itself is not involved in the process of verification of your e-mail server for new items. On the contrary, BBs use the BIS service, hosted by carriers/RIM, as an intermediary between BBs and your mail servers. Therefore, it is the BIS service that checks your email service, and generate the newspapers you see. BIS conscientiously will check the server e-mail every 15 minutes, regardless of the case your BB is active or not.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones is what my emails to remove Bold 9900 soon as I received it?

I connected my Rogers email on my smartphone.  When I get an email through my smartphone, I am able to see it, but when I go back to the Inbox a few minutes later it is no longer displayed in the list.  Why is this happening?  I only had the phone for 1 week. I want to be able to retain e-mails until I have remove it from my computer at home or I delete them manually from the smartphone.

    Hello

    Reference:

    • KB05133 Features of the BlackBerry Internet Service email reconciliation

The situation you describe usually happens with an e-mail account which is, according to this KB, capable of deleted point reconciliation of the server for the BB. If there is an another e-mail client, access to this account (for example, Outlook on your computer at home) and the client is configured to delete messages from the mail server when it downloads, then BIS reconcile conscientiously that made back to the BB - from the perspective of the BIS, the element has been removed, because BIS may reconcile only against your mail server - he can't see this other PC-based e-mail client.

To avoid this, you must configure Outlook (or whatever the PC email client you use) to leave messages on the server, with the option (if available) to delete the server only when you remove them within your Outlook client itself. Normally, this allows the ability to keep the BB correctly synchronized with the Outlook client.

Depending on your mail PC client, this may or may not even be possible:
