Also receive calls

I also received several of these phone calls.  I was also gullible and let the man a remote control on my computer.  Stupid, I know! After I told her I was uncomfortable with the call and told him that I couldn't be sure of who he was, he got very irritated.  I asked him what he was selling.  That really marked him. I told him I wasn't interested and hung up.  My question is, other that trying to sell a fake protection plan, someone had trouble with bank accounts, credit due to this contact cards.  I changed all my usernames and passwords and run a scan full on my antivirus.

Only way he could access your computer is if you gave him the passwords, or enables a remote access connection by... you should have to install Teamviewer, Logmein or other legitimate applications and then give the code to access it.

  • FaceTime is not receiving calls

I can make calls on my end 2011 (El Capitan) iMac using FaceTime, but for some reason that I can't receive them. Can I get them on my phone, but my Mac does not "sound". Nothing will come through.

    Any suggestions?

I'm going to assume that you have checked each of these facts:

    FaceTime can make outgoing calls.

    b. you don't get calls to an email address or iPhone number corresponding to the Apple code that you are currently using. Calls to any other ID Apple that you may have used will not be received.

    c. the appellants are not on your list of blocking.

    (d) at least one of the callers can call other users of FaceTime - but not you.

If you have verified these facts, please take each of the following steps you have already taken it. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.

    1. open the Notifications pane in system preferences. Select FaceTime from the list on the left. The banners or alerts alert style must be chosen - not None.

    2. in the same window, select do not disturb. If none of the three top boxes on the right is checked, then all FaceTime calls will be blocked in the corresponding conditions. If you want to use 'do not disturb', but you also want to receive calls when it is active, check or for both the two boxes below, according to your preference.

    3. If the built-in firewall application is enabled, please disable it. In case you are worried about the implications of this step, the firewall generally useless when you're on a private behind a router network.

    4. If you have installed any third-party 'firewall', 'security', or 'anti-virus' software, remove it according to the instructions of the developer. All these software are worse than useless.

    5. If you are connected to a VPN, you disconnect. You may need to remove some third party software VPN completely to solve the problem.

  • I continue to receive calls from a company called wintech.

I continue to receive calls from a company called wintech and a man who is obviously in India, but called Shane Watson!   I was on the phone for about 3 hours for him today!  I pay money for them last year and am now being harassed to pay more. He gave me a 020 30262097 phone number and identification number to authenticate his call. The company that the payments go to the e-business solutions East nias. He showed me the screens that are supposed to be errors on my PC and also stated that the pirates are using my IP address to hack other computers?  I don't know if it is a lie. It sounds me again in the morning to take payment for software that is supposed to be for a "performance booster PC + anti software piracy" after reading some of these posts, I'm now really worried that he already won access to my PC.

    Hello

    It's a scam.

We have all the errors and warnings in our Event Viewer, which is another ploy they use to scare you

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

You are the only person who knows if you gave them remote access.

If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, to explain, and change passwords.

If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

And Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

  • My pc is running very slowly - I constantly receive calls telephone from 'people' who claim to be agencies of Microsoft.

I'm runnign windows xp home edition - with aol as my internet provider.

I've known extremely long delays in response times - often enough, it can take 10-15 minyes to open my internet session - other times it can be quite fast - compliant nothing. !!

I also have times of long waiting for any intervention on the internet - sometimes the pc stops and I have to restart the pc to continue - this can happen 2 / 3 times in a 30 minute session.

I also received several phone calls from agencies that are supposed to work for microsoft - informing me that I have a problem - and that they can 'fix' it, for me - until now, that I refused to authorize an any of them access to my pc - however, the symptoms they describe are exactly what I saw!

A friend told me that there is a known issue in windows xp - that a file error that is created automatically in the software of microsoft xp - does not automatically clear down - and that is what is causing the pc to degrade and eventually - if not fixed - will cause the pc to get slower and slower.

Is this true and if so what is the solution please.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated! -Thanks a lot

Phone calls are certainly a scam.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

    -

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type sfc in the search box, right-click to SFC. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

    -

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Z10 URGENT: Please help... Cannot make or receive calls on Z10

    Hello

I bought a Z10 a month ago. Updated as soon as the 10.2 was officially available and it worked perfectly. Tonight, however, I was on a call and suddenly the audio went. I tried to disconnect the call but it was not disconnect despite several attempts until I gave up and you press the power button to restart. Since I restarted, I can't make or receive calls. I'm trying to dial a number every time it shows immediately call ends. Also, I can not receive calls. I have the complete network and can do everything including surfing the web, sent text messages and BBM. What seems to be the problem? Please help because it's a little urgent

When powered on press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, this resets the phone.

You can also remove the battery for a minute, if the above does not work.

This does not sound like a network problem, to have that full signal does not mean that you will be able to connect if the network traffic is high or you are being faced with a different tower. Call your provider if the problem persists.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB9900 not receive calls and phone locked on the previous disconneted display screen

When I press the phone icon in the previous screen "disconnected" appears. I can't access the keypad to make a call. I am also unable to receive calls (the telephone does not ring) even if I receive a text message indicating that I missed a call

Always start with a battery pull when things do not work correctly with your phone.  Remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it.

Let us know if that does the trick.

  • BlackBerry smartphones cannot call or receive calls

    Hello

I have the following problem and hope someone can help me with it:

    • Since yesterday my phone don't make me call or receive calls. In both cases, I get a "call failed". I see a connection activity in the upper right corner in both cases.
    • I use a prepaid card of Fonic/O2 where I can ask my balance by "call" * # 101. Normally it takes a few seconds to get the balance, now it takes much more time. Now, often even, I don't get my balance, but a "supplementary service error: General error:
    • I am still able to send text messages (but there was also a message that could not be sent).
    • Receive any text message does not seem to work.
    • A Wi - Fi connection works as usual.
    • When I put my sim card in another phone, everything works perfectly fine.
    • I was not trying to put another sim card in my blackberry.

    My data :

    • Carrier: Fonic/O2 Germany (without option bb)
    • Phone: BlackBerry Bold 9780

I hope that there is anyone having a clue!

    Thank you very much!

Thanks for your reply. The problem was the signal Tower. I think that my provider has resolved the problems on their own... Thread can be closed.

  • Receiving calls the LAN IP. Help, please

    Hello

First time poster, but I couldn't find a similar thread.

My C60 telepresence codec is receiving calls repeatedly every 30 seconds to a minute on my local network.  The call alert incoming says it comes from an IP address included in our premises: 10.10.10.XXX, and for each incoming call, the last 3 digits of the address IP is different (10.10.10.15, then 10.10.10.25, then 10.10.10.700, etc.).  If I leave it alone for a week, I'll be back to more than 1,000 missed calls and the machine is frozen.  Often it will be frozen every time I wake up, and I have to restart.  I have not changed the configuration at all since the latter was working fine.

I contacted my gateway ISDN service provider first disconnect and their services to solve the problems, but the calls were still coming.  I just unplugged the Cat6 cable to see if this is the case of in the codec itself.  The calls stopped coming in and the area is sensitive again.

Something in my local network called the box via the IP address.  Any of you have heard or seen what is happening before?  Any advice?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Rory

    Hi Rory,

Certainly looks like a SIPVicious (or similar) probe.  These have been mentioned several times in the forums before.

One thing that you can try on your endpoint is to put "xConfiguration SIP ListenPort: Off '.

See Bug CSCue55239 - you can upgrade the firmware on your device too.

PS - You may also be interested by this safety notice if you do not have a contract of service - it will help you to spend at least at TC6.1 if you are on an older version of software on your C60.

  • Ways to receive calls from address book on Cisco Telepresence SX20?

I got many unknown calls on my teleconferencing equipment and I would like to know if there are ways to block these calls or even perhaps only to receive calls on the address book.

This has been discussed before in the forums many times more.  Take a look at some of the following threads:

If your endpoint has a public IP address, depending on the configuration of endpoint, you could get behind a NAT device or restrict access of your firewall to allow only specific IP addresses this conference you with.  If you use H323, you must also disable SIP endpoint.

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.
