BlackBerry Smartphones new browser T-Mobile Firmware locks Home Page

I have just updated the firmware on my Curve 8900 to the most recent version of T-Mobile (4.6.1.231) and concluded that the homepage of the web browser is set to http://wap.t-zones.com and cannot be changed through the menu options.  It's really annoying, as I never use all the things he and always go directly to pages of a bookmark or directly into a URL.  Is it possible to force the browser to start on a blank page, as he has done before, instead of having to wait to load all scripts in silent T-Zones etc.?

Oooh!  Do not take into account, after return service directories, I peut now change the home page and the "Internet browser" on my default browser option!

Problem solved!  Thanks for your help.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is this icon on the home page?

I just bought my BB Curve and read through all the documentation. There is a small black icon that resembles the cross with two lines on the right side (to indicate the pronunciation, I guess). I looked through everything and you do not find what it means. See the attached image, icon is circled in red. What does that mean?

  • Number of blackBerry Smartphones to lines of icon on the Home Page

I found a menu option that allows the specification of the number of lines of the icons on the home page...  It has been set to two (and buying), but I changed it to three to see what it looks like.  Now, it's showing three rows of icons and I can't get it back to two...  I pressed the button MENU, then OPTIONS to access the screen that allowed me to spend 2 to 3, but now I can't go back to the screen that allows me to go back to two...  Any ideas?

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not make calls from the home page or the phone book.

I've had my curve for several months now and the other day, that my most young got a hold of it... I don't know how they do it, but my children can do things with my phone and computers that I did not know they could do... In any case I tried to access my voicemail by organizing the 1 on the homepage and it took me to instead call log, so I tried to make a call from the phone book by selecting the name pressing on do it call button and no as soon as I actually had to go into the call log and manually type the number.

My question is... What did do?  It is very aggravating and I would ask him, but he is two... I know he did not drop it or I would take it to a service provider.  All of the suggestions.

    Thank you

If you go in your call log icon or by phone, click your menu button and go to Options. Then, go to the General Options. See if your the home screen dial is set to Yes.

Also try to reset your device by removing the battery for 1 minute and replacig it to leave the unit restarts. Try it later

It does not change the default homepage to mine, it always shows two tabs loaded with the Mozilla FF Start Page. I edited the subject: config and it has no effect on the page loaded at launch. I uninstalled and reinstalled FF26 and which had no effect. I need help to get this problem solved, please.

Some security and utility software has a "browser protection", protection of the home page"or the functionality of"surf protection"that protects you against changes made to the settings of your browser. And you cannot change them yourself. Could check you this option in avast!, Advanced SystemCare (if you have one) and any other software that could be keeping an eye on your system?

Hi everyone, I just got a new bb and need to transfer numbers from my old curve (which I lost) on this one. All numbers are saved on my laptop in what appears to be a .ipd file? IM useless with this stuff and would appreciate any help. Ive tried about 6 times already but this is not workirking! Pls Heeelp

Hello and welcome to the community!

Indeed, these IPD files are backups of your BB and are available as a source of food (they are a proprietary format and cannot be used for any other purpose, except by a few 3rd party applications that have been written to analyse). Choose the most recent one (the one with the most recent date and time, as displayed in the File Manager Windows) using this procedure:

    2. Are there other features (other than the Blackberry e-mail access and e-mail) that comes with the paid for services?

Hello... and apologies for the late reply.

The browser comes as part of the core OS BB on the device, but depending on the level of the OS, it may or may not be able to operate without an adequate data plan subscription. Some (most recent) OS levels allow the browser to function very well via WiFi BB only, while others limit the browser race strictly via BIS (even when WiFi is the data connection only). Opera can be installed on the BB as a replacement browser and normally works very well when WiFi is available. Many 3rd party applications have parameters of configuration inside of them to direct the application to use BIS, BES, WiFi, etc. for their course of data... we must be sure to have the apps configured correctly to allow them access to a functional way, especially when BIS is not due to no data plan subscription.

    See for general guidance:

It is not quite fully updated for the newer operating system levels (see above re: BB browser), but it is generally reasonable to use.

Other than BBM and SMS (in newer versions of PB/BB/bridge), I don't know any way to run, your PB, whatever your BB at all. On the BB, he has the ability to remote control of the PB (via Bridge of BB), but not the other way around as far as I understand. Since you will not subscribe bis, you won't have BBM anyway.

    See this orientation:

    • KB12268 Support for synchronization for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

It is not in itself a function of the smartphone... but rather the version of the desktop software that is in use.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not connect to Internet / locked message screen

    Hello!!

I have 2 questions that I hope someone can answer.

#1), I have a unlocked new Curve 9300 OS5, checked with my cell phone provider to make sure that everything was compatible before I bought it. My cell phone operator's cellular consumption and their internet settings etc is the same as AT & T, but I am not able to connect to the internet. The phone I bought was a phone that has been configured for use with AT & T. My operator tells me that Blackberry phones are the only phones that they were not able to get to connect to the internet, all other phones that they have had no problem with, nice huh?  I do not understand why Blackberry phones, even those which is suitable for AT & T does not connect to the internet via cellular consumption, even using the same codes, or what you like AT & T, or so I thought. Someone, can someone help me to understand this or put me in touch with someone who can, I think Blackberry would learn this so that the problem can be solved, I know several people who would have liked to have bought Blackberry phones, but decided to not not having heard about my situation.

Locked screen message #2). I watched the video and followed the direction, made several times to ensure that I was not missing anything and I still can't display locked message to change the message resolved to plant in my message. Any thoughts on this problem?

Thanking all in advance for your time and your help.

    Heidi

#1) to connect to the Internet with a BlackBerry, you need to have a BlackBerry plan data. Without this, you will get no data service, apart from a few wifi on a BlackBerry Smartphone services.

(#2) you are sure that the device is 'new '? That the message is displayed on the lock screen?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new 9320 battery

Can someone help me with my BlackBerry smartphone! < br > < br > 4 days ago, I went into a store and joined promo called "Swap and Switch BlackBerry. I swapped my old BlackBerry to a new curve 9320/7.1.0.398 (B1319) basically, I live in the Philippines and my carrier is Globe telecom. And for some reason, my battery does not work to my expectation, I need to load 2 - 3 times a day even though I'm not a heavy user. I get 3 emails per day, no call, I have BBM, I receive text messages but I don't answer, I have facebook but not twitter, I play from time to time the music and SURFs the internet. but it goes too fast for me. It is the only small curve battery? < br > < br > I got all my settings tweaked, together the brightness up to 10%, 10seconds backlight time, battery-saving mode is ON, delete all my apps removed third-party social feeds also, my network is 2 g, removal of updates on my BBM, off GPS, past before bedside mode that I sleep and I always make sure that no other applications running in the background to name a few! Believe me, I did save all tricks I could stack, but nothing seems to work. < br > < br > I regularly check my CPU usage, but no application seems to run in the background, even did some research on how to properly load a Li-ion battery, but my battery drain is still at 11-12%/hr. I updated my version of the OS, I'll give it a week and see if it improves my battery.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new Gmail app

I downloaded the new e-mail application. It installed fine. The problem is when I installed it, I got 5 emails unread. Now I have an emoty mailbox, but I have an indicator showing that I have 5 unread emails. . I deleted them via the web from my pc, but it still shows that I have 5 unread emails. now, when I get an email (I currently have an unread message) he says: I have 6... any ideas?

Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

    Try these options:
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    * Clean and reload your OS.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new Curve 8320 with MTN (stupid) - so fraustrating

    Bought myself a 8320 today

1.) my provider does not allow me to use my own e-mail client; but when asked at the point of purchase said we could. It is shocking and a very disappointing experience with Blackberry. [any available alternative work?]

2.) I decided to use gmail. the gmail app loads but does not - it cannot connect it is apparently a problem with the latest blackberry 4.6? [all known fixes for this]

(3.) I can't seem to change the default browser, or point to the homepage of the default browser of the predefined home page (my service provider). [no clue on how to do this one is supposed to be able to choose the browser]

4.) I can not remove the background of service providers from the phone - and I did not understand how to replace by something more pleasant (similar to the blackberry default background) [it is probably a mistake to BECKY as I'm not familiar enough with the phone to change the background still]

(5.) to a friend on mine told me to buy a blackberry in the United Kingdom and avoid stupid trouble generated by MTN.

6.) it seems no cards for the South Africa using Blackberry maps? So I tried google maps I used easily on my previous phone.

Great looking phone, really happy with the comments - shame about the approach by the service provider. Until I solved these problems I am stuck using my old Samsung to read mail using gmail and use gmaps.

Your comments have saved me some time and newbie inconvenience. GREEN entre-clavier-and-user problem. The only reason why I decided to go with gmail instead of using the convenience of the push service (the original rational behind getting the phone anyway) has been boredom of additional costs ($10 p/m) when combined with the service provider, forcing me to use the phone with specific parameters - the nature of the BIS service has not clarified for me that this practice was an extra cost and could not be established with another supplier of services separate from the cell phone provider itself was boring. Anyway, this phone is way from my old phone - just would have had a better experience of initialization.

  • BlackBerry smartphones delete browsing history

I would like to know how to delete the history of navigation on my Blackberry Torch. If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Open your browser.  Press the menu button (button beside the trackpad BB) and select Options.  Scroll down even to clear browsing data.  Decide what you want to remove from this list, click clean up now.  Everything will be deleted, just like you wanted.  However, here is a little word of warning.  When you leave a page on your browser to access the Options, this page remains in memory.  When you open your browser again and type in an address, this page will be appear immediately while your browser is looking for the address you typed in, so clear what I have loaded, then press the back button until you can go back no further.  THEN your story will be history (clever, huh?).

    I hope that helps you.

My 8900 works wonderfully until very recently. I'm still a novice to use, but I'm having a problem getting the yellow envelope icon that notifies you that you have new messages turns off. On the envelope of the message (or just above it) on the lower left corner of the screen; When I highlight, he says: "1 messages. The yellow envelope also is on at the moment. But when I opened the box of message or one of the other mail boxes, there is no message. Of course, it is on the home page if did not mention this. I can't find an e-mail message, sms or mms (new) anywhere. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Thank you, Richard

Hi and welcome to the forums!

When you are troubleshooting a Blackberry, the first thing is to reset it completely with a battery pull.

No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated.
Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected.

Indicators of enlightened message are messages unread, learn how to use a search:

Message queue open > menu button > search

Set the options to search as follows:
    service = all THE SERVICES
    file: all THE RECORDS
    Show: not ONLY LU
    type = ALL
