Hey I've just updated v4.6 on my "BOLD" and now I can not find my contacts... info calendar and Outlook still there but all my contacts were lost... Help!

    Thank you

    Hello and welcome!

Depending on how you did the update, it may have created a backup file on your PC. If you did the update via attached USB on your PC (for example, no OTA), search your hard drive for a file with an extension of the RPI (*.ipd). Inspect the results (date/time of the file) and choose the one to use in the restore. Then, run the DTM software and perform a selective restore:

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I download my phonebook from one phone to another

I change service providers to one that has the local technical support but horrible coverage (Sprint) to that which do not have local support or provide you with a phone. Sprint uses no SIM card. I use a 9330 with Sprint and received a 8310 old until I can afford to buy a new phone. I want to download my phonebook to my 9330 on my 8310. Does anyone know how to do this? I have the Blackberry Desktop Software on my PC, but it treats each phone separately, and I don't see where is my phone book.

There is no copy paste. You need to connect the old phone and choose Save.
You can choose to only back up your contacts.
You now have them all safely stored.
When you receive your new phone, you can plug it in and it will ask you if you want to restore a profile. Say Yes and restore the saved. Easy.

  • BlackBerry smartphones lost my contacts on the phone and cannot get back them.

My phone has load the other night during a power failure and the morning my contacts and contacts BB disappeared.  These contacts are not lost, because it's my gmail contacts list - but I can't get back them on my phone.  I clicked all the buttons on the sync, but no luck.  I can't manually add a contact and not seeing him.  In the options of the contacts, it says I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number.  But - I can't see them anywhere.

Also, I deleted the email account and set up again ensuring the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put back and still nothing.  Advice anyone?

You see if gmail is your default service for a list of contacts?

    Check the sections under

For BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 to 5.0 or BlackBerry Device Software 6.0

If this is the case, then delete the account gmail from your device and set up in this way:

Since the device, go to mobile.blackberry.com
Scroll to connect and click Send.
Click on join now to gmail.  See if the sync works now.

  • Shutdown of blackBerry Smartphones adding + when a call from address book

Hi, I have an 8830 from Verizon, and I am currently in China. I use a local prepaid card of SIM of China mobile and it works fine. China mobile phone numbers start with 13XXXXXXXXX. I recorded a number in the address book (for example 13888888888, without country code), but when I open the contact and select the call number 13888888888, one more is added when he calls the number that looks like this + 13888888888... of course, this way the phone makes a call to the United States, which is not what I do. To work around this problem, I need to save the number as 8613888888888, so that when the sign is added, he finds the appropriate country code and the Chinese dial without problem, or save the number as + 8613888888888.

But I don't want to fix all change all the numbers, and I want to know why it is adding the most? Y at - it an option to disable this feature?

For info, if I [i] call [/ i] the number manually as 13888888888 instead of calling it the address book, it does not add the most...

Hi saab_rider and welcome to the BlackBerry Forums

Try this please, go to the phone (by pressing the green button), menu, options, secruit call, change of an unknown country code, try again and let me know please, thanks.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not call numbers from contact list?

Hi, I have a blackberry curve 8350 and for some reason whenever I try to call a number in my contacts list, it indicates the code or number I dialed is incorrect, and please try again.

I know that the number is just because they can call me very well, if I dial the number calling me, but when I try to do from the list of contacts it just won't let me.  Its a problem because I don't remember hundreds if the number I have stored.

I noticed that when my phone is to dial the number, it always puts a sign before the number as his try dialing international or something.  For example I want to call 216-478-9876, but my phone dial + 216-478-9876.

I'm so lost, and any useful information would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Welcome to the Bennie06 forums

I think it has to do with your smart dial settings. In the list of phone go to menu > Options > Smart Dialing. Make sure your country code is + 1 if you are in the USA/Canada. I think it will work. If this isn't the case, post back with the settings were there.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones: lost emails / texts, without contacts and some applications do not work on 9780!

Yesterday my camera started to get really slow so I decided to restart it. I did and was still slow, so I did a batt pull. It seemed be allright job but started sometime send me errors (app 603 / and these application exception).

Next - think about this behavior at startup. What happened just before that date? A new application? An update? Something else? Think very carefully, because the smallest thing can be causal.

    Before I format it

Have you thought about how you will try that? After all, 'format' is not a same command available on a BB...

If you decide to go ahead, I recommend a refill of BONE. from a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to separate the same number of son tex

My daughter is using my BB to the text of his father. I also have text him and instead she would not see the discussions.

How can we have 2 separate conversations going at the same number?

There is unfortunately no way to do it.  When you use text messaging, it combines messages from phone numbers, no name, so as long as the messages are the same phone number, there is nothing that can be done.

If your husband has a BlackBerry, consider using BBM talk about yourself and let the texts for your daughter, or if there is a smartphone from another brand (Android or iPhone), consider using a separate messaging service as WhatsApp, PingChat.  Like this, you will have two separate ways to communicate with your husband.

I got a BB8520 and I need to know how to block a specific number, that is to say, I don't want to receive more calls from 99250666. How do I do that?

BB doesn't have these services to block a specific incoming call. If you want you can use an application called Advanced Call Blocker to block incoming calls various. I'll send you the link in case you need to download the application.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not make calls from the home page or the phone book.

I've had my curve for several months now and the other day, that my most young got a hold of it... I don't know how they do it, but my children can do things with my phone and computers that I did not know they could do... In any case I tried to access my voicemail by organizing the 1 on the homepage and it took me to instead call log, so I tried to make a call from the phone book by selecting the name pressing on do it call button and no as soon as I actually had to go into the call log and manually type the number.

My question is... What did do?  It is very aggravating and I would ask him, but he is two... I know he did not drop it or I would take it to a service provider.  All of the suggestions.

    Thank you

If you go in your call log icon or by phone, click your menu button and go to Options. Then, go to the General Options. See if your the home screen dial is set to Yes.

Also try to reset your device by removing the battery for 1 minute and replacig it to leave the unit restarts. Try it later
