BlackBerry Smartphones Homepage browser alert message.

I was laying in bed half awake opening a link in an email and we couldn't open because of the intensity of the signal. I went to close and he asked me if I wanted to save. I clicked Yes on accident and since then I have not been able to get the icon browser with a 1 next to him to go away from my home page... Any thoughts?

Go to your messages folder and somewhere should be the request that you have saved, itll have a green icon next to it. delete and it should disappear

See you soon

  • BlackBerry Smartphone VoiceMail reminder alert

Please excuse the question, if the answer is in the Archives; I couldn't find it!

Someone can tell me how to get my Storm2 to remind me where I had a phone call come or have voicemail?  I looked everywhere including alert messages but cannot find a way to receive reminders for voicemail, calls incoming or same email also!

Please don't tell me that I need to check my phone all the time to see if someone has called!

It would be very difficult to believe that the BB phones are not capable of simple signals.

    Thank you - Ken

Hello... and apologies for the late reply.

The browser comes as part of the core OS BB on the device, but depending on the level of the OS, it may or may not be able to operate without an adequate data plan subscription. Some (most recent) OS levels allow the browser to function very well via WiFi BB only, while others limit the browser race strictly via BIS (even when WiFi is the data connection only). Opera can be installed on the BB as a replacement browser and normally works very well when WiFi is available. Many 3rd party applications have parameters of configuration inside of them to direct the application to use BIS, BES, WiFi, etc. for their course of data... we must be sure to have the apps configured correctly to allow them access to a functional way, especially when BIS is not due to no data plan subscription.

    See for general guidance:

It is not quite fully updated for the newer operating system levels (see above re: BB browser), but it is generally reasonable to use.

Other than BBM and SMS (in newer versions of PB/BB/bridge), I don't know any way to run, your PB, whatever your BB at all. On the BB, he has the ability to remote control of the PB (via Bridge of BB), but not the other way around as far as I understand. Since you will not subscribe bis, you won't have BBM anyway.

    See this orientation:

    • KB12268 Support for synchronization for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

It is not in itself a function of the smartphone... but rather the version of the desktop software that is in use.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones! -Lack of message, emails, icons of the camera on "BOLD" 9000

Saturday night my battery apparently lack of power completely.  When I tried to start, but there was no answer so I plugged and rebooted.  When it is turned on, the message text, the e-mail icon, icon of the camera icon and the cat icon Blackberry where everything is gone, on the screen.  Also the 'sound' icon in the upper left corner, you know that to control if the ring is strong, sweet, or vibrate, etc., is absent.  I had the screen saver is off.  But a photo in Blackberry default is now the screensaver.  I have some pictures and important texts and emails I need restored.  I also spent hitting the button on the bottom of the phone, and a message icon appeared or reappears, however, he only registered to Blackberry on the phone, a message registeration emails when I registered on 24 January and back in 28 Oct.  I bought the phone with an ATT store and they said it was new.  None of my previous electronic appear under this "new" message icon

Just curious to know if anyone knows of any quick fix until I have to waste my time online, then have a cust rep, who knows as much as this phone than me, tell me it will have to be shipped to a place and "restored".  Thank you very much.

    Françoise

PS - I just noticed the www browser is missing also.

Thanks for the reply.  A friend told me to stop the BB, remove the battery and then turn it back on.  The BB took a few mintues to come back but it worked and everything was restored.  He explained that the BB goes through a process of battery conservation and stop all programs in order to save energy.  He thinks that the current BB software is apparently not restored these programs stop you.  Maybe the upgrade of the software you suggested will do just that (?).  In any case, thanks for the effort.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not send messages or make phone calls

My BB torch worked fine earlier, but there is an hour, it just stopped.  He has connections and bars, until in the Connections window bit. I tried it turn on and off as well as to take out the battery after it's off to reset.  I tried to remove all of my old conversations in the phone as well. I can still connect to the internet on this topic very well.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones untrapped Exception error messages

    Hi nGuys,

I was sent an email with a large attachment with it and now I can't access my emails or send texts?

Whenever I try, I am presented with this error message: -.

"Eception exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception' and an 'OK' button."

When I click this, (in the vain hope that everything will be OK from here in, it disconnects from the app and I'm at square one!)

That's why making the phone useless.

When I contacted Blackberry support, it says that he does not know of "Eception exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception'?"

Little help would be greatly appreciated: -.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

That's an interesting statement... exactly how did you get that? As in, who did you call? RIM offers zero support to front line for BBs... only via the escalation of a carrier can you receive free support from RIM. You go through your carrier?

Good luck and let us know!

  • Notification of blackBerry Smartphones cannot a stop message

I just got a new Tour 9630 (yesterday, 3 hours before a trip - bad idea) and am quite happy this day except: I can't delete notifications of incoming e-mails.  I have the email account and secondary account lequipetv.fr put in place and for each one I entered alert messages and selected-> Off vibration and Volume-> Silent.  However, when an email on each account arrives, I always get a double notification to vibrate.  On my previous Blackberry, it worked, but now I can't make it work properly.  All of the suggestions.

the only thing I've found is to create a custom profile. You define each notification exactly the way you want. For me, the phone vibrates, sms vibrate, no email no vibration.

I call it the stealth mode!

    works perfectly now.

  • Alert BlackBerry smartphone Voicemail appears in messages - disable

How can I disable this feature?  I hate it when it appears in my messages!

Messaging voice notifications are sent by SMS to your operator. I do not think they can be disabled, but you can remove your SMS messages of the main messages folder and create a folder separate from SMS messages > Options > General Options > E-mail and SMS inboxes separate =.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone app store alert problem

I have an annoying problem on the homepage, I have an app store with a star inside, signifyiing a symbol warning.  When I went to the app store, he says that there is an upgrade to quickpull.  I downloaded it and then it would not install, despite my trying this several times.  I finally deleted quickpull altogether and reinstalled and the new version works very well.  However, the alert store blackberry app is still there just below the date and time, no matter what I do.  I removed the apps, pulled the battery, etc, but I can't get rid of it.  And there is no warning when I go to the store and watch my apps.  Any advice to get rid of this annoying icon?  Thanks in advance!

Wow, it worked!  Thank you, Douglas! @

I didn't even a message related to that because I just went straight to the app store when I saw the icon there. Thank you very much!

Hey, I'm pretty new on my BlackBerry 8130 and don't know how to change the alert sound for each individual type of the message, such as SMS, emails and voicemails. Any information or direction on this would be appreciated! Thank you

Find the setting under 'Profile' on your phone, then once selected go to "Advanced" and then under Advanced, click 'Menu' on the profile that you want to change and there you can change ANY tone/notification/ringtone/etc on this profile.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is a current major outage... official information are available here:

From my experience, this affects BIS, BES and all services that depend on those (BBM, email, AppWorld, web browsing, application access to the data from the internet, etc.). Troubleshooting specific issues during this interruption may be unnecessary.

Once the fault clears, if things are not yet flowing for you, try the following steps:

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning.
